“The perfect hotel for long term stays! I travel for work and this has by far been the best equipped room I’ve ever had. The one bedroom suite I stayed in had two large closets and a pantry cabinet in the kitchen. And a full-size refrigerator! I will stay here wherever I’m in Chicago again.”

“I had lunch with a friend who was new to Indian cuisine. Our waiter took the time to give us the background of the restaurant and explain multiple dishes, noting the difference in flavors and spices, and giving recommendations. He was so patient and kind, and you could tell he genuinely cared. We loved all of the dishes we ordered. The short-rib special was so delicious and huge! The lamp chops were also out of this world. Will definitely return!Dietary restrictions: All meat was halal except the chicken. Check with server or call ahead.”

“My husband and I were engaged for years and we looked at dozens of venues but we never quite connected to any place until we walked into the Nineteenth Century Club. Located in lovely Oak Park, it is directly across from a beautiful piece of land called Austin Gardens - a PERFECT location for outdoor photos.On October 8th 2022, we hosted 250+ people and you would never know it was one of the largest events the Club has hosted. Everything ran smoothly and our guests had an amazing time.Filled with antique charm but with all the modern conveniences you can ask for, we knew immediately that this was the place. We worked almost exclusively with Woody who is just phenomenal at his job. At the time of our wedding he was both the coordinator AND the chef. As a coordinator he is thorough, honest, and incredibly accommodating. He has dozens of “preferred vendors” that know this venue inside and out. As a chef - let’s just say we STILL get compliments on the food which is saying a lot as we had a Sicilian/Filipino wedding - two cultures where food is KING. It was delicious! Our experience with Woody was a blessing - so much so we consider him a friend to this day!PLEASE DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP. Take a tour. Meet with Woody. I promise you will not regret it.”

“We were in the area and remembered that Two Chefs was down the street. We have emotional ties to this restaurant because they catered our wedding in 2011 and we were very impressed with their food. The waitress greeted us at the door and was very professional, polite, and well dressed. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie, it was very flavorful. The chicken was very tender and the crust was flaky like you would expect. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli it was so delicious and brought back memories. We will be back for sure when we are in the area again. If your in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!”

This covers every aspect from the sociopolitical climate to the economic pressures that led to the Holocaust, as well as the providing a very detailed description of the events before and after the Holocaust as well. These are detailed using a variety of methods such as stories, videos, artifacts, and replicas that are thoughtfully assembled.Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about the Holocaust in an excellently maintained museum.”

“I absolutely loved my experience working with Nadia. I had my baby shower here in February and it was such a seamless and stress free process. I came with my inspiration photos and color scheme I wanted to stick to a few months in advance and The Party Spot made it happen. The price is well worth it. I only had to bring my own dj, food, and sweets.Nadia even helped keep the gifts that were received throughout the night organized. Best baby shower I could have asked for. Beyond beautiful and the best place to host an event if you don’t want to be left feeling stressed out and stretched thin.”

“I never knew this place existed until the summer when there was an event being held here.It is quite a tranquil retreat, and secret place hidden in the midst of all the busyness around it from the suburbs and the traffic It was great to find parking and walk right into the building and to our event space as well. The grounds are impeccable. The restaurants in the food are delicious, and the catering for our event was on point. The floral arrangements throughout. The property were very cute and fitting for the summer. I am not a member here however, I can see why there are members with the grounds and the offerings for boating, fishing, tennis, etc. If I have an opportunity to host an event, I would definitely consider this place for sure for personal as well as even professional events. To note the staff who were the waiters and the bartender, and the manager, for the event, or very attentive, and very good.”

“I am the owner of Moving N Grooving DJs and I had the absolute pleasure of DJing a wedding in this place last night. This was my first time here and my first time meeting Michael and his staff. All I can say is WOW!!!!!This place is massive and amazing! The thing that stood out to me the most was how welcoming and kind Michael and ALL of his staff were. I do about 70 + weddings a year and I'm at a lot of different venues and believe it or not but a good number of venues don't treat vendors well! Michael and his staff were so kind and welcoming to me and all other vendors. You can just tell there is something different going on here and it's refreshing to see that there are still venues that don't treat vendors like 2nd hand help.If your thinking about booking this place the above is important because it speaks to the character of people behind your event! “We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Carlisle in November of 2023. As most people, we looked at multiple venues to select the best one for our special day. After visiting several locations, we went to The Carlisle and from the moment we entered we knew this was the one. The Carlisle is very elegant with a lot of mirrors and crystal chandeliers and after meeting with the event planner we were sold. Laura Papa was welcoming, professional and explained everything clearly. She answered all our questions with great detail and made suggestions, but never tried to upsell us. We had found the perfect place for our wedding! Every time we met with Laura, we became more sure that the Carlisle was superior to all other venues. My husband to be, wanted the evening to be magical for me and magical it was! Laura and the staff at the Carlisle were phenomenal. They listened to what we wanted and delivered beyond our expectations. We highly recommend The Carlisle to anyone looking for an elegant, well-run establishment to host any event. “We visited here as it was on the Frank Lloyd Wright map, and although he wasn't the architect, we were still interested to see the work of one of his contemporaries. We were greeted by Theresa, who took us on a tour of the whole house which lasted around an hour and a half. Theresa was so lovely and it was an absolute pleasure to meet and be guided by her. She was so knowledgeable about the house and the families who had lived there, and my partner and I walked away feeling like we had learned so much. The house itself is full of surprises and interesting quirks, and Theresa did a brilliant job of bringing it to life for us. We absolutely loved our time there, but also feel sad that a house of such historical importance isn't receiving the funding needed to fully restore it. I really recommend taking this tour, as not only will you enjoy learning about this amazing house, you will also be helping to preserve its place in history.”

“The food here is awesome. You won’t find generic Sysco bar food here. Everything seems to be made in house and fresh. Homemade salad dressings always do it for me too. Plus they have a kids menu. The atmosphere is fun and cozy and I especially love the Loosey Juicy and Finnley Dunne drafts. More people should know about this place so do your self a favor and try it out!”
