One star only because the system doesn't allow negative star reviews. Not only does the Sales staff lack basic product knowledge (here's looking at you Bryan), they lack the accountability to even admit they're to blame, instead blaming the problem on being confused by their own website. I understood the difference in product after 30 seconds on the site and I don't even work there. Told me the couches I was buying had three features, then delivered couches with only one (I spent over $5,500 on this). When I called to point out their error, they said I'd have to pay them another $1,350 to correct their mistake, and they'd do me the courtesy of not charging me to restock the couches they delivered in error! Diabolically unacceptable. They'll never get another penny from me, and I'll make it my mission in life to warn everyone I can about their inexcusable way of doing business.

We're looking for the living room the sofa with the surround sound where your speakers are in the arm of the chairs at the each end, with vibrations, massaging backs, and sound effects too, with the lights and everything.. I like the chair with the massaging back, without the surround sounds attached, the second picture. For our bedroom.

Wouldn’t even give this place one star. Don’t buy anything from here unless u wanna have broken furniture two weeks after purchase. Wanted to clean a room and lifted dresser up to move it and legs cracked completely off when lifting . When we called to let them know , they said u aren’t suppose to re arrange anything u have to leave it where it’s at??? so apparently if u have to move houses you’ll have to buy a whole new bedroom set since u can’t move their furniture ? offered a 200$ credit. Paid 2000$ for this set. Couch I bought from here ripped easy. My grandmas recliner she bought from here broke 2 weeks later and it took them 3 months to come out and fix it.. would NOT recommend this place because you will not get your moneys worth at all. The salesmen are just rude here anyways so it’s definitely not worth it.

Love the service here. We have purchased furniture here before the staff are there to help without being pushy. They have a good selection to pick from. I just wish they had more manual recliners. The power versions are so slow.

Cannot possibly review this establishment poorly enough. After purchasing multiple furniture sets through these swindlers under a promotional "no interest for X months" account, they unable to ship/deliver everything together and ended up booking it under "separate accounts." After paying on these religiously for multiple months I noticed that my balance on the first-due account wasn't shrinking properly. In calling their laudable customer service I was informed that I am "unable to assign payments sent to specific accounts," and that they had taken it upon themselves to split the payments across my six separate accounts instead. This should be illegal at the very least as they're just trying to force interest payments despite my prompt payments, all of which were well above the "minimum suggested" number. The physical location now tells me it isn't their problem and they won't do anything to fix the problem THEIR COMPANY caused, instead routing me through the phone number every single time. I would personally hchop down trees and hand-carve new furniture, even willingly lose a finger or two in the process, before purchasing through this company again or even suggesting it to anyone in the area.

Recently I have been prepping to move into my first unfurnished apartment. I stopped at the room place for some inspiration and was shocked by the kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful. This is a wonderful store. Hands down the best selection of beautiful pieces in the Rockford area. If you’re in town make sure to stop by! I will definitely be back.

We were lied to by the management at the Algonquin location, but we had a decent sized credit we had to use due to a piece of garbage couch they sold us less than 5 years ago. We were determined to use only the amount of credit and not give Roomplace an extra dime after the fiasco we’d had with the couch issues and then misinformation related to the credit. Not wanting to deal with the people at Algonquin we looked online and found a couple pieces but only Rockford had them on the floor. Took a drive out there and lucky for us we met Catherine. She provided us with information, worked with us and in the end we ended up spending more than our credit! Very happy with our table and couch, can’t wait to see the rug and custom fabric chairs we picked out. Roomplace, you can thank Catherine for our purchase-if not for her we’d have stuck to only spending the amount of our credit. Thanks Cathy, for turning our nightmare into a great experience!

Sales people are not honest or forthcoming in their pitch. Tell you it's free delivery the whole way, then spring some nonsense like the purchase doesn't reach the treashhold by $100. Conveniently, the price of a bedpad that they aggressively push thru the whole time.

Had excellent experience buying our furniture. Joseph took great care of us. Bought furniture on Thursday night at 20% off. He told us if our purchase went on sale for a lower price within 30 days, they would adjust it. Sure enough on Saturday was a one day sale for 30% off. We called, had price adjusted and saved another $500. Great people to work with.

The Room Place called trying to get a hold of my husband to deliver his chair. I told them he was in the hospital right now & the woman told me, "Oh no! I hope he gets better soon. He's in all of our thoughts. He's such a nice man." That meant a lot to us & it made my husband happy knowing others were thinking about him.The Room Place has always given us excellence customer service, but today went above and beyond. ?

Had the worst experience with the Rockford Room Place due to the manager Heather Brown. After going multiple times and working with a salesman to purchase three new mattresses, we were told we are able to try them out and return after 100 days if we are not satisfied. No one told us we needed to purchase the protection plan in order to return a mattress even after visiting the store multiple times for the mattresses. When we finally decided to exchange a couple of the mattresses the manager Heather Brown was speaking very rudely to us and kept telling us to stop speaking and to get out of the store although we were only explaining the situation. I’ve never felt so disrespected. The salesman had nothing to say when we said he did not tell us about this rule. He ignored us completely while we tried to talk to him. Extremely disappointed by how we were treated as not only customers but as people. I recommend not going to the Rockford Room Place. A situation that could be handled in a professional manner turned ugly due to the manager Heather’s unnecessary disrespect and mannerism and no transparency from the salesman of the requirements.

Over price n they did me so wrong n I spent like3000. N didn't get all my furniture n my side table was cracked my lamp shade wasn't the shade for the lamp n I paid cash n had this warranty on my furniture never used it so the sales ppl are misleading the customer on the warranty; they wanna give me back credit cause I never used the warranty but in order for me to use the credit it gotta be toward 999. Dollars worth a furniture what kinda mess is that, know why would I buy from here again when I was treated like not a customer ?
