This place is a scam! Rented a car 2 months in advance, even spoke to them the day before my pickup about upgrading, just to be sent away saying 'no cars' repeatedly. When I asked why they had a whole parking lot full of various rental cars he refused to answer. He told me I need to call this # myself to find the nearest location to get a car for my trip. Called the number and stepped outside and was told by their customer service I need to file a complaint because they are refusing me service. As I was on the phone the workers locked the door so I could not reenter to discuss the matter further! The customer service said midway airport had rental vehicles and I ensured numerous times that I wouldn't be driving 45 mins just to be sent away again. They assured me. So I got a ride to midway and was told my reservation was never transferred and they had no cars anyways. I called the customer service again and the supervisor was so cold and said it's the end of the road for me and I'm not getting a car. So then I went online to book with another rental car place, since I was leaving for a road trip that night. Booked with Avis and paid them $737 up front for a last minute rental and they said to head back into Midway airport for pickup in 10 mins. I went back inside just to find the same rude lady from budget working Avis too. She informed me that they are the same company and that again, she has no car for me. I called Avis customer service and was told i wouldn't get my money back for up to half a month. I told her i would dispute the charge on my bank statement before waiting that long for a credit. Please beware and DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET NOR AVIS!

Charged me double for bringing the car back 2 days early, stained up seats, loud noise coming from drivers front of car, had to turn up the radio to not hear it, then they charged over double the rate for bringing it back early, do not trust these scam artist, never again at this place, go some place reliable.

Avoid this place, and company, like the plague. Scheduled a reservation for a 16ft truck on a Monday to pickup on that Friday, showed up at 8:30am and they did not have the truck. The agent looked up the history of the truck and Budget was supposed to deliver it to the location on that Wednesday BUT JUST NEVER DID. Called customer support and was referred to an area manager who said my only option is to drive out to Aurora for one available or cancel my reservation and quote, “go with UHaul or Penske.” I of course got upset when their manager’s best advice was to tell me to go to another company so then he rudely said, “I’m cancelling your reservation, good luck finding another truck.” And hung up the phone. Real professional! Never renting from Budget again

went there today 6-12 at 5 , at the romeoville location to pick up my rental to be told there was no car for me!! I booked it online like the guy on the phone told me to and had to get a ride over there and was all for absolutely nothing . didn't get a I'm srry or come back tomorrow and we will make it right. worst place to rent cars from. please people DO NOT rent from this place.

My daughter rented a car for 4 days she kept the car one more day so 4 days charge 323.85 one additional day 354.85 for one day, so they charged more for one day then 4 days called to complain they would not let me speak with a supervisor. I will never rent anything from this place ever again they are the worst

This location is running an insurance scam. The Hindu gentleman inside will make you seem like a valued customer, but when you return the car, they will file claims that you damaged the vehicle. Payment requests will follow via email.
I called Budget customer service when I received a notice for ~$700 of "bumper damage", the customer service rep said that they filed all paperwork except a crucial report which confirms the damage. Budget customer service stopped the charge, and was very helpful in correcting this attempt at scamming me.
Don't rent cars from these con men. I explained to Budget customer service that I would make it my life's work to ensure that this location is closed down.

I’ll start off with saying we have been renting from budget for the federal government over many years and had great service. Unfortunately this time around when I chose Budget for a family trip it was not the case. The agency at Lewis was great and this review does not directly speak to them but rather the overall vehicle and resolution efforts. Rented the premium SUV since we wanted to splurge a little and be comfortable on our way to take the kids to Disney. Picked up the car Friday afternoon drove home and packed. We started our drive and noticed a small shake but nothing too serious just annoying. This was at highway speeds. Then we were caught in a rain/snow storm and the wipers were terrible forcing us to pull over several times as we could not see. Once we finally got to our destination in Orlando we didn’t drive too much until going to the parks. The car was really hesitating on accelerating and finally lit up the service engine soon light. Called budget and was told to drive the car to the Orlando airport but after explaining the car didn’t seem safe, they sent a tow truck. I asked if they could just bring a replacement vehicle but they refused. Now I had to wait for the tow truck driver and go with him to the airport which was a 30-40 minute drive in traffic. After getting there I had to walk the airport and got to the counter where they had to find a replacement. After getting the replacement suburban, I was finally on my way back to sit in Orlando Spring Break traffic. The whole process took half my day and we had to skip the Disney park as it was already the afternoon. Insult to injury, I returned the vehicle and was charged an additional $700 for a one way charge for the vehicle that was given to me as a replacement. I will add that the replacement was dirty inside and the windshield had a dust all over. Not vacuumed and dirty seats. Was told to call customer service to resolve and was charged $1600 for 7 days vs the original 820 on my agreement. Will update after speaking with customer service.

This business is extremely unorganized and does not care about it's customers. As you probably saw with other fellow reviews, they will let you down without an issue and last minute. They clearly don't manage their fleet correctly and don't care to correct it given the fact I'm only one of hundreds they've likely done this to. Look at the reviews, Jesus. They just don't take into consideration how much they cause in damages by not correcting this.

Called me less than 24 hours before my reservation for a moving truck to tell me they don’t have a truck the best they can do is a cargo van! Then on top of that, the number the guy gave me on the phone to call corporate and see if any other budget places had a truck in the area was a scam number! Telling me to click one to claim my free prize I won. Unreal!
Update: 4 days after my suppose to be reservation, you know the one they cancelled less than 24 hours before, I woke up to a $150 charge from budget in my bank account! Charging me for a truck I never got! Then they say it will be 3-7 days before the money is in my account. And apologized and said they issued a refund so the money wasn’t stolen. It absolutely is stealing money from me when I never authorized that charge OR received a truck from them! What a bunch of scam artists!

If I could give them, zero stars I would. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!! Super unreliable, I just got an email this morning three business days before I’m supposed to move from Illinois to Texas. I made the reservation for the truck over a month ago and they had the courtesy to cancel right before I’m supposed to leave. I spoke to customer service and they told me the best they could do is give me a $250. Now looking at other trucks, I’m gonna spend $1500 more because of how last minute they cancelled. A reservation well in advance obviously means nothing to them, nor do they care to cover the difference from their mistake. I didn’t even get a courtesy phone call from anyone just an email. No apology just that they didn’t have trucks. Obviously, they only care about making money as every business normally does but this is just ruthless and insensitive.
