One of the warmest, coziest, friendliest shops around. No questions too basic and no snarky answers! Beginners to experts welcomed.

I first learned to knit a few years back when I lived in chicago but found it to be very frustrating when I made a mistake and didn’t know how to fix it. The group classes I took didn’t have time to address it. So eventually I gave up.I moved to the area a few months ago and as I’ve been getting to learn about the community, I came across this total gem of a shop. I stopped in and penny was very warm and welcoming. Their dog is the sweetest too! I signed up for classes with Rob and have been very happy! I’m learning how to recognize and fix mistakes and not get frustrated by them. My technique has improved and most of all it’s a fun and relaxing experience when I pick up my needles!I’m so glad I found this place. They also have wool spinning classes and weaving classes too. I’m looking forward to learning more from them.

Lovely little yarn - crafters shop in Richmond, IL. where my husband, daughter, her boyfriend and I learned how to spin. Rob and Penny are gracious and patient teachers. We enjoyed their company enormously - It was like being in the family sitting room with friends and neighbors popping in.

I love Wool, Warp and Wheel-Penny and Rob are simply the best. They made an angry knitter into a knitter. The first place I went said they could teach me, but stuck me in between two people to ask questions. I wasn't taught how to cast on, but was told "we just want you to knit-don't worry about casting on". I called Wool, Warp and Wheel and was met with a friendly voice...and a "you have called the right place-we can help you". After 3 classes, I have finished a scarf and am working on finishing a felted hat. I was known as the "angry knitter" when I came in because I told them I was so frustrated with the first place I went that I broke my bamboo needle in half (on purpose). Penny and Rob are so patient and take the time to teach you correctly-from casting on to different knit stitches. Thanks to them I am now the "happy knitter". The plethora of yarn is amazing, the back is so cozy with the fireplace and LuLu the dog. They have welcomed me into their knitting shop with open arms and encouraged me to keep going. Hands down 100pct would recommend them.

My experience with this shop has been incredible. The people, the yarn, the community, it's all great. Lulu is a pleasure to see as well.

I tried to get a pattern from them. In June hey said it was ordered and it would be in soon. I have tried to contact them and they won't get back to me. Very disappointed. I would give them less than 1 star!
