Been on this insurance for two months through my employer. Already they denied me coverage of treatment for a chronic serious health condition, don't cover my medication for that condition, and denied coverage for preventative services. Only reason I am not giving one star is because they did cover routine office visits to my primary doctor and counseling/mental health services (so far). It is so frustrating to have an insurance that denies coverage every chance they get, and even more so that this insurance falsely touts Christian values.

Coverage is subpar, and customer service and claims team are unhelpful. Also attempted to deny coverage for COVID testing, which doesn’t seem particularly “Christian.”

Do not recommend getting this as an insurance company. Terrible coverage and basically just a conflict of interest.

Careless and unethical insurance company. This is a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with the healthcare system. Consider this scenario: you are directed from their website to an in-network doctor, only to find out CBS never updated their providers and you are handed a $550 bill. Then you need a procedure and that $550 did not go towards the deductible, and you are provide with no help and no written documentation on an estimate of what they will pay, despite doing all the predetermination forms. Now you have to fill out a complicated form with billing codes with zero understanding of medical billing, wait 12 weeks to be considered toward the deductible, and you still are injured while not being able to get needed care because of their ridiculous policies. So you contact them and there’s nothing they can do, even though in the first place the insurance company sent you there: welcome to Christian Brothers Insurance. It has been nothing but a nightmare - 16 months of insurance hell. You are better off being uninsured and try your luck at a FQHC.
