Absolutely the worst customer service ever!! I was a very happy Bank of the West customer with no problems. BMO takes the account and it is hell getting anyone who speaks English and can actually help you. DO NOT USE BMO BANK!!
I have been hung up on/dropped off the call at least 5 time this week trying to figure out where my title is after I paid off a loan. Been on hold for hour!!

This bank is holding my money hostage because I ripped up my CC and can't supply them with my card number. I was told I had to go to the branch and they were closed for 1.5 hr for lunch? First time I went to the branch I was told to come back later. What kind of bank is this? Shame on you.

Avoid this bank. We were a small business customer of Bank of the West. Upon BMO's acquisition their business service immediately declined. For instance, they now want to charge us $15 per month for online read only statement access for our accountant. This is normally a customary service with any other commercial bank. Terrible service and business capabilities combined with a fee happy attitude.

Don't use this bank. I had no problems with Bank of the West, but once BMO took over it has been a disaster. BMO's customer service line is useless. You spend hours on hold and then it either hangs up or someone tells you there is nothing they can do. I have a business line of credit and it took me 8 hours on the phone plus in the branch to access it and even then it was some sort of work around the banker figured out and not a normal way of doing it. During the transfer from Bank of the West to BMO, my Zelle account got suspended and so I spent another 3 hours at the branch trying to figure out how to fix it and eventually they said there was nothing they could do. Now, I did a $3k transfer from my BMO business account to my Chase personal account on Friday. It is supposed to be a next day delivery. Usually, the money is taken out of the BMO account immediately. This did not happen on Friday which raised some concerns. Nothing showed up on Monday either. So I initiated another transfer. Then, the transfer from Friday showed up, so my account was overdrawn because both the Friday and the Monday transfer were taken out. Today neither transfer is in my Chase account. I have spent over an hour today on the phone trying to figure out where this $6k has gone. The end result was that they don't know, and I can just wait or they can try to cancel the transfer on their end which would take 3-5 business days. I have no faith this will get done anyway, because every time I call the branch I am put on hold, told someone will call me back, or told there is no answer. In summary, BMO has taken $6k out of my account, it has disappeared, and no one knows where it has gone. They appologized that this was not the answer I was looking for.

Worst experience as customer. Their verification process is atrocious and the employees don’t have any idea what the problem is or solutions. You’ll spend at least 30 mins to verify your ID.
I can’t believe this bank exists.

Terrible experience. I took some cash out of my account, and they gave me two counterfeit hundred-dollar bills, which were confiscated by my other bank. BMO refused to make this right, so I am out the $200

BMO has canceled my debit card twice in 3 days for the same "fraudulent" charge, that I told them numerous times was not fraudulent. Both times my card has been canceled without giving me any notification, and without them even asking me if I was aware of the charge, which I would have said yes to.

The people at the branches are great, but their 800@ customer service is horrible! We had an issue with using Zelle and the branch said that the 800 technical people needed to handle it. mu husband called and was told that, since the issue involved my login, I had to call. So I called and was told that my husband had to call. After 2 rounds of this, no one would even tell us what the issue was "because of privacy." After the last call, I was so frustrated, I hung up and spent

This is the worst bank you could ever possibly use. It’s 2021, almost 2022, and they have the worst most buggy, trash app/website I’ve ever seen. It’s constantly crashing, blocking you from seeing it, etc. heaven forbid you need to quickly jump in and turn you card on or off. Not to mention, the few times it DOES work, it is a mess. When I use mobile or online banking I expect an actual ledger with proper information. Not an app that looks like it was designed for a preteen.

BMO Harris is by far the worst bank I have dealt with. they have destroyed my credit due to the lack of communication between employees and lack of training on policies for auto loans. I'm so unhappy with them. customer service is terrible. I had one woman tell me "we are not going to split hairs" regarding their employee giving me false information. absolutely disgusted.
