After taking my car to two other shops including the dealership for a diagnosis and no solid answers I was referred to Eddie at Trans-Fixed. Eddie took my car for a test drive and was able to hear the noise the other shops couldn't identify. He had an idea of the issue but couldn't confirm until he got it in the air. The shop was busy and he didn't have any open bays so he asked I call back later in the week. Once in the air he was able to determine it wasn't the transmission or transfer case as suspected. Eddie was honest with me on the repair needed and when to get it done. He did all of this work for no charge. He was friendly, funny, and trustworthy. I will definitely be keeping him in mind for any future transmission repairs.

My transmission was acting up ,I went to the shop at Central and Arlington Heights the guy done some work on my car before. He gave me very bad news that my transmission needs to be rebuilt $3500. I just want to confirm with another mechanic and do little research thanks to God found Trans-fixed Mr Eddie fixed my car for $170 was sensor . 2008 Acura TL, 143,000 miles. As I was pulling away from a stop there was a loud bang and I coasted to a stop. I thought the transmission had failed and I would need to rebuild or replace the transmission. I used Google Maps to search for transmission shops near my location and found Trans-Fixed about 8 miles away. I called and spoke with the owner. He had me do some simple diagnosis which indicated CV failure (not unusual for older Honda products), something my usual shop only 1/2 mile from me could handle. The owner gave me advice about what to replace, and expected costs for parts and labor. I paid a bit more for my usual shop but was back on the road in 3 hours, including towing. Thanks for your expert advice Eddie!

So I drive a 2005 Buick with less then 70k on it, love it and want to keep it running nice. Eddie and his staff at Trans-fixed have helped me do that. My car is old, lines and lower areas are rusting. Under a year ago it was my brake lines, all of them. Then just now power steering lines upper and lower. Both times fast and friendly service at a very reasonable price. Honestly, it takes quite a bit to impress me enough to write a good review and Trans-fixed has done just that. I had a transmission shifting issue. I stopped in to have it looked into. Eddie explained what the multiple issues that could cause it. He hooked up the code reader, and we took it for a test drive. On the test drive he reset the Trans, read /cleared the codes and straightened out my shifting issue with the reader. He could have told me anything and I would not have known any different. Instead he did the honest thing and did only what was needed to fix my issue. He also informed me my catalytic converter is going bad and that it will not pass emission testing. I have to renew my vehicle plate sticker next month. I now have set an appointment to bring my promaster back to have him replace it. Eddie and his staff are very friendly, honest, and his prices are the best in town. I would highly recommend his shop to all for services on your vehicle. Thank you so much for your honesty and help Eddie ?

I called to get quotes for my front brakes a few months ago from 8 different places in the area and this place gave me the best price by hundreds of dollars. Best auto mechanic that I have ever been to! I cannot recommend Eddie and his crew at Trans-Fixed enough! I was in a terrible car accident several months ago and I was trying to figure out what was going on with my Jeep and when I stopped in at Trans-Fixed to ask Eddie some questions I had, he took me into his shop and explained everything that I had questions about regarding my transmission, and he was patient and honest. I got the run around from 5 different places and shops, including Jeep, and Eddie was the only honest person that I encountered during my crazy ordeal trying to fix my vehicle. I have taken my Jeep to him for two different repairs since then and I could not be happier. The silver lining of my car accident was finally finding an honest mechanic in my neighborhood who I can trust and will also give me a fair price. It is a rare in this day and age to be able to take your car somewhere and know that you will be in good hands and not get ripped off. I would highly recommend bringing you car to this shop for any necessary repairs you might have. So grateful to have found a great mechanic after so many years!
