Not an amazing campground per se, but for the price and the surroundings it is ok. We used the laundry facility and both washers and both dryers were working. There are fishing ponds right there and for $7 the entire family can fish (license is good for a year). The area itself is well maintained and close to the golf course and the rubbery walking/running track. There isn’t sewer hookups but a dump station right there (several people had a portable sewage tank to transport and dump), and of course there is no WiFi. With WiFi and full hookups this place would be amazing.
WiFi - None
AT&T Cell Signal - OK (a couple bars)

This is a favorite near St Louis.. quiet and have 2 lakes. Plenty of frogs, birds, and you can bring your own kayak (no motorized vehicles on the water). MWR also have other things to do such as Archery

Overall, it's not a good campground, which is disappointing. Laundry facilities have been out of service for 1 month so far. Last night the water stopped working (looks like somebody hit a tap with theor vehicle and they cut off water to the half the camp ground instead of just usolating the borken tap), and there is no number to report issues during off hours to look into moving spots. If you have anything towed over 30ft you will struggle with many of the spots and in result, many spots are full of ruts (and the now damaged tap). Maybe good for a 1 or 2 night stay but staying here TDY has been very difficult, and unfortunately there are no other options for us. Whoever is in charge of recreation services really should do better. On the plus side the staff are very nice on the phone when making reservations. Also met one of the maintained guys last week and he was very nice to talk to.
Edit 4/13 i decided to bump this up from 2 stars to 3. The water incident was the on call water company who felt the need to punish everybody instead of just isolating the affected spot. Supposedly they are fixing the washing machines this weekend so we will see if that actually gets resolved soon.

Other than no sewer hookup at your site, this is a nice peaceful famcamp!

thankfully they still have tent sites, and it was beautiful! But it is a long walk to bathrooms and no campfire rings.

Like all military family camps, you need the appropriate ID to even get in this Camp is a little on the smaller side, I believe they had 24 spacious. However, the spaces were well separated so you didn't feel you were piled into close to any of your neighbors. The roads going into the park as well as all the sites are paved, although some of the spaces were a little off level. The bathrooms were really big and well maintained and the laundry room even though it only had two washers and two dryers was in Nice condition as well. At $1.50 for washing, you can't go wrong. There was no camp host that we saw, and you have to do site rental up to 30 days in advance. We enjoyed ourcstay- electric was flawless, and our site (24) was well shaded. The park is way back in the corner of the base, so it's private and secure.

What a great looking place to camp. That moved it up to a one star review. Called for availability and made a reservation. The individual I spoke.to said.an email with everything I would need would be in my inbox soon. That didn't happen. Said my campsite would be marked with my name. Didn't happen. After searching both loops and talking to some.of.the.other campers they had not seen any staff in the afternoon to update sites. There was.only one site not reserved so we backed into it and camped for the night. Went to use the facilities and the word that came to mind was.discuting. Mold on the shower curtain, scum on the floors. Overall bad experience.

First the gate shame on the guards. They are not very helpful in directing the large campers through the proper gate. There is a commercial entrance for larger vehicles but it was blocked off because the guards were to lazy to open it to let you through. Instead they force you to go through an entrance that is like threading a needle. Camp grounds looks like it hasn't been mowed in months. Mosquitoes are horrible and are just loving the tall grass. There a huge holes along the road where the larger campers could not make the turn. From what I can see not a whole lot of maintenance being done The site are not level so be prepared to do the best you can. There is no septic but there is a dump station. You will also need your own wifi source. All in all very poor for a military base campground. Scott's famcamp should be ashamed. We camped at Scott AFB FamCamp in a Motorhome

Nice place to stay. We stayed here while visiting St. Louis. Took the tram downtown. $5 ride all day
