This was my first experience with physical therapy of any kind. My intake was performed at ATI's Niles location, and all subsequent sessions were in Skokie. The good:- Professional, competent and thoughtful physical therapists;- Friendly and responsive management, both at this facility, and at Niles and their Bolingbrook corporate office;- Clean, well-appointed facilities. The not-so-good:- During my time at this facility I was treated by four different PTs. It wasn't until several weeks into my therapy that one PT identified themselves as my "primary," and from then on was consistently available to me. Prior to that the communication between my PTs was limited, even dysfunctional, with each PT assigning me their own at-home exercises seemingly unaware of, or misinformed regarding the exercises I was already performing. This was dispiriting, especially when I'd accrued over a dozen exercises I thought I was obliged to work through daily.- A personalized web portal called MedBridge was presented to me as a resource for my at-home exercises and progress. I liked MedBridge, I liked having my exercises available online, but I soon realized that not all of my PTs used it, and those that did appeared not know how to use it properly. In the end, MedBridge became frustratingly unreliable and I stayed with my paper printouts instead.- It wasn't unusual for my PTs to be attending to another client at the same time as me. Given what ATI was billing my insurance provider, consistent one-on-one would have been appreciated--and expected. (One PT confided that ATI was having trouble hiring PTs and that most of the PTs currently at the facility were independents.)- During my intake, the facility manager wanted to charge me a $10 fee payable immediately. I advised him that my insurance card says, "Please do not collect $ at time of service," but I was told the $10 fee was not a co-pay, rather it was "co-insurance." I subsequently learned that the fee was really a pre-pay that applied against the total bill. At their request I gave them my credit card so they could auto-debit $10 for each session. Problem was that after several weeks the debits mysteriously stopped, and ATI Skokie told me they had no record of my credit card despite my having provided it several weeks earlier. I gave them my credit card again, and several weeks later they "lost" it again. Thereafter I refused to provide my card, telling them to instead call ATI corporate and work it out with them. To ATI's credit, they never bothered me about the pre-pays again.- This last thing was explained to me by ATI corporate as a marketing error: after about six sessions I received an email from ATI congratulating me on my "great progress" and proclaiming that I was, "close to reaching my goal!" Neither was true. Again, ATI owned it as a mistake, but dispiriting nonetheless.

My experience has been very positive through the first 4 sessions. My therapist is very polite and attentive. She has me push enough to work hard, but not too much to cause pain. I'm already noticing improvement and will likely be able to avoid surgery.

4 weeks after having my knee replacement, I started PT at ATI in Skokie. I’ve been going 2 weeks now and feeling great. I am walking much better without cane, can move faster, and feeling stronger. All the PT staff are great, friendly and striving to provide the best care for me. I recommend this place to anyone who need any Physical Therapy, regardless of injury/surgery. They are truly the best. Thank you ATI staff for helping me get better and making sure i can move with my new knee.Mirha H

I was feeling much better after 8 weeks and made great progress with my neck pain. I can't recommend this clinic enough!Michele Zygman is one of the wonders of the modern world. I have been to so many different physical therapists through the years, and I am so grateful I found her. We exchanged stories from the week, baking recipes, and lots of great exercises as we worked together. Emma and Rachel were also delights-coming to this practice for my workouts was joyful, not a chore. Next time you need PT, go to ATI Skokie!

The therapy model is set up to stack several patients at the same time, so rather than a therapist spending one on one time and choosing the best treatment option for each patient, their attention is highly divided, and they spend more time keeping patients “occupied” than giving them the most effective treatment.

The people are well-trained...one at least has a PhD in physical therapy, and are all a pleasure to work with. Productive sessions - who could ask for more

ATI on Dempster in Skokie, Illinois goes above and beyond to create an environment that makes me feel safe and cared for, and are helping me reclaim my life! With encouraging compassionate care, they use a variety of different therapies and exercises so that I am always engaged, making progress, and am never bored. The exercises they give me to do at home are simple, don’t require special equipment, and empower me to take control of my recovery. Thanks to ATI, I am no longer languishing, and I have hope that I can and will walk again - unassisted - and live without pain.

I wasn't a believer in physical therapy until I went to ATI in Skokie and met Michele Z. Michele brought me back to full health in just a few weeks, she understood my issue and how to alleviate my discomfort and the best way to cure it. I felt stronger, lighter on my feet and healthier as a result of my time here. I've recommended ATI / Michele to many family members and friends and they've all had the same results. You're wasting your time going anywhere else!

Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They even help me get in from my car. Michelle and Simon are great therapists, and have helped me to get back on my feet. They are very experienced, and all the staff has been friendly there. They make my therapy fun and beneficial. I have been improving, and plan on staying there until my PT is finished.

Don’t go here unless you want to be fleeced. I spent thousands of dollars over insurance payments to them for a torn right shoulder rotator cuff. They said it would be better after therapy. Really? Nothing better and I am out by thousands of dollars and not better. Professional people would have told me the truth that I needed shoulder replacement surgery. Don’t waste your time with these money grubbing idiots.
