OK this is the review specifically on the café only. This is a hidden gem that not many people know about; you can sit inside or out. Once you order at the counter, it is like a regular restaurant where they bring the food to you and to make sure everything is OK. Our waiter was amazing!!!! I had the salmon and my boyfriend have the chicken and they were both very very good! I want to gate keep the kitchen sink cookies as they are absolutely amazing and ours just came out right out of the oven, soft and gooey and chocolatey no picture because it was gone already

Title: Disappointing Customer Service Experience at NordstromRating: (2 out of 5 stars)I recently visited the men's department at Nordstrom in Skokie and unfortunately had a disappointing customer service experience. My husband and I were visiting our son who is graduating from Northwestern and needed a new dress shirt and slacks. Throughout our entire visit, no sales associate approached me, my husband or our son to offer assistance or inquire if we needed any help this was particularly evident in the men's suit section. This lack of proactive engagement left us feeling ignored and undervalued as customers.One of the main reasons people choose to shop at Nordstrom is for their exceptional customer service. However, on this particular occasion, the staff seemed disinterested. Despite browsing through various sections of the department, we were never approached or greeted by any salesperson. Those that passed us by didn't even offer a smile. The absence of personalized attention made it challenging to locate specific items or seek advice on product options. We were left to navigate on our own, which ultimately diminished the shopping experience and deterred us from making any significant purchases.As a regular Nordstrom customer, I have come to expect a higher level of customer service that goes beyond just meeting basic needs. Nordstrom has built a reputation for providing exceptional assistance and ensuring customers feel valued and supported throughout their shopping experience. However, this recent encounter failed to live up to those expectations. We will not be returning to this Nordstrom!

I love Nordstrom and have loved it since they first opened this particular location at old Orchard and Skokie. While it has undergone some renovations throughout the years, I think my biggest disappointment was when they removed the piano and the live piano player. Missing that ambience I think has never been replaced.The restaurants are great over the years. I've had different options, but the café that does remain as great as well as the coffee shop. I wish they had a real bar area like some of the other Nordstrom's that I wish the coffee shop offered real food again like they used to. Not just the pastries. The reason I love this place is because we have been very loyal to several employees here, who just go above and beyond all the time, and those with a handful that make this particular Nordstrom extra special.

After about 10 minutes looking for a sales person on a 2 nd floor- finally found one, asked her a question and was directed to designer corner, person at designer area send us back, two of them talked for a minute- and none of them knew where to find Canada Goose jacket for women. We left.On the way home- stopped at Neiman Marcus. Sales person showed us what they had, got correct size- and we were on our way home, with new jacket for spring for my wife- excellent service, exactly what expected from a store that sell $795 plus tax jackets.Thank you Neiman Marcus

This store is amazing. These days spending my time in the infant department, I can honestly say their stuff is well trained in knowledge on products and of course the big one customer service.I can enough about employee Carmen N in the kids department. She's always kind with a smile on her face and is always super helpful!!I frequent like location about every 2-3 weeks and end up getting some wonderful quality items for our son.I hop into the Men's department here and there and get the same wonderful treatment as I do in the Kids department. The store is clean and is accessible and also has a ridiculous amount of spaces on south entrance for curbside pick ups.This location is legit!

Nothing specific, a very regular Nordstrom store. The good thing is, there are a few sits over there on the second floor, so you can take a rest. Everything else is regular.

Nordstrom has most of the brands that I like. Hugo is one of them. I prefer go to this location to try and select the right size fits me. I had a great winter break in Chicago. It's cold outside but inside Nordstrom is always warm. The customer service at Nordstrom is always good. Their staff ironed my new pants after checkout. Such a great experience! Who wouldn't like it! I barely see Hugo on a big sale. But it's worth every penny. Even I spent $248, but it's totally worth it!

This review is specifically about the Jo Malone counter and the amazing employee working it on Monday 04/04/2022.My mom and I drove from STL to Glenview as we do every few years to get away on a mini vacation. It's close enough to home that we can go back if needed but far enough to rest, eat, and shop - which is all we wanted to do. We found this incredible outdoor shopping mall and gave it a shot, entering in through Nordstrom. We passed a Jo Malone counter and I flew to it instantly; I'd never seen one in person and only heard about their beautiful scents. I'm by no means a scent expert but it's one of the few things that I enjoy purchasing to pamper myself. Nothing makes you feel quite like a good perfume!The woman working the counter (so sorry, we didn't get her name) was patient, kind, and quite helpful. I explained that I was just browsing as I excitedly pointed out the famous candles and bottles I'd seen online. She suggested some scents to me and sprayed them for me to sample, and they were all great, so I was having trouble deciding. She explained she had a teenaged daughter at home and recommended her favorite scent - Scarlet Poppy - and I fell in love instantly.Ended up leaving with the smaller bottle for around $130 and two sample packs, one for me and one for my mom!Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's only something I'll treat myself to occasionally. But honestly, the service was phenomenal and I felt very welcomed, like chatting with an old friend. It was a refreshing change from the usual Nordstrom treatment you get when rolling into Nordstrom looking a little worse for wear.We will be back - and please give that wonderful woman a promotion!

This department store chain has been coping rather well with pandemic-era challenges and the great migration to online shopping. I miss the early years when this store catered to a more mature clientele. It used to be like a Von Maur; elegant and with live piano music wafting through the atrium. Fine Jewelry, the Gift Gallery, and Customer Service/Gift Wrap used to have their own separate rooms. Walls no longer separate the various departments; everything is intermingled. Piped-in rock, polished concrete floors, and fashion cater to a more recent generation. But thank goodness, the high quality of the merchandise and attentive service were never compromised. My Missus is a big devotee of their current Nordy Club Rewards program. The shopping experience here is somewhat reminiscent of the late, great Marshall Field's.
