I flew into Williard airport last in 1986 on leave while in the military. However, the comments about parking delays & costs indicate nothing has changed in 37 years. We waited forever to get out of the parking lot & costs matched St. Louis, Lambert, & many other airports I used throughout my military career. Airport is owned by University of Illinois, & its drive to profit from every possible parking space has only increased with meters now on streets so far from campus only the athletes or similar students used those streets when I was a student. Even though my flight was pre9/11, the security check in also not available until 30 minutes or so before the flight. While I can't speak about connection flights, I was amused by the comments indicating 0 had changed in 5 decades.b

This airport is really small, but it is extremely easy to navigate. Only smaller Express planes fly into this airport because the runway is not as big. Getting through TSA was a breeze it took less than 5 minutes. I usually travel to the larger airports because I work for the mainline carrier however the convenience of the smaller airports are always a plus. The staff in the airport including TSA the gate agent are all really nice. Despite being a small airport it still handles a lot of passengers. I came here for a visit and didn't know what to expect because I've never been here, but champaign is on my list to come back to.
