First time coming here. Made an appointment online. When I first walked in the atmosphere was not friendly. The staff was super young. Appeared to be teenagers and were standing around having conversations. I was a little bit thrown off by it.I Didn't have much time to look at frames. The first girl who was suppose to help me came across like I was bothering her and was rushing me. Started saying pricing super fast. I politely said, I need more time to look at frames. As I'm looking at frames, I over heard her speaking about me rudely. Which I called her out on it. Then I asked for someone else to help me because she seemed to have an attitude from the start. Sorry I was an inconvenience for you to do your job.At this time, another worker with super long straight black hair helped me. She didn't rush me. Helped me find some frames. She was friendly.The overall experience here was disappointing to say the least. I ended up returning the glasses once I picked them up for a few reasons. I went to the Machesney park location. Should of went there from the beginning.Please go to the other location in Machesney Park. You won't regret it. Super friendly. Nice Atmosphere when you walk in. Overall better people who enjoy their job and helping customers. Machesney park get 5 stars. This location zero stars would more accurate!It also doesn't make sense to have to pay more if you have insurance. Insurance only covers one pair of glasses and you get 40% off the second pair. Verses no insurance, eye exam free and two pair of glasses for 79$plus tax or $127plus tax depending on the frames you get.

This was my first time ever visiting any Americas Best store. I went for an eye exam and to purchase new contacts and glasses for myself. The staff was clearly busy, but found time to explain everything for both my glasses and contacts without hounding me to buy anything I didn't need.They were friendly, and clearly working their hardest to make everyone in the store happy. The lady working at the contact lens desk was extremely helpful the entire visit, as were her coworkers - especially the lady with the super long hair. I will be visiting again soon with the rest of my family!

Not only did the manager Kali, come speak to us one on one. She was soo helpful when my daughter needed an eye exam for school. (We were late on the kindergarten eye exam test) in and out with a breeze. Even offered a “pre test” to help my daughter be more comfortable. Always friendly smiles when you walk in and attentive. Def will be going here again!

Terrible services for prescription glasses. Didn't receive my prescription glasses and was just told recently the glasses are on backorder. This was a 4 week wait period. Inexcusable and wiko never utilize America's Best in the future. Better off with places pike Lens Crafters

If I could give negative stars I would. I highly recommend never going to this location for anything. I was told by the guy I booked with that there was a special and my eye exam would be $70 and came with a pair of glasses. Then I got to check out and she says $120 and I don't get any glasses. Sheathed if I called the call center ter to book I said yes and she was like yeah Idk why they do that. They misinform people a lot. I called the number listed for their location. Then I asked for some trials to get me by until my contacts came in but the doctor had left for lunch she said she would call me back within 30mins and lmk if she could give me some. No call ever came. I went back hours later and she asked if "they" called me. I stated no one had Then she assisted me byt giving me one pair of bi weekly contacts of a different brand. I wear dailys. She said she couldn't give me more. I will never step foot back in this place what a joke

I've always gone to the Algonquin office. I'm 48 and have been going to AN America's best since I was 14. That's a LONG time. On Jan 8th I decided to give the ROCKFORD location a try since it's about 30 min from me and not an hour like Algonquin would be. From the moment I walked in, I felt the cold chill in the office from the staff. No one greeted me and I stood there for a while looking dumb waiting on someone to acknowledge me. I brushed it off. And so, I placed my order on 1/8 like usual and opted to have them arrive at the store in TWO WEEKS. Well, today, 02/02, NINETEEN days later, my contacts are STILL not in. No explanation, just, "I'm sorry, there not in and neither is the manager. You'll have to wait to talk to the manager so she can assist you."Assist me? How? Is she personally going to hand deliver them to my hand within 30 minutes? I am BEYOND disappointed in America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses to the point that I no longer want to deal with them.

What a kind and caring staff! Will definitely be telling friends/family about my wonderful experience here at this store!! Kali went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed before I left, and assured me if I needed anything else, they were here to help!!
