I went in to this store on Friday. I am a women and the Indian person working there treated me like I should be looking for laundry soap rather then the p trap I was looking for under the sink. Dont shop at this store!

I've shopped Handy Hardware for 30 plus year. Service has been
great. Funny folks write bad reviews about the store. The next project that you start or screw up and you need help. Where will
go or call?? Handy hardware may not be perfect! But at least they
try. I for one will shop there and appreciate the service i get. To whom that write nasty reviews, go some place else.
*UPDATE: I stand corrected! What was a great place to shop,
has slide south in a bad way! I understand new ownership and
a transition period. but wow! Lack of employees, merchandise.
Sad, sad,sad!!

Used to get lots of help with home projects. now there are no employees there, supposedly the business was recently sold and has new owners.

My husband got 2 propane tanks filled Saturday and after he went in to pay for it and showed his receipt the young man asked why wasn't his tip on there. My husband was surprised he never had anyone there ever ask that before. It's a hardware store not a restaurant.

I love this true value. Mostly always extremely helpful. They have almost everything you need in a pinch and in a great location. Tim in the paint department is always so nice and very knowledgeable about paint products and everything else they have in the store.

Worst customer service ever. I've NEVER been treated well here. Not once have I gone in there and not been treated like I'm a burden for needing to know where something is, or needing help in general. I'm pretty sure you old guys in there are there to do just that, help. Not act like you're being bothered. If you don't like helping people, then you shouldn't be working there. My 17 year old daughter was appalled at how I was treated just because I needed a specific nut for my steering gear on my truck & didnt know where they were. These are the type of men that feel good when they make other men feel small for not being as knowledgeable as they are. I'm sorry that my life doesn't revolve around knowing pitch, thread & tensile strength of nuts & bolts. But, y'alls does & that's the only reason places like this exist. The crappy attitude of people like this is why more big box stores succeed, while these types are dying out. No one wants to deal with some grumpy 70 year old man that has no life & is forever mad at the world, stuck with a stick up their backside. What's funny to me is the fact that if I don't ask for help, one of these clowns will follow me throughout the store until I either ask for help or leave. It's sick. I hate to assume, but I don't have the typical "white guy" appearance & I feel like I'm 100% judged based on my appearance. I've never once stolen from there or even had an attitude when I was treated like trash. I'm a 37 year old grown man, a single dad & I don't deal or tolerate disrespect. I don't care how old you are or what your position in life is. The way they treat me there is sick. I'm in there on a regular basis but today was my last time spending a cent in their store. I'll take my business literally anywhere else.

You don’t understand the value of this place until.. you bought a bed frame off of Facebook marketplace that is missing 3 screws needed to finish it. 10/10 service!! This store is a life saver for all of my home project needs! I’m so lucky to have this wonderful store so near to us!!

I "Love" this store! They have always been helpful and on occasions they didn't have what I needed, they directed me to people who might. I've been going there for years now and can't think of an experience that didn't have a happy ending.
