Honest!! I went to another auto technician, they diagnosed and said they fixed my car. The check engine light was still on, they said it would eventually go off. It didn't. I was frustrated and went to Hilgart's because of the positive comments. Byran and his staff diagnosed, and concluded the part that put in my car from the previous mechanic was bad. He called the mechanic and told him. The part was replaced. Hilgart's charged me nothing, Bryan said, come by next time. The replaced part still didn't solve the issue so I went back to Bryan. His staff fixed my car, price was more than reasonable. Honesty and Integrity are key elements to a great business. I have utilized many car shops and mechanics over the years. My business will always be with Hilgart's! Honest, reasonable and extremely professional.

Great service and pleasant to deal with. Lucky my car broke down next to the service station. I don’t know how the price was comparatively, but I believe he’s an honest man.

Outstanding customer service! I brought my car in due to broken A/C. I was able to drop it off and pick it back up quickly. Brian was really nice and honest about pricing and options. Would definitely bring my car back for any future needs and recommend them to anyone

The price is good. I was helped by Brian, who was very friendly. I’ve been here once before and received excellent customer service from Collin as well. Brian was keeping it real, already tired at 9am and a tad cranky, but came around and we had a nice conversation while I waited for my car. Overall, I’ve had no reasons to complain; service is timely and I’ve received honest business.

We moved up to the Roscoe area a few years ago. We needed some work done shortly after moving to the area, and the mechanics we had been using in Rockford had retired. We wanted someplace closer to home, but also reputable. We found Hilgarts! They have been life savers. They take the time to explain what's wrong with your vehicle and what it's going to take to fix it. They don't cut corners, their customer service is out of this world and the repairs are done in a timely manner and done correctly. I highly recommend Hilgarts for all your vehicle maintenance and repair needs!

I can’t say enough great things about Hilgart’s! Recently, my car broke down on the highway, and I had it towed to their shop. They quickly diagnosed the issue and discovered that my engine had seized up —an unfortunate situation, but their honesty and support turned it around.
They informed me that my engine was covered under a recall and explained exactly what I needed to do next. They even called the dealership on my behalf to confirm the recall and let them know to expect my car. On top of that, they offered to print out all my oil change documentation if the dealership requested it. They went above and beyond to make the process seamless for me.
Thanks to their expertise and guidance, I was able to get my car repaired under the recall, and it’s now running perfectly! Their honesty, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile are unmatched.
Hilgart’s has been my go-to mechanic for years, and this experience only reinforced why I trust them completely. If you’re looking for a shop that’s knowledgeable, trustworthy, and genuinely cares about their customers, Hilgart’s is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I called this morning 8am took my car at 2:30 was fixed by 3:30. Fast, friendly service! Honest too. My muffler was loud and causing a hideous noise! Mam we can replace the pipe and have it done for you! Thank you Hilgarts!!!!

Ya know... it is scary when you take your car to the mechanics... But the workers here are always open and honest about your vehicle! I have had a lot of work done here and they have been incredible. Timely, honest, professional, and VERY reasonably priced! Us local folks are lucky to have such a great garage of professionals so close to home!!!! I wish I could give ten stars!

Hilgarts Auto Services is one of those places that you can always count on to take care of you, whether it's a simple oil change or undiagnosed issues, they've got your back. I also love that they are one of the few places in the area that have a deep knowledge of jeeps (especially older models). Their advice and expertise have fixed many issues on my jeep and their crew are some of the best mechanics I've seen.
