We thought my dog got her tail broken so we went to Rockford Animal Hospital. We got there at 8:10 am on a Sunday morning. The staff was nice and the doctor came in to see the dog at 9:10. The dog was diagnosed with happy tail nothing broken. Just a strained muscle so prescribed some meds, and the doctor was done by 9:30 am. We waited in the room until 10:30am when I went out to the service desk and asked how much longer it will be. My wife and my self are both disabled and in a lot of pain. I was told that it will be just a little longer, we could wait in the main area where the seats are better. I told my wife to take the dog outside and wait for me. About 15 minutes later they called me up to pay the bill. I did and then they informed me that now that it was paid, they will put the medicine request in the back room to be filled. Another 45 minutes later they came out with the Medicine. Now I'm grateful that there was a place to get my dog looked at but come on 2 hours after the doctor looked at her to get checked out that is uncalled for.

They were above and beyond kind & compassionate on the worst day of my life. I was beyond distraught & they got me in immediately met me at the door and did things at my pace. I wasn’t rushed or left waiting for any amount of time at all. Truly sticks out how nice & comforting they were while losing my best friend.

We took our dog to the Rockford, IL location. Michelle, the "receptionist" was rude, unprofessional and judgemental. She asked if our dog was intact. When I replied "yes", she was rude and snarky. It's a shame someone brings their pet in for help and they are treated this way. After all, if there were no breeders, this woman wouldn't have a job. Do better Michelle.Veterinarian & other staff were amazing! Otherwise nice place.

My dog was recently bitten by my other dog and we noticed on Sunday night that it was swelling. On Monday morning I called our vet and they could not get us in. I then tried two other vet clinics both of which did not have openings. Finally I decided to go the emergency route so I called Animal Emergency Clinic. The phone wait time was pretty long, about 20 minutes or so, but I did expect this as this is an emergency facility. The receptionist who answered the phone was extremely pleasant. She was so nice and very thorough. She explained that they do not take appointments, rather, they take a call ahead like a restaurant. Once we completed all of the intake info, I was able to head straight there. My dog's wound began bleeding once we arrived so they did take her straight back. I had to wait for about an hour in the waiting area since we were not in an emergency situation which I was completely understanding of. I was then able to go "curb side" and head home while they examined my dog. A couple hours later I received a phone call from the individual who examined my dog and she laid out exactly what needed to happen. She provided me with all my options and let me know how much it was going to cost. Once I was agreeable to that she let me know what time I could head back to pickup my dog. The receptionists then sent me three emails which contained the quote for services, consent to treat, and a way to pay the deposit. I really liked this as it was quick and convenient. The surgery went well for my dog and she is already feeling so much better the very next day. I am happy with my experience with this facility and will not hesitate to go back if we ever find ourselves in an urgent/emergency situation again.

If your pet is sick, their response will be I’m sorry will book today. I can make an appointment for three days from now or you can go to the emergency vet clinic. Which doesn’t open for four more hours.. My precious fur baby died within an hour of the first phone call. All we wanted was for them to see the dog. All they could say, is we follow protocol? Worst placeEver!!

Staff was very straight to the point in the case of my boy recently, tough but realistic. Only thing to note is that we talked to about 3-4 different people(technicians, doctor, receptionist) about him which kind of made it difficult to know if we were all on the same page. It was a quiet night so you could only hope the info was being relayed and every option was presented to us. Long story short we had to choose my angel boy and let him rest finally. They give you a button in a comfort room to let them know when you’re ready for them to proceed. They never ripped him away or intervened unless we called. Even allowed us to have family drive out and have his sister into the room. Sam and Alyseah made us feel the most human about it all and I am grateful we got lucky with them on a day so very awful. I can only hope that he felt it from them too. In regards to end of life/euthanasia, this was the best place to have taken our sweet boy.

Extremely Understaffed. They stick everyone in a room for hours before they actually do work for your dog. They will try to tell you one thing is wrong, treat your dog for it, then when that doesn’t work and you have to go back they make you feel like your the problem. We’ve spent about 500$ on the same problem for our dog and they don’t care.they just keep telling us to make an appointment at a regular vet even though my dogs been pissing herself for a month and now there’s blood. Completely downplaying my dogs issues even after they “treated her” and It wasn’t the right treatment. Extremely dissatisfied and won’t be bringing any of our other pets here.

Absolutely the slowest possible service for not many animals. Not very nice either. Spent 4 and a half hours here. Just sitting I spoke with some one for maybe 20 minutes through this whole wait.

This place is crazy and ridiculous on the amount of time it takes. Over 4 hour wait to be seen. Dr. never ran blood work. Days later ended up with an emergency visit at our regular vet. He ran blood work right away. Lungs had fluid and kidneys were not working. They couldn't believe a vet could miss this. Pet ended up dying days later. This place said he was fine. Don’t plan on a quick service or quality service. Paid over $300 for them to say my pet is fine and died days later.

I took my dog in on a Sunday afternoon as she unexpectedly was unable to move. They were extremely busy, but upon hearing the circumstances got her in right away by coming to the car with a gurney. They immediately did x-rays and she had a stomach mass and internal bleeding and most likely malignant cancer. They were very compassionate in discussing with me as I had gone there knowing she probably wouldn't be coming home with me (she was 12 years old). They gave me private time to grieve and be with my girl to say goodbye before she was euthanized. I was very grateful for their help so that she didn't have to suffer or be alone. They helped make this difficult time an easier transition.

I brought my dog, Zed, to AEC at 6:45 am today. Zed had been screaming on and off for several hours, and it was getting worse. I was a complete mess when I walked in. Everyone at AEC, (receptionists, technician, and vet) treated us wonderfully. I was especially impressed with the tech who held Zed so carefully and lovingly. She figured out that Zed would be her buddy if she gave him butt scratches. Ha ha. They all took really good care of him. Zed has a neck injury, but he will be okay. I am so grateful to everyone there for helping my dog.

had to take my multipoo in for an eye infection, when we first got there all we had to do was weigh him and they already had his general information since we called ahead and gave it over the phone, i recommend you do that. but after we weighed him they brought us into a room where a tech had to take him back and do a general exam to see what was wrong. he ended up having to get sedated (well more so relaxed, he didn’t actually go to sleep) which was around 60 dollars for his weight (he’s 8 pounds). we had to wait 20 mins for that to kick in and we asked if he could spend those 20 with us instead of in the back and they let us which was super nice because he has anxiety. then they took him back and the doctor figured out he had conjunctivitis which is basically pink eye. they gave us antibiotics for it and even gave us the option to buy him a lower does of the sedative to relax him for when we have to give him the drops. overall the experience was phenomenal, the room was clean and sterilized, they were patient and answered all of my questions. they’re weren’t any loud noises from other rooms that would’ve scared him, and the tech and doctor were super nice and explained things very well. they were also very transparent about prices which was nice. we also didn’t have to wait for hours like other places, but that varies with how busy it is, if you have to go, go in the morning. I was a little nervous reading some of the reviews but coming in and experiencing the care they give myself it wouldn’t seem like those reviews were about this place at all. but everyone has different experiences.

I lost my Angelo in summer of 2020It came on suddenly one day he was okay the next day he wasn’t eating and had severe diarrhea. I tried to solve it but just when I thought he was improving his belly bloated. I rushed him to the vet and I wasn’t allowed in. Angelo being a very skid-dish dog now alone and sick with a vet looking at him. I waited in my car for the results and the vet called and told me “ your dog looks like trash” That alone was cruel but then to follow it up with a cold harsh response that my dog had 7 days to live . They were supposed to do an ultrasound on my dog however there was no indication that that ultrasound ever took place. The person who delivered this message was not only cruel inhumane and has no business being a vet. It crushed my soul and I don’t think I will ever be the same after that day. They ever so rudely offered to just put him down for me I refused I did everything I could do for my boy. I made a deal with him that as long his tail was wagging I would know that he wanted to be here with me. The days went by and one day he seemed to be back to normal. He was jumping and running I was so happy to have my boy back. This was his gift to me one last day of him happy before he passed on. The following day he walked over to me and just rested his head on my leg and stared at me for the longest time. He wagged his tail one last time and walked away and fell. He struggled to get up again. He walked back to the bedroom and fell again. Devastated I went back picked him up and laid him on his bed and I brought him to the living room. I covered him with my blanket and laid next to him the rest of that day and night. At the end he would gasp for air and I couldn’t handle hearing him suffering. Eventually I fell asleep and when I woke he was gone. Two days before I contacted someone to build a box for him with a cross. I couldn’t place him into this box so the man did it for me. My son can over shortly afterwards and dug a whole and when I went out I looked down and saw a four leaf clover. It was a gift from my boy. I ordered a statue for his grave and it was set to deliver the same day that my ex had died. To me this was acknowledgment that my Angelo was in good hands.Because of my experience I will never support putting any animal down. If I had done this I would have robbed my boy and myself of his last best day and of a loving passing.I ended up finding out that the weed spray that was being used on my lawn caused his kidneys to fail. The dates when he got sick everything matched up. I called the company only asking that they warn animal owners and they refused to take any responsibility.
