The staff at the front desk are incompetent and give coats and jackets left and right to whoever. Then they try to pin the fault on their customers.Ryan, one of the stylists does not do a very good job on haircuts. He mostly wastes good half hour for pulling and drying the hair than actually cutting it.I am not going back there. Very disappointed with the service and overall attitude of the people working in this place. Not worth wasting time and hopes for a good haircut and style.

Normally these kind of scenarios wouldn't have been an issue had it been handled with the right communication but I feel like this does need to be shared. For anyone who doesn't want to risk a safety concern when giving ASHA staff their coats to be stored in their closet, definitely check that they've given you the right coat (just a heads up). I went to ASHA yesterday for a 3PM appointment with my mother and upon arriving, the reception staff asked if I wanted to leave them my coat. I did and they gave me two tickets with numbers to confirm which coats we dropped off for when I came back to receive them.My stylist Ryan took care of my mother and I between 3PM - 5PM and overall, the hair cut/style was a good experience that left a good impression until time came to collect the coats. He offered to retrieve the coats for me but as the receptionist was the one who handled the coats in the first place, I said I'd be more than fine with the receptionist getting the coats for me. I picked up the coats using the two tickets and received my mother's coat and a black puffer coat that resembled my coat that I brought in.I waited in front of the ASHA for fifteen or so minutes for my dad to pick us up and when returning home, I was getting ready for a dinner that I briefly discussed with Ryan as to the reason I was getting my hair done in the first place. ASHA called me an hour later and left a voicemail to advise that they gave me the wrong coat. I checked the coat that I had and they were correct, it was a black puffer coat that resembled my coat but it was not the coat I received. Not a problem until I called Ryan back to confirm that I was planning to come back to the salon to retrieve it. My mother was in the background asking if there was a way for me to retrieve my coat tomorrow and drop off their coat to them that morning as we were going to be an hour late with the traffic between Woodfield Mall and our destination. I insisted to my mother that I would retrieve the coat that night because I didn't want my coat to possibly end up lost if they had given my coat to another customer by accident. That being said, I overheard Ryan on the phone commenting on how he "did not appreciate what was being said in the background" and that it was my fault for rejecting his offer to give me the coats back instead of the receptionist. At this point, I was pretty stressed with trying to make my reservation on time and talking to Ryan on how we'll retrieve the coat immediately. What came out of it was that my parents were able to retrieve the coat in my stead. I asked them that night if they were able to receive the correct coat and they did. While ASHA's staff apologised to the woman for the mistake, they did not apologise to my parents. They did not accept responsibility for the mistake despite us following their coat system where we turn in our tickets to receive the correct coats. It was fortunate enough that I had nothing in the pockets of the coat but for anyone who gives their coat to ASHA's reception team, please either make sure that there is nothing in your coat/jacket pockets, double check that you've received your correct coat or even better, forgo leaving your coat with them and avoid an unpleasant experience like this. It's been a couple of years since I returned to ASHA since moving out of Illinois and it comes with disappointment that the first experience I receive from coming back is one that left a bad taste in my mouth. This could have been a severely worse outcome if someone did lose their property and to add insult to injury, the staff team and its stylist did not handle it with grace.

Thank you so much Gigi! I’ve gone to her a couple times now and each time she is so sweet and does hair wonderfully. My hair came out so good and it looked just like the picture I showed her! I have a lot of hair so I feel bad for anyone who has to color my hair but she looks at it like it’s fun and she’s always so excited which makes me feel like I’m not a burden. Thank you Gigi!!

I had the pleasure of experiencing a deep tissue massage from Lucy at Asha Salon, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Lucy's skill and expertise genuinely shine through in her technique. From the moment the session began, I could tell that she had a deep understanding of the body and its muscles. Her firm yet gentle touch worked wonders in releasing the tension and knots that I had been carrying for quite some time. I left the session feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and with a newfound sense of lightness in my body.

My husband and I just spent our first evening here and it far exceeded our expectations. We are avid spa enthusiasts and Asha did not disappoint in any way. It's a beautiful, serene and comfortable area for massage and body treatments. Complimentary hot tea and lightly flavored waters. Soft music. Muted mood lighting. They do offer secure lockers and complimentary robes. There is a wonderful shower available with steam. I had a 60 min full body massage followed with a divine 30 min foot reflexology and then a neti sinus treatment. Lucy was my therapist and I can't compliment her enough. She was skilled, attentive and had firm pressure throughout. My husband worked with Rachel and he is VERY picky about pressure and technique. He was extremely impressed with her level of experience, knowledge and professionalism. He did a variety of massages for two hours. It's a huge plus that you aren't required to switch treatment rooms which happens at some spas if you book a variety of services. In my opinion and in comparison to the numerous spas we've frequented Ashas prices can't be beat for the amazing high quality services and highly trained staff for massage and other therapeutic choices.

If you need a haircut, go see Ryan. He's incredibly talented and has such an awesome personality too. I absolutely adore him and always walk out with a great haircut that grows out extremely well. The only reason this review is 4/5 stars is because I haven't had the best luck with colorists at the Schaumburg location. In fact, I've seen a few different colorists at Schaumburg but am never quite happy with the end-result. I'm sure there are excellent ones there, but the ones I've seen have missed the mark.Fortunately, I found an incredible colorist named Izzy at the Asha Gold Coast location. Both Izzy (Gold Coast) and Ryan (Schaumburg) are phenomenal and deliver a 5-star experience.

This review is regarding receptionist behavior at this Asha salon location.I’ve been coming to Asha since 2017 but recent policies have changed the level of service. Two days ago, I called to make a last minute appointment with a hair stylist and this morning woke up with a bad case of laryngitis. I’ve canceled services three times in the last 2 years. Today, I called in and lost my voice which was apparent on the call. I was told I would pay a 50% fee to cancel. After a lot of back and forth about my illness and salon policies with receptionist Angela, I told her I would come in to avoid paying a fee I didn’t agree with and ended the call. Minutes later I received an aggressive call from the receptionist (Angela) letting me know that she canceled my appointment because I was sick, and would require a down payment in the future for canceling too late today. She ended the conversation rudely and with an aggressive tone, sharing she will advise the technician to not schedule services for me in the future, as a personal insult.I contacted the corporate store owner and learned that the way this salon operator sets policies is based on individual store location. I was advised that the way the call was handled was not aligned with the practices of their parent company, and the parent company would be offering training to the Asha location to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, it does not resolve the terrible experience I’ve had here today and I’m disappointed with how Asha treats even it’s most loyal and long tenured clients. Some staff, including the staff I spoke with today, should not be employed in customer service. Threats and abuse should not be tools that receptionists use in phone conversations. In scrolling through reviews, many recently shared my experience which is concerning. The quality of the receptionist staff has sunk below expectations as egos have risen.I hope that Asha salon at Woodfield considers whether long-tenured client relationships or a relatively smaller and punitive 50% fee are more valuable to their business.Service: Haircut
