“This location used to be a County Market years ago. Now it’s a partial grocery store and partial resale store. A lot of people like this store but I’m confused why some of the groceries are so expensive here when it’s supposed to be like a safe haven for people experiencing poverty.
Yes prices are rising everywhere nowadays but check out the prices on the photos I posted here. Over $9 for some peppers? ?
Not the store’s fault but people steal carts from this store often (see photo)
But thank you to Salt and Light for being a place with food in this region of Urbana that is considered a “food desert””
“This is a small thrift store located in the middle of a historic Urbana neighborhood. Most items were pretty worn, but there were some treasures sprinkled throughout. The book selection was surprisingly great! The store itself is very hard to navigate, and you'll find yourself saying excuse me every other minute trying to get around another shopper. Check out was easy and efficient.”
“Great place to ride and go for lessons! I have learned so much and will continue going here, I am a working student there and they will teach you everything you need to know, there really flexible about almost anything. The owners Larissa and her mother Annette are super friendly and nice and you will leave everytime knowing something new. Its really is a great place they love and care for all of there students.”
