I have been going to Tom for well over a decade with at least 4 cars, and I plan on going to him for the rest of my days. He is truly the most honest, knowledgeable, and affordable mechanic I've ever met, and on top of that he always get the work done in the timeliest of fashions. Work is done quickly and correctly, never had an issue with any of the probably 20 repairs he's done for me over the years, and on top of it he always checks the rest of my car out to offer me advice on what maintenance or issues may need to be done in the near future to save me tons of money in the long run. Brake system went out yesterday afternoon, and after calling him hysterically and then having it towed to him right before he closed, he managed to replace it all and have it back to me the next day. It's rare to find a service provider who then becomes a dependable friend, but Tom is one of them and runs the best shop you'll find anywhere in the area!

I took my car to TARS because my nieces car was serviced by this location and they did an amazing job. Not only did they do a great job on my car too, Tom fixed an issue that 3 other shops passed on. They take great care with your car, because they care about cars. Tom has a special appreciation for automobiles.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement

I have a 6.7L Cummins diesel truck. I was afraid to find a new repair shop after moving up from the south. He not only took very good care of her mechanically, but was able to do custom LED lighting and a new custom radio & sound system that was beyond outstanding. Thank you so much for your professionalism and reasonable prices. Oh yes, the brakes are amazing also.

These guys are very reasonable. They don't find new things to screw ya over with, and generally can come up at half the cost of dealers while using dealer parts...
They also provided a warrantee on their work, and took care of the issue when the replacement part was defective from the dealer. no extra charge. They even made the dealer send an entire new assembly instead of just the piece that was being replaced... free of charge.
Also, they opened my eyes on rotor repair on brakes. for $10 more, you get new rotors instead of cutting the old ones. made a huge difference. I always had mine cut before...

Tom got my 1997 Pontiac Firebird road-ready so I could list it for sale. He also prepared an inspection document for me to show potential buyers what the car will need eventually. Tom knows what he's doing. His prices are fair. And he's a good person. For example, even several months after doing the initial inspection, he was willing to talk with me about it and take another look at the car. Ladies, it's hard to find a mechanic you can trust. Tom is the guy.

Is there such a thing as an honest auto mechanic? Yes, if you go to Tom (owner/mechanic) at Total Auto Repair! A former colleague referred me recently because I was questioning a quote for some work at another auto shop. I appreciated Tom's honest appraisal. He not only saved me $$ (and who doesn't want that??) but explained what I actually needed (and didn't need) and didn't try to upsell. Besides being honest, reliable and affordable, he's fair; and you can tell he's passionate about what he does and cares about his customers. Who doesn't want someone like that? I'm sold! Thanks, Tom!

i got my truck done abt a year ago and the same problem happened and he said he got all new parts but he rtv the part that broke made me pay the 600 for the new one and did all this extra work i didn’t ask him too to get more money
