We went here for the boys birthday bear at build a bear. The lady that worked there was very friendly. She was sweet with my special boys and helped when they needed it. Every year they get a birthday bear for the age they are. So the boys got two bears for 9 dollars each. This is a great deal and a good experience for special needs kiddos. I highly recommend!

Kids love this place! Fun way to personalize their chosen stuffed animal. Watch it get stuffed and then choose clothes and accessories to finish it to their liking.

The lady who helped us during our visit said she worked there for 25+years, and she was an older white lady. She made me and my group very uncomfortable by saying some inappropriate things. I was buying a bear for my girlfriend and i wanted her to do the foot pump but the woman was aggressive and told her she couldn’t do it because i was the one purchasing the bear? When checking the stuffing of the bear my gf was squeezing the bear to check the firmness and the woman said verbatim, “ i said hug the bear not molest the bear” that made us all feel so uncomfortable and we just wanted to leave after that. Not a good experience, don’t think we will return.

Drove an hour to Rockford with my 4 year old daughter, who was so excited to go to Build A Bear. Only to arrive and be told their store is closed because they are updating their POS system DURING business hours. If an update is going to impact a businesses ability to operate, it should be done outside of business hours. Or the hours should be updated online (I consulted Google before going). Wasted 2 hours of time and money driving, for no reason. My daughter was so disappointed, as was I with their disorganization.

Most recent experience was less than memorable, I have gone to other stores where the stuffing ceremony is done with more energy and enthusiasm by the employee. I walked in with my kids and the employees were all on their phones with zero acknowledgment of our presence for at least 7 minutes. And just overall I have had better experiences even at this location years ago.

This is a horrible store the lady was crabby. My daughter walked in with my granddaughter that will be turning 5. The lady walked over and said don't touch anything.
