While my cashier was friendly, the staff assisting her seemed unwilling to help. I wanted to purchase a tumbler cup but cashier found a crack/chip at the bottom. I was more than willing to purchase it as is, but they refused to sell it. The overall customer service was sadly disappointing.

I’ve never seen 5 people do so little at the registers, the line has only moved 2 people in 15 minutes.

Bathrooms are absolutely filthy! An it isn't from just today, those bathrooms haven't been cleaned in a While!! Even the baby changing table is disgusting! An to think the lines are always 10ppl +. They really don't have much selection for mems anymore nor plus size women.

Gave it one star because you have to give at least one to give a review. The line is out the door and they only have three cashiers after walking in. Not waiting in this long line for anything. It's a shame too. Because I have disposable income, and I love this store for its selection and prices. But if you have to wait till the morning to pay, what's the point?

We were discriminated against when we went shopping with our friends last night.He asked if we should pay separately? We said yes, and then he laughed and ridiculed loudly. Our English is not very good, but we can see facial expressions and understand part of it. I hope the relevant leaders can investigate and monitor.

Husband found and bought a sweater for me bc it was one of my favorite brands however it was from the clearance section (Marshalls, Evanston - relevant info).
It was purchased 12/30/24 (Monday) a nice blue quarter zip Lucky Brand sweater but it is a wool blend and I can't wear wool. The sweater went right back in the bag until our planned day of walking Woodfield Mall with the kids. I figured we can also stop at the Marshalls, Schaumburg nearby to shop and return the sweater on 1/3/2025 (Friday - within 5 days).
Well, cashier (middle age, straight blonde shoulder length hair, name tag turned backwards so you couldn't see her name) didn't look too pleased with the return. She started making a show of picking at the fuzz on the sweater, then just takes it down to the other end of the counter to confer with Co-Ordinator Shahida (?).
Cashier comes back and states she's not accepting this return and points at the sweater fuzz.
I state this was the condition of the sweater when purchased, never wore it, all tags inside and out are still on the sweater and I have original receipt.
Then she picks up the receipt and says "Well, you didn't even buy it from this store". Apparently she was trying to infer bc we purchased it from a different Marshalls it was another reason why she wasn't going to accept the return.
That's when I said it shouldn't matter, "I've been a TJX cardholder for years and It shouldn't matter which Marshalls it was purchased from bc Marshalls is Marshalls".
Supervisor / Co-ord Shahida is called over and she tries to say the same about the sweater fuzz and how the (Evanston) selling cashier should have marked it "As-Is" on the tag and either offered or I should ask for an additional discount bc that is what she would do (good to know that we can ask for more discounts).
So I ask if they mark it "As-Is" does that mean it's not returnable. She says it can still be returned (so then what's the difference if the tag is marked "As-Is" or not?). Anyways a little more back and forth and she says she'll do me this favor and okay the return; but she ends by saying they (Schaumburg) would never have or sell items in condition like this at their store (note: the sweater is not as bad as they make it out to be it is still in good condition just some fuzz that wouldn't make it unsellable - plus again this was how it was when we purchased it).
Anyways, they process my return, I shop Marshalls, Schaumburg bc you never know what great Finds you'll get at each different store.
While shopping this store I come across in the clearance section size medium 4 sweaters in the same fuzzy condition as my returned sweater. I put these 4 sweaters in my cart.
During check-out for my new purchases (not sweaters), I showed the Supv / Co-ord Shahida (cashier was off duty by now) the 4 fuzzy sweaters that apparently her store does in fact sell in similar condition. According to her this happens to the sweaters sometimes from all the rubbing against the other clothing on the racks. Oof - and that was what I was trying to say from the very beginning.
In the end, I still love shopping at Marshalls and I don't hold it against the Co-ord Shahida (she was nice and pleasant) but the cashier was most unpleasant and trying her hardest to make things difficult for me esp during the time with customers 10+ deep in line and our interaction lasting 15 minutes for a return.

Came to this Marshalls to return a present and I believe it was the manager. She was an older polish lady, she was very rude, making ugly faces at me too. She rejected the items that had Marshalls tags on them because she stated they were from a while ago. First of all I didn’t have a receipt at all so how would she know? All I wanted was a return. No other Marshalls has ever rejected any of my returns so idk what the big deal was. She just kept saying no no no and no good reason. Wish i would’ve gotten her name but I wouldn’t recommend coming here to return something without a receipt. I will say this again no other Marshalls has ever gave me a hard time on returning something!!! NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN

Decent selections but it’s messy and bathrooms need to be remodeled and cleaned consistently and replenished with soap and toilet paper. Like come on. They are so disgusting

Every time you check for shoplifting on Handbags please put back Paper filling back in it.
I keep receiving bags with out the paper filling.
