Would never rent here again. We flew in and let Routes know that we would like to extend our rental if possible because there was a change in our vacation plans. They told us we could not extend it at that time because we did not have our return flight booked yet, but that we could come back to drop of the car and then get help getting a second rental after we had a return flight booked. We made a reservation for the 2nd car since they would not let us extend it when we were in person. Paid in full online. We then come to return the first car and pick up the new one like we were told to do so. They told us we were on a DO NOT RENT list because we originally hadn’t had a return flight with our first booking (we now had one booked and showed the service counter). They refused to give us the rental we had already paid for.We tried to “call corporate” like they told us to do so and it was a giant waste of time. They just ended up telling us to email them a complaint. We just ended up leaving and getting a car from FOX rental company instead.Don’t waste your own time on your vacation. They were also rude and had turned away 4 other people for the same reason while we were trying to figure this all out.

I saw all bad reviews after I booked it through a third-party website and prepared for the worst. So I will start with pros:- cars I was offered were nice and clean, no issues- first car though didn't fit, I couldn't reach the pedals, lol. It took just 10 minutes to get another one. So I was supposed to get Ford and got Jeep instead, which was nice. Everybody was nice and helpful- didn't push me into buying extra insurance or other stuff, which I loved- easy and fast drop off- shuttle goes back to the terminal you depart fromCons:- shuttle doesn't pick you up directly from airport, you need to get to car rental center on a train (it's fast and free), and put an extra time in your schedule for shuttle to arrive, I was waiting for 20 minutes.- you need to print out your proof of insurance (a bit inconvenient)- you need to be other than illinois resident, have proof of flight out of Chicago and it didn't show those requirements at the time of booking through a third-party website I got those instructions after. So you need to double check with them.-in those instructions it said a limit only 200 miles so I was stressed out a bit not to overdrive, but found out later it actually unlimited. Don't know why they didn't update that.I'm general I recommend them, just do your research on their requirements before you book and I hope they will update and simplify all that process too in a future

Zero Stars. I used them to park my vehicle while I was on vacation. The process to retrieve my car took over an hour. When I got there, I was expected to find the car in the lot myself. They suggested using the car alarm to locate it. Don't expect concierge or even friendly service. They don't even wash your vehicle. Zero stars. Never again.

***Read this Review FIRST***There were many negative reviews. I had an upcoming trip from Texas to Chicago O'Hare purchased on Priceline. I got extremely nervous. So investigated and researched why so many negative reviews.1. You must be from a state OTHER THAN Illinois to rent here. Priceline and Expedia don't tell you that, but you learn it if you research just a little.2. You MUST have a credit card for the security deposit. Mine was $500. Not a debit card. Must be credit card. The security deposit pending charge falls off after you return the vehicle.3. Bring a print out of your personal car insurance (proof) from home. They want to see it.4. Bring a print out of your flight itinerary showing your departing flight. They want to see it.5. Do not turn the vehicle back in with outstanding tolls! They will charge you a penalty. They give you a paper explaining how to pay tolls and avoid the penalty. Use it!I researched these and rented a luxury Dodge RAM. It was awesome! They were great to me. I was not forced to buy any additional insurance, only what I paid for via Priceline. I returned the vehicle at 5am and their shuttle dropped me off directly at my departure terminal. You gotta research, people! Third party sites give great deals, but for a smooth, problem-free trip, a little pre-trip prep is essential.

We had a fast and easy experience flying into the O’Hare Airport and getting the shuttle to the rental location. Drivers were friendly and professional! We rented a Ram 1500 and was very surprised and pleased with the luxurious trim they offered (Longhorn). We will definitely rent with Routes again on our next trip to Chicago!

After driving the car for an hour, the tire pressure significantly decreased. I contacted the company, only to be informed that my insurance, which I purchased from them, did not cover this issue. They advised me to use the spare tire and contact a mobile tire repair service. After a five-hour wait, the repairman arrived, replaced the tire, and informed me that the spare tire was also defective. He took the deflated tire to his shop for repair. I then called the rental company to report the faulty spare tire, but was met with rudeness and indifference. The representative even threatened to hang up on me. Overall, my experience with them was extremely negative. I would strongly recommend checking everything, including the tires, before accepting a rental car from them.

I received this jeep with a cracked windshield and it was pouring down raining so I didn’t see it until the next day I was upset because I could have been issued a ticket for driving with it. I called them and they said they knew it was cracked but rented it out anyway. I was to far out at that point to bring it back for another vehicle so I kept it and it got worst the crack kept spreading. I just thought it was bad taste to issue a vehicle with a cracked windshield see pictures I have attached…

If I could leave zero stars, I would! BEWARE of this company! ROUTES CAR RENTAL SCAMMMMMM ALERT!IF YOUR FLIGHT IS LATE, THEY CONSIDER YOU A NO-SHOW! If you book on a third-party website, you cannot edit your reservation once booked, and the company arbitrarily chooses your pick-up time!! I even added my flight time on the reservation it did not change the pick-up time. THEY KNOW THIS! To the appropriate time for pick-up, my car was posted to be available at Hobby Airport, and they don't even have a pick-up there! I never picked up the car but called immediately when arriving in the city, only a few hours from website pick up, and I was charged full price.DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!! See Reviews on other pages!HORRIBLE! MiSS LEADING

You not only lost my business, but also my friend's large company's business after my purse "POOF" disappeared within 20 minutes of dropping my car off at the Schiller Park, IL facility. I had just filled up with gas at the BP down the street and put my purse on the floor of the backseat. I returned the vehicle 5 minutes later and I forgot to grab my purse. Yes, I 100% acknowledge that was my error. I did not at all expect it to be stolen by one of the workers within 20 minutes of dropping the vehicle off. If I'd had time, I would've gone back to check their dumpster. I'd say karma is going to catch up with this worker, but it obviously already has. I am sorry for the worker who did this and hope they eventually find some positivity in life.

Everything about my experience with Routes Car Rental was outstanding. From the shuttle transport from the main car rental center to their off site location; to the friendly and efficient service checking in and getting my car; to the great follow up service I received when I had to extend my rental two additional times. Cornelius and the others there were not only outstanding in making sure my customers experience was great, but it is very apparent that they enjoy working together as a team. This is something that these days is rare, but very much appreciated when we as customers experience this. People that actually enjoy each other and where they work, and are committed to providing outstanding service to their customers. I will rent from Routes again and again and I highly recommend them to other travelers. Thank you Cornelius and the team at Routes O'Hare! I'm turning in two weeks and will be renting from you all again!

I saw some bad reviews, but I took a chance on this rental company. Big mistake! The service was awful, and they wouldn't refund me for returning the car early because it couldn't go to Canada. Total letdown. ?? All their cars are pretty bruised. Do not fall for their cheap prices. It took me 1:30mins to get out of the terminal and get to their office location outside of the airport. I strongly advise to rent a car from the car rental terminal zone in the Chicago airport even if they are a bit pricey !
