Rooms: Bed was comfortable

I stayed here on my last night in Chicago because my flight was early in the morning. It was more affordable than my hotel in the city and meant that I wouldn't need to take an hour long train ride during rush hour. The airport shuttle is amazing! It makes it easy to reach the hotel after you take the blue line, and it makes it easy to get to the airport in the morning.
The room is clean and quiet. It's more than good enough for a night of sleep.
PSA: There's a pickup location in terminal 2 Arrivals right one level above the CTA exit/entrance. No need to go all the way to Terminal 5.

Don't stay at this hotel. Here are three reasons why.
1) When we walked up to the shuttle, the driver was in his seat ... fully reclined, arms extend, watching a video on his phone. We just kinda stood there for a couple minutes, until he noticed us. It felt like we were about to walk into someone's living room. The driver was texting as he pulled away from the hotel, then continued to text … while driving … on the freeway … with guests in the van … including my 12 year old son. To be clear, it wasn’t a couple short texts … continuous texting. I asked the driver to stop texting. The driver sarcastically repeated my words then fell silent, while he plotted his revenge. In retaliation, he dropped us off at the international terminal instead of terminal 2. He smugly recited the law of the shuttle: “This is the shuttle’s first and last stop. If you wanted to go to a different terminal you should have told the driver when you got in the shuttle.” … Lolz. If you scan through the hotel reviews, you'll see similar comments.
2) The Mirage (the hotel restaurant) was anything but illusory. The restaurant was, in fact, as crappy as it looked. The Mirage has all the “charms” of a small, underperforming casino, including 60 year’s worth of cigarette smoke (which haunts the carpets and the servers) and rainbow rope lights (which chase along the walls). We ate some of our food, paid for it, then walked to a nearby Subway sandwich shop to finish our dinner.
3) The hotel wasn’t dirty, but it wasn’t clean. It was good enough. The lobby has been remodeled but the rest of the hotel is very out of date. Towels are paper thin, the shower heads are oddly low, pool too cold, no jacuzzi, you have to manually press the elevator’s close button to close the elevator doors. lolz
To the poor marketing person who will no doubt reply to this google review- I want you to know that I feel your pain. Your boss compelled you to respond … to each and every google review … with pre-approved platitudes … day after day … knowing nothing will change … I see you boo.
Yes the hotel is cheap, yes the hotel is a 10 minutes drive to the airport, but you can definitely find a better hotel for the same price.

The lobby is nice and check-in staff are friendly, but that’s about where it ends. The lifts and corridors look like something out of a dystopian novel.
As a BonVoy Titanium member I was given an upgrade to a “deluxe” room, which sounded promising at first but once I opened the door I immediately wondered how room 624 can be described as anything but tired, old and very basic. The decor is well past its prime, the bathroom barely acceptable. The a/c is old and about as noisy as the engine test bay at ORD. The bed was lumpy and in all my travels I don’t think I have ever seen a duvet quite like this. Wafer thin and knotty. The pillows must have been twenty years old and were as lumpy as sacks of coal. Had I not booked this room on points (15k), I would have been very upset and I pity anyone who pays to stay here and has a similar experience. On a positive note, restaurant staff at breakfast were friendly and efficient and I was glad breakfast was free.

I am platinum elite with Marriott and wanted to stay close to the airport. We had an early fight for me and my family. We were at the airport trying to get a shuttle to the hotel. It was freezing cold and you had to wait outside for the shuttle we waited approximately 30 minutes And the shuttle pulled up and the door opened and there were at least 30 people in that shuttle (seats for 12 max) none of which staying at the hotel there were adults sitting on adults laps these were clearly not people going to the hotel. The person at the hotel said oh we’re sorry we have walk ups, there’s a parking garage next-door, it’s gonna be a rough winter. And then said “it is what it is “that is a load of garbage I stayed at this hotel because of its location and having a shuttle.

We stayed in room 543. I mention this because someone needs to go in that room and throw the chair away. The chair was stained. I started to turn over the cushion and low and behold the other side was much worse. I thought about throwing the chair out for them, but didn't want to be charged for theft. The elevator is very small, but it works. The smell of pot was lingering down the hall. The neighbors were having a great time. If we weren't so tired I would have refused to stay here. The staff was nice. I didn't mention any of the problems to the staff during our stay, mostly because I didn't think it would improve our stay. We didn't wait around for breakfast. So I can't comment on that. The place is very outdated and needs a good cleaning.

I arrived on Saturday and they had no system. With a snow storm and me with a child, the employee Maria was rude when notifying that without a system she could not check in. I asked for a driver and she told me that she was alone and she couldn't communicate with the driver. She would give me the money back but it doesn't go to the bank at the moment. That I canceled and went to another hotel as if it were that easy. Many left even pilots and stewardesses and families who arrived. After almost 2 hours he gives me the key and tells me to go back to FL if you came just to see snow. It was so rude. The bathroom pouring water and making noise all the time. Only the housekeeping Delia was friendly. I do not recommend the hotel.

Price is good for a quick room and a shuttle. Hotel is very outdated and beat up. Room didn’t smell the best but overall it did the trick!
