Vehicle that I reserved was not available. The two employees working at this location were very rude and unprofessional. Instead, they seemed to want to put the blame on me. I guess it was my fault, for wanting to give them my business.

Rented a car from there 2 years ago. Fast, easy, great service. Excellent price for the 2 weeks we had the car. Gonna rent from them again before end of year.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I don't. Know that I specifically blame the Shorewood location for all the issues we faced, but I can't write a general Google review for Avis as a whole. After all the hassle (initially told it wouldn't be a problem to getting a call the morning of pick to be told they only had an 8 passenger suv to then being told the did have a 12 passenger van) of actually getting the 12 passenger van in July that I reserved the October prior, we notice the tires are bald and isn't safe to drive to Florida from Illinois. The van is towed back and I am sent an Uber to take me to O'hare airport to get another 12 passenger van. Turns out they don't have a 12 passenger van and all they can give me is a midsize suv that seats 7. We get a plan figured out with a personal vehicle of someone in our group and the 7 passenger vehicle will get to us at the end of the trip when we have fewer people coming back from Florida with us. The day the 7 passenger vehicle is planning to leave Illinois, there is a flat tire on it. Avis supplies another 7 passenger vehicle and tows the second defective vehicle the rented to us. Upon finally returning to Illinois, Avis then wants to charge us for returning the vehicle to O'hare. Now they are charging us for supposed tire damage on the vehicle returned. I will never rent from Avis again.

The worst place ever. i hope if i can give 0 Star because i drove 45mi to get there and they told me we cancel all the reservations and i didn’t get any emails from them . I don’t recommend anyone to go there very very bad service

I want to start off this by saying that Alex and Justin were extremely helpful and they’re phenomenal at their job. I’ve had 3 different rentals from this location in the last month. I checked my bank account this morning and realized I was charged more than I should’ve. When I asked Alex what the charge was for, there was nothing in the system he could see. I called customer service and they told me it said “cleaning fee DON’T REMOVE”. When I dropped the 2nd car off, the employee (don’t know their name) said “leave the keys I’ll take care of the rest” and didn’t give a receipt or anything. I know for a fact the car was cleaned and they didn’t even put pictures of the “mess”. Customer service refunded me with no issues luckily. I recommend this location but keep an eye on your bank account and I would recommend taking picture of the cleaned car before leaving.

I rent 2 cars from this place to drive uber, the first one was a Toyota Camry and I used for 2 weeks, it smell like cigarette but it was manageable and I hate strong smells. The second one was a Chevy Bold AUV they gave it to me dirty and we a strong smell, that day there was a big truck park in front and they count clean it, with I said ok I clean it, I try everything and still smell really bad, I went to change it for another one and they said they don’t have another car available, and Alex told me that he gave me the car clean without smell, it was “brand new”, with is not true, so make sure you check really good before thanking a car, make a video if you can. Im not renting here anymore…

I recently had the pleasure of renting a car from Avis in Shorewood, IL, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless and efficient, making my rental process stress-free.The customer service representatives were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. They answered all of my questions and provided me with useful information about the rental car, including the features and safety precautions. Moreover, they were patient and understanding when I needed to make some changes to my reservation.The rental car itself was in excellent condition, very clean and well-maintained, and it drove smoothly. I was very pleased with the selection of cars available, and the process of picking up and returning the car was quick and easy.Overall, I would highly recommend Avis car rental in Shorewood, IL, for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient rental car service. The customer service was exceptional, the car was in great condition, and the rental process was effortless. I will definitely be returning to Avis in the future for all of my rental car needs.

Avoid this location at all costs. I am a Presidents Club member of Avis, which basically means I rent a lot of cars from them. I’ve interacted with this location 3 times and have had issues each time. The location claims they do not follow the same rules and policies as other Avis locations. When issues arise, the manager is always out of the country and unreachable and the employees claim they cannot do anything but check cars in and out. On one occasion I had confirmed and paid for a SUV, the location gave me a compact. They claimed I didn’t have an SUV reservation, I showed them the confirmation and they continued to give me the run around. On another occasion I had picked up my vehicle and the gas tank was far from full. I called this out before I left and the agent confirmed the fuel level. I was promised a credit and notes would be placed on the account. When I returned the vehicle with a full tank I was told they would not honor the credit. My experience with the staff at this location is aggressive, rude and lacking all aspects of basic customer service skills. Avis overall is a good company, but if you don’t want a headache take the time to bypass this location.

Here we go again. Show up and they don't have my car reserved but forcing me to upgrade to a more "premium" car for $50 more (it's a junk blazer that has a check engine light and is literally rattling in the interior on my 5min drive home). Forcing upgrades should be illegal and there's a line of people behind me making me feel bad for spending time on fighting this so I took it. Shame on Avis for being a shitty experience pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

I called before hand asked them do they have any cars the guy Alex said yes we do.. I drove 40 mins and go there.. guest what . ( lo and behold) Alex ran my information and said the he didn’t have any cars.. I told Alex I was leaving a bad review. He responded (just like everyone else) taking further action abd this branch will live out the true meaning of its creed. Disappointed wasted gas, time, and energy.
