I needed a true cultural grocery store to get the right selection of Mexican chiles and meats to make Birria and found this place while driving by. The produce selection is outstanding and there was every type of fresh pepper you could want. It was nice if the cashier to entertain my Spanish when I was looking for Guajillo, Ancho, and Pasilla dried peppers! I'll definitely be back here since I cook a lot of Mexican recipes!

I tripped over a box and a crate that I did not see by the sodas and fell really bad on my knees. I was too busy looking for what I needed and didnt think there would be something in the way. An employee saw everything and rushed to me to make sure I was ok. She took me to the supervisor on duty and she proceeded to apologize and said they will no longer put any boxes there. There was no incident report made. I requested a report and I was told they will contact me when it was ready. It has been 24hrs. I didnt know it took so long to make an incident report. I now have a big bruise on my left knee.

I love Lomeli's. They have fresh made Carnitas, chicken. rice, salsas, pico de gallo, among other things. The produce is always fresh and they have a great selection of fresh meats. I always walk out of here with at least a couple of pounds of skirt steak. It's always cut thin and run through the tenderizer. Amazing! It's a smaller place and parking can be tough at times but it's worth going here. Give it a try if you're in the area.

Asked for 5lbs of Arracheda and to run it through the tenderizing machine 3x. He said no, we only do it once. I said I dont usually get my meat from this place and to tenderize it 3x. He said no they only run it through 1x and to trust him it will be good. After he was done, he gave me the package and it was 5.75lbs. (Not what I asked for. At $8.99lb that adds up.) When the butcher handed me the meat he told me to not forget about the seasoning. (As if I don't know how to season my meat). I told him I marinate it and I'm good. He continued to tell me and point in the direction of the produce to season the meat. I looked at him straight in the eyes and told him again...I know how to season my meat and I know how to cook Arracheda. Thank you... After I purchased the meat and decided to weight it in one of the scales in produce the meat only weighed 4.5lbs. WTF!! As annoyed as I was I just left and as I got home to prepare and marinate the meat, about 50% of the meat I purchased was FAT. Not only did I get ripped off for buying fat that was trimmed off I also got ripped off with a lot of fat on the meat for 4.5lbs instead of meat I wanted at 5lbs. and paying for 5.75lbs. This is not cool at all and I will never buy anything from this place again. I've lived in Round Lake since 1983 and have never had this happen to me. I will definitely post this message all over media so that others are aware of the poor service to consumers.

Excellent produce, selection of foods and prices are very reasonable. We usually come once a month and stock up on meats so we try to buy what's on sale and we are always pleased with the price and quality. We also love the availability of international products and the friendliness of the staff. Our favorite Mexican grocery store around!!!

I really like this little market. Parking can be a pain cause this area of town has a lot of popular stuff in the Hispanic community but if you drive around the building or on a side street you should find a spot. Store is not very huge but they manage to pack a lot of great food & grocery in it. The produce section usually has some great deals & lots to pick from. The deli/meat counter is the busiest. I usually go for the carnitas. Omg the flavor! It's not cheap but totally worth the splurge! My kids have had the premise taquitos & they're yummy!! They also have some premade salsas & Guac in a fridge by the counter. This is my go too place for when I need the good Mexican groceries or food

Really not that diverse, the food was a little over priced from the produce to the deli. It had a food stand near the exit, but $2 for 1/2a cup of corn-in-a-cup is not worth it, i use to buy it from Chicago for a buck.

Saw a billboard on rt. 120 in Grayslake and decided to check it out. There prices are amazing! I normally shop at target, and the produce at Lomeli's is cheaper and better quality. Honey Crisp apples at target: 2.99 lb, at Lomeli's: $0.99 lb.

Who says there is no such thing as a "Butcher" anymore? I love Lomeli's Supermarket. Whether you walk in through the front of back door, you are greeted by happy spanish music through the speakers, and smiling happy people. Produce is always well stocked and fresh, best prices on avocados, limes, tomatoes, Etc. Make your way back towards the butcher counter, and you're greeted by these wonderful smells of pre-cooked food like rotisserie chickens, fried pork skin and such. One Christmas Day, we needed something for a recipe, and although Jewel & Dominicks were closed, good old Lomeli's was open and saved the day. Recommend: Butcher Counter - Skirt Steak, run through their tenderizer machine, or Costillas de Res sliced thin, or their beef shanks for soups & stews. Muy bueno! They treat us gringo's like familia!

Cool place. I shop here occasionally after eating at the incredible restaurant next door. They have deals on fresh meat, produce and other Mexican specialties. Good cuts of Arrachera, though a bit more expensive than Round Lake Market. Upside: can often get ginger in a pinch here when making Indian food. Downside: since ginger isn't a component in Mexican food it's often quite a bit less than fresh.

My favorite grocery store.......And of course they own my favorite resteraunt too...."Lomelis Roticeria". Anywho I have to say, I buy nearly all my needs here. Its clean, friendly and I love the vibe. They also own the resteraunt nextdoor...."Rancho Nuevo" and they do buisness with the Bakery Shop too show you know all there breads are fresh!! I dont know, I guess there is just something wonderfull about being able to do my shopping and then being able to grab a fresh cup of mango with lime and chile on the way out. Love you Lomelis
