Caring volunteer staff who want what is best for their dogs and making sure each dog is a good fit for each adoption. They helped to make our foster a successful adoption

This place is impossible to get anyone to answer phones or emails!! Filled application out to adopt a puppy and emailed to make sure they got it. Nothing, called the number just a messege, do they want to find homes or not?

On May 30, 2009 I adopted Charisma, a Catahoula Leopard Lab mix. He was the best dog in the world! Charisma was always looking to please and provided so much love and he was given love in return. When my husband my husband and Charisma met in September 2011, they immediately took to each other. I regret to say that Charisma passed away on January 17,2024 at home with my husband and myself at his side. Charisma was 16 years and 4 months old. He will be missed and will always remain in our hearts. He had his forever home.

AHF is totally committed in saving dogs. Totally run by non-paid volunteers. Dogs come from many places, Southern State Transports, Airplanes from various State Disasters, Horders and others including Dogs freed in the legal process. AHF volunteers work tirelessly to allow each animal to be loved and provide love to their new furever families. And as a final thought, every Dog's Last Will and Testament ends with all its possessions going to a poor Dog that hasn't known love, like it's bowls, bed, etc, and each passing Dog gives it the only thing it can give: "The love I Left Behind".

From becoming volunteers and adopting our dogs, to eventually becoming fosters, Almost Home Foundation is a rescue that is accessible with a team of dedicated volunteers that make it easy to do our part no matter what capacity. I really appreciate the opportunity to be apart of this amazing community and see so many dogs get the quality attention, care, and eventually homes they deserve!Support your local rescues!Start volunteering and maybe fall in love?!Whatever you do, adopt don’t shop! ?❤️?

I made 2 attempts to adopt a dog from this facility, but apparently I was not a good fit for either dog I wanted to adopt. They claim they will only call if your a good match for that specific dog. The dog I was considering is still available for adoption. Hmmm. I have owned several dogs, with recently having to say goodbye to my 15 year old Shepkita. Don't waste your time trying to save a dog and giving him a good life from this unprofessional establishment.

I’ve reached out on multiple times via email and phone call and have yet to hear anything back. I have only a few simple questions to ask in order to save a dogs life and yet no response. The lack of customer service is absolutely sickening and they should really look at how they run their business. Unprofessional.

I found my sweetheart kitty from Almost Home. The foundation made everything clear and up front. They were there for me every step in the adoption process. I love my baby, her name is Tazzie Baby. She's had all her shots and is already spayed.

I saw a dog on there website that I was interested in so I filled out an application and the rescue contacted me. We did a meet and greet. After the meet and the greet I told the rescue that I had to think about it. While I was thinking about it the rescue was very pushy and was contacting me to set up a house inspection. And someone came to house to try to a house inspection when I wasn’t home when the house inspection was never finalized. Also, the rescue told me the dog was up for adoption or we could do a foster to adopt. Then they changed their answer and said only foster to adopt. After taking time to think about it I contacted the rescue to see what the next steps where and they told me that the dog had other meet and greets set up. This is not how a rescue is run. Instead of setting up other meet and greets they would move forward with with me who was the first potential adopter. Do not adopt from here unless you want your heartbroken. Because you will fall in love a dog and the rescue will never finalize it. Instead they move on to the next person.

We can't thank Gianna and the Almost Home Foundation enough for pairing us with the perfect addition to our family. The process for us to adopt our sweet Nala was exceptionally easy and seamless. I felt that they did a good job of vetting us to insure we were a good candidate which brought me comfort knowing they care so much about the animals they place. Gianna even continued to follow up to ensure that the placement went smoothly. If I could give ten stars I would. Thanks again Almost Home Foundation.

We adopted a dane/lab mix from Almost Home last year. I really appreciated the foster-to-adopt system they have to give you a clearer idea of what the specific animal is all about. I've had dogs my whole life and when I filled out their paperwork I was of the opinion the only reason I might return a dog would be aggression or if my personal financial situation changed dramatically. The fostering system gave me a much better idea of what I was committing to in this case. My wife, kiddo, and I all came to meet the dog we thought we wanted and after that went well we took her home. It became immediately clear that this girl had not been indoors or socialized very much, if ever. I was very surprised to have essentially a 70lb puppy on my hands. This was more work than I expected, and it was more work than my family expected, but knowing we had time to work with her as a foster in our home environment provided a lot of confidence in seeing how it went. Almost Home was in regular contact to check in with us and provided us with enrichment toys, advice, and resources for taking her to training classes. There was never pressure to keep her, and it was always clear everybody was only interested in what was best for the animal. After a few weeks she was improving, but still more work than I expected, and Almost Home was happy to let us continue to foster until everybody was sure this would be a good fit. Our girl kept improving and we committed to the adoption. Eventually we were able to return our home to normal, and do so free of concerns things would be destroyed. The time and space that was provided to be sure this would all work out resulted in one of the best bonds I've ever had with a dog. We're inseparable these days, and we owe it to the support Almost Home and their volunteers offered throughout the process.
