My fiancé and I were browsing furniture stores for the perfect couch for our family room in our new house. We searched the usual furniture stores but we couldn't find anything we quite liked until we stumbled upon Penny Mustard and decided to give them a try. We were greeted by Kim and it instantly felt like we were talking to a family member instead of an intimidating salesperson. Kim was very helpful and knowledgable into helping us find the perfect couch. So helpful, in fact, that my fiancé was also able to find a recliner for himself for the family room as well! Penny Mustard, I would say, is a place where "you get what you pay for." The couch quality was marvelous and so soft and it's clearly made to last. I was surprised at the amount of color/material options for each piece of furniture. Overall, very happy with the purchases and our home finally feels cozy!

I wanted to thank and compliment Janice Czerwonka, General Manager of the Schaumburg showroom and Dolshore B and Mike of customer service with getting two of our five-year-old Elran recliners fixed under warranty. The electric reclining function had become extremely balky over the years. Despite the age of the units, the parts and labor were covered without charge to us as a warranty claim. The parts had to be ordered from Canada and supply chain issues delayed repair, but the Penny Mustard team was persistent and got it done. The recliners work perfectly again now. Thank you!!

My car became disabled on the road next to the store. An employee, Joanne, saw me waiting for a tow truck and brought out water for me. What a wonderfully kind person. When I need furniture, I'll go there.

The minute my wife and I walked into the store and met Janice we felt like family. She was wonderful to work with. She took the time to get to know us, and what we were looking to achieve with our furniture purchase. She is extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful in explaining all of the various options available. From purchase, to delivery, to set-up our experience was flawless. If you are in the market for great furniture, with outstanding customer service, I would highly recommend you visit this store and speak with Janice.

My Husband and I walked into Penny Mustard with a idea of what we were looking for. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the General Manager. From there it just felt like a friendly conversation with a friend. She made us feel like we were so welcome and at home. She showed us some options and from there went over the configurations with us, helped us pick the pieces to fit our needs and went over quality of the furntiure. I am beyond impressed with the staff at this store. You will not find any pushy sales ppl here, instead you will find ppl who gen really want to help you and who care. We will be coming in with in the next couple of weeks to put our down payment and order our furntiure from them.Id also like to add that I came to this store when I was a lot younger, in my teens and was interested in purchasing a new bedroom set. I was greeted warmly and the gentlemen I worked with took his time and worked with me demenstrating the craftmenship of the product and some of the perks. It didnt matter how old I was. I was given the same respect that a adult was. After I found out the prices of the furnture (you pay for quality) I apoligized to the staff member and told him I could not afford the pieces. He smiled at me and said that is ok Please keep us in mind for future purposes and we are always here to answer any questioins. From that day I vowed when I could afford my dream furntiure I would purchase from Penny Mustard (then it was PM) We finally are!!!!

I visited the Penny Mustard in Schaumburg three times this week-The initial time I picked out a lamp and wall clock that I was interested in purchasing. I took photos, went home and showed them to everyone. They agreed that they would be a perfect addition to our new home. With that, I returned a second time to find out that the floor lamp did not come apart and I would need to borrow someones SUV to purchase and bring home. I returned today, the third time, and was told that the wall clock was marked incorrectly and the price was higher. My salesperson had written the quote for me with the original and incorrect price so I expected to purchase it for that price. I was informed that we would need the approval of the manager, Janice, who had been informed of the issue, but was now with another client. I waited for about 15 minutes before getting her attention and asking her if she could resolve the price issue. She came over and said they would need the original price tag from the clock even thought the quote showed the original incorrect price. I mentioned that I should be given the quoted and marked price regardless of then not having the price tag. Janice said several times that they would need the tag showing the wrong price and they would not honor the quoted price. The incorrect price was $169-the correct price was $220, not a major difference. After I said that I would not take the clock or the lamp (that I really wanted) and started to leave, Janice said they would honor the incorrect price. At that point I decided that if the customer service was that poor, I would take my business elsewhere. Note: I do have a picture of the clock with the incorrect price.

Very poor customer service-the manager refused to honor a price was was posted incorrectly on a clock. A mere $50 difference.

My wife and I recently bought some bedroom furniture from Penny Mustard at the Schaumburg location. The Sales Consultant we worked with was Kim Markman, and we could not be happier with the service she provided. Kim spent 5-10 mins with us at first to share some helpful info on the options available, but then she did what most showroom sales people don't do...she actually left us alone to shop around instead of hounding us.Then about 30-40 mins later we circled back with her and she answered all our questions, and provided very helpful opinions to help us decide which bedroom set we liked best. Investing in high quality expensive furniture that you will have forever is a tough decision, but Kim made it much easier for us!

We cannot begin to describe how remarkable our experience was at Penny Mustard and in particular, with Kim Markman. She immediately understood our vision and made us feel like we were the only people in the showroom. She was patient and really partnered with us to customize our selections. She has great design skills and understanding. The showroom was beautiful and tastefully staged. Penny Mustard will be our new "go to" furniture store and Kim Markman is our new favorite designer. If you go to Penny Mustard, ask for Kim!

I furnished a new house with furniture purchased at Penny Mustard. The furniture looks great, and the shopping experience was pretty nice. My issue is that the furniture is advertised as solid wood quality, but realistically it has several veneers and/or engineered woods (hard to tell exactly without harming the piece) as part of the construction upon further inspection on the interiors and sides. This is obviously on me for not noticing at the store, but clever indeed on the part of the store.

Great service in the store with Lynneanne Bernstein. Order placed correctly for custom leather El Ran recliner sofas, which are sold and shipped by the seat - each seat individually wrapped and transported. The store deserves five stars. Then the story changes. Delivery six months later show that at least one seat was dropped (by Penny Mustard) and the leather on two seats was damaged at a front facing corners. Penny Mustard would not repair the frame damage from being dropped, but attempted to repair the leather. The leather was painted to match the intact leather and the seats bolted together because they would not connect in the manufacturer's manner, due to the frame damage. We received no compensation for imperfect custom sofas, no warranty on the repairs, and no replacement seats or frames. We did not receive new, perfect custom sofas even though we paid premium prices. As a result, we will probably never purchase from them again, all because of this unbelievably poor delivery and customer service.

Kim Markman was incredible, and I mean incredible. We went back and forth for hours, looking at all of the selections in store and at other Penny Mystards. She called other sales teams and had photos taken in real time and sent over. They even kept the store open after closing time until everything was finished. The entire process felt genuine, and I will be shopping at this location again.

The older lady at the front desk (short, brown hair and glasses) needs to go back for re-training in customer service fundamentals. I was the only one around and she completely ignored me when I walked in, so I had to walk over to her, and she said "How are you?" When I responded and then asked how she was, she literally stared at me for AGES and said nothing. She just stared at me rudely with complete disdain! Apparently I didn't fit her preconceived ideas about what a Penny Mustard customer is supposed to look like. When she finally asked what I was looking for, she did so in the most condescending, unwelcoming tone ever. Here's a tip, lady: Try not being rude and unhelpful to your customers, and maybe you'll have more walking in the door. Stop making assumptions about what you think people can afford. The store is not nearly as fancy as you think.

I bought my new mattress from the sweetest most knowledgeable little thing and her name was Joanne. Although I already knew what I wanted she insisted I lay on her recommendations after asking me some sleep questions to make sure I was making the right choice for myself. After agreeing to lay on a few beds for about 15 minutes each… She was right and I had changed my mind. My new bed arrived this past Saturday, my delivery guys were awesome, and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended! Thank u so much.
