It cost me much more to get my taxes done this year (2021) than last year (2020) and the complexity of the return was the same (more specifically, it was quite easy since there were few slight changes in inclome.) I do not understand how the same amount of work can cost twice more than it was last year.

I had the worst experience ever at this location. My husband dropped my taxes off to be completed back on March 2nd. He has gone there before and worked with a tax advisor named Pamela and had no issues. We just got married, so we filed separately this year and I said to just take mine to the same lady. A few days later my husband got an email that Pamela needed to see my tax returns from the prior year, so we drove back to Block Advisors and dropped that stuff off. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I thought that it should only be another day or two and I would hear something back. I didn't. I sent Pamela an email on 3/11 asking her if she needed anything else. She replied back within a couple of hours telling me she had everything she needed and I would hear back from her "soon." I didn't. I sent another email on 3/16 asking for an update. I was getting kinda frustrated at this point (I mean she had my stuff my for over 2 weeks with no indication as to when it would be completed). Pamela did not reply to my email. My husband called Block Advisors and spoke to the receptionist on 3/17 asking for an update. He was told that Pamela would get the message and either call or email me back with an update. She didn't. I called Block Advisors on 3/18 and spoke to the receptionist and told her that I basically wanted an update or I would like to come pick up my tax documents so I could take them someplace else. The receptionist took my message and called and left me a voice message a few minutes later stating that she talked to Pamela and that I would hear back from her "soon." At this point I was over it. I called the receptionist back and said that I would like to pick up my documents the next day. The next morning (3/19) I checked my email and there was an email response from Pamela finally, although not quite what I had expected. She obviously didn't get the memo that I did not want her to complete my taxes anymore, it was instead a price estimate that it would cost me $450ish dollars to complete my taxes because they were "complicated." What?? Any why was I hearing this just now? I emailed her straight back and said there was no way I would pay that and that I would pick up my stuff that day. FYI...my taxes were completed for $110 the prior year and they had the same amount of complexity. I finally got my tax documents back yesterday (3/19). I wasted practically 3 weeks time for nothing. To sum it up, don't go there. At least not to Pamela if you do.
