It’s only one place where I can go jogging before my work Centennial Trail - Schneider's Passage, it’s super close to this Citgo corporation, all depends were wind is blowing, if it’s towards where I’m jogging, the smell is terrible from this factory, sometimes I’m thinking while jogging maybe it’s better I didn’t run today, not sure how much is dangerous that smell to my health, but I think it is

This place scares me. I worked here for a few weeks. It is not the best ran refinery in the midwest.

So I am an out of state contractor and this is the 1st time I work here in Lemont as well as a citgo refinery and I can say that I was let down here. In the refinery industry we have a saying be your brothers and sisters keeper. I am woking a small turnaround for the 14/16 unit- the tube trailer for O2 supply, well the weather has been rough lately and being out of my element (texas) it was really cold 40° feels like 30° with 12 mile an hour winds I attempted to (mitigate) and seek out a lamp for my area an was directed to a guy starts with a "B" and he was nice and attempted to help me find a lamp/light he told me he will try to get with someone to obtain it for me and it was around 3ish I asked a turner foreman and he told me that "B" went over the radio to ask for one and got in trouble (in which I feel guilty for) but what bothers me most is I would have felt better if he didn't ask or forgot to and I say this with tears because it hurts a little but he did ask and no one cared, not one person came to take a look at my situation. they just left me like that , the limping safety guy, and his crew of safety people who couldn't correctly read my fire extinguisher tag, operations, no one..... in a place where we preach "be your brothers and sisters keeper", "safety of others", "mitigation". I felt so little of importance. I am someone's daughter, sister, fiance, Auntie to 6 nieces and 2 nephews, and a mamma to two furbabies......yes I am an out of state contractor.....a non...union....personal but I am still a human being.......I matter to them..... Chevron gave us hats during our winter...... marathon gave us hand warmers, llyondell sets up cooling stations & gave squinchers.........yeah they didn't have to do that but at least they attempted to show they cared and everyone mattered we all got a long no matter who is from where......thanks you for your time.

We toured the refinery recently. I was amazed at the plant, Citgo's safety record, and all they do for the community!
