The oak park location is clean but you can never find an appointment and they are not very helpful in trying to accommodate. They definitly need to hire.Try any other locations first.

I’ve been a previous Massage Envy member and been getting massages for over 10 years for pain relief. I know what I am looking for when I request a new therapist and I communicated my specific needs to both the receptionist and provider, but the service fell super short. I am not exaggerating when I say it was probably the worst massage I’ve ever had. I could not wait for the time to be up. Before booking, I asked the receptionist for a provider that was very strong and who could offer firm to deep pressure since I was new to this location. I communicated the same thing to the provider before she began and asked for increased pressure during the session. The entire 60 mins felt like I was being gently rubbed with lotion. The pressure was non-existent, it didn’t even feel like light pressure, just like someone grazing their hands over my body. It felt like she was either timid or new in the field and did not have a lot of experience with muscle groups. Since I booked my appointment last minute I feel like they just wanted to get me in the door instead of offer me a later appointment with someone who would have more accurately matched my requests. it was such a waste of time and money I would have rather not gone at all. I got no pain relief and no relaxation. They offered me another massage at a discount for $75 but I would never go back to this location because I don’t trust their ability to match me with a proper provider. I asked for a refund but they declined.

I’ve been a Massage Envy member for over 6 years and this past year has been the worst customer experience ever. I have my home location in North Carolina and moved to Illinois and was able to use my membership here. I was seeing someone at the Wheaton location who was unfortunately out on medical leave and had to cancel several appointments within 24 hours of my massage. They did their best to get me in but it would be several weeks after having already waited weeks for my appointment that ended up getting canceled. It’s unfortunate because if a member cancels within 24 hours we are charged but if the location cancels they aren’t held responsible. Since it was so challenging to get scheduled, I canceled my membership through my home location and was told I had 90 days to use my passes. I had a lot of passes left and booked my appointments in Wheaton. I was only able to attend 1 of them and the others were canceled. When the 90 days were up, there was nothing the Wheaton location could do to reschedule the canceled appointments since they weren’t my home location. It is extremely frustrating as a member to use my membership at different locations because no one wants to be held responsible. It’s not the North Carolina’s location’s problem that my therapist canceled due to medical issues and it’s so much back and forth when Wheaton is trying to accommodate but everything has to be approved through North Carolina. On top of all of this, it is extremely challenging to find a good massage therapist. I have very bad TMJ and get pain relief from getting a massage. I have called around to different locations to try to get in since the Wheaton location is always booked and the therapist there is unreliable. I have tried the Glen Ellyn location as well as the Old Town location. In Old Town, I called specifically to have someone who is familiar with TMJ and can help with that and I was advised to schedule with a certain therapist. My massage with her was the weirdest massage I’ve ever had, she was borderline aggressive, and I asked her to focus on certain areas and she never even touched them. It was a waste of time when I was looking for pain relief. I won’t be going back there. Since I had so many passes, I wanted to transfer one to a friend. I paid $10 in the transfer and he was able to schedule the appointment in River Forest. Unfortunately on the day of his appointment, he had to cancel due to a family emergency. He was told that he would be charged 50% of $75 since that’s what the pass was worth. He was then charged $62.50 instead of $37.50. After 3 calls to the River Forest location, we were told they couldn’t do anything since that’s what the policy is and they’re not my home location. There is no one held responsible for giving misinformation and nothing showing good customer service. I used to love Massage Envy and I don’t know what has happened but I would never recommend Massage Envy to anyone and will never be going back. Such a waste of time. Such a waste of money. I am disappointed.

Horrible customer service. I was not billed correctly and was over-charged. The massage therapist was 5 minutes late to my appointment and was on her phone when she walked in. Her massage was random and not at all therapeutic. Go somewhere else

After speaking with the unprofessional lady at the front desk, I see why the ratings are extremely low. She is the reason why we will never schedule at this location again. I did not get her name yet! But, my daughter’s encounter with her on 12/1/23 is unacceptable.

I decided to try this location(worst experience), I opted out of the session because i wanted a therapist, they said they cant do anything about it, they charged me more than the 50% cancellation policy. save yourself the headache, this location is not worth it.

This awesome Therapeutic establishment literally ""SAVED MY LIFE TODAY !!! I purchased a membership, then proceeded to have my very 1st EVER "Deep Tissue" Massage. I'm a full-time 24/7 live-in Caregiver to my elder mother who suffers from Merory Loss. I love my mother sooo much & am honored to take care of her in her latter years. This fact does not stop the very real existence of (Stress, sleeplessness, and the sometimes grueling task) that is very much a part of (Caretaker of the Elderly) "role". So, here's to the team at MASSAGE ENVY located on Lake Street. Y'all SAVED MY LIFE today......And, "I'M HOOKED"!!!. Thanks a-million to Miss (TIKA) and the whole team there at MASSAGE ENVY. The therapists that are great are GREAT. If you have a therapist there that you like, just wait until they're available. Staff will LIE and say a therapist is as great as your regular when you need to book when they aren't available. Do not believe it and please just be patient and wait. They had a guy named Giovanni and he was pushed on me and it was literally the worst massage I had ever gotten. I recently got lied to again with a different therapist today and wasted an hour and a half for basically a Swedish massage and I need deep tissue. If I get lied to again like this, I will cancel my membership. It was that bad. I should have stayed at work instead of wasting my time.

MANAGERTIKA HURTVery nasty attitudeI had to close out my account due to my bank account being compromised. And the way this manager dealt with me with no empathy. And then to top it off I had to physically come in to pay for another service before they would close my account and after being told the manager was on break for the next 15 mins I actually was made to sit and wait 50 mins until I finally called for non emergency police assistant,Then this is when Ms Hurt decided to come out to discuss my account. I couldn't believe this experience for a service of this kind. I recorded the entire rude encounter I experienced with Ms Hurt. Beware! Do NOT I repeat DO NOT do a membership with Massage env y or services at this location. It's a rip off if you need or decide to cancel the services.

I was looking for a new place. I made an appointment in person after the first massage I had there. I go for my appointment and I was not scheduled. I had the name of the therapist and yet o was made to feel like it was my fault there no future appointments I was just not in the books. The receptionist attitude was very condescending, they mess up and I am made to feel like it got the date wrong.

Worst business!!! Poorly run. My massage therapist is great but is only there every other weekend and the schedule is only opened 4-6 weeks in advance. Despite numerous phone calls and visits to schedule an appointment I was told the schedule is not open and to call at a later date. i was put on a list and assured I would be called when it opened, confirmed again last week. Today I called and not only was the schedule opened, almost all slots were booked! Other times my appointment has been canceled without notice, changed from 90 minutes to 60 minutes without notice. I have left messages to speak to the manager and never been called back despite leaving repeated messages for months. This place is so very poorly run. I only go for the therapist.

Do not sign up for a membership. Any credits that you transfer to another person will not be honored. We transferred 8 credits to our Mother and none of them were honored. We are out over $400. Even though on the transfer card there is no expiration date! Manger's response is that they were not employed when we transferred the credits so they cannot help us. Nothing, not one credit after over two years of membership, that is how they will treat you. Complete frauds.
