Called ahead to see if they could do an exchange without a receipt. They confirmed with their manager that they could. Couple days later, drove half an hour there only to be told that they couldn’t. The items were brand new and had tags. They found the items on my account. They still sold those items in store (just not the right size). Employee needed manager to make the exchange. Manager could have made the exchange but chose not to. She didn’t acknowledge their mistake over the phone and was unapologetic, unhelpful, and judgey. Apparently they have a strict 30 day policy. I’ve purchased thousands in merchandise over the years and rarely return items. When I called customer service, they said the store has discretion but is separate from the “umbrella company” so can’t enforce anything. The return items were no more than $50 and I was planning to buy $270. Manager made a passive aggressive comment and assumed I wouldn’t go through with my new purchase. I’m sure they could care less about my business given this behavior, and it worked. I won’t shop here again. Quality has gone down anyway.

I was at the Old Orchard store and it was a madhouse! The sale items were wonderful and Lexi was calm and collected as I checked out even as an angry, crabby entitled woman behind me was berating her to “hurry up! How long this gonna take?”Lexi remained kind and helpful and full of the Christmas spirit despite this grinch of a woman. Thanks Lexi for being so professional.

Walked in about an hour ago, looking for a dress shirt. Did not get approached to see if I needed help. Waited around to see if someone could help me and no one did. Probably the worst customer service I have experienced at any j crew, and I’ve been to at least 5 of them. Was expecting better, especially from such a respected brand name in clothing.

I am a frequent client of jcrew's old orchard store but I won't be going back again. Last week I bought a pretty expensive sweater at the store. I brought it back today because after wearing it once, It got a hole in it due bad craftsmanship. The manager and associate did not only refuse to give me a store credit, but treated me with indifference and hostility. What ever happen to the customer is right? I'll spend my money at the competition from now on.

I ordered a full price jacket. Before I wore it, about 2 weeks after it was marked down 30%. I called to see if the sale price would be honored. I was told to visit the store, return and rebuy the item. This made no sense to me. I called back. What followed was a ridiculous series of redundant calls and emails about how sale items can not be marked down further and once a coupons is used that's it. Each time I explained that was not the case. Can they even read? This was corporate, not the store. You would think it would be better? Do not buy anything there unless it is on sale. If you like it - wait a week. It will be half the price.

I visited the j crew store in old orchard today. I am a frequent j crew shopper however my recent visit to this j crew was disappointing to say the least. Upon entering the store, I was not once greeted. I found several items that I was interested in purchasing. I was carrying my items around the store searching for the dressing room, feeling quite lost. I encountered a male that worked at the store who paused and gave me a very dirty look, did not say a word and continued on his way. I found an item that wasn't in my size so i asked a female associate for assistance regarding sizing. I asked if a specific size was available and she immediately responded and said "hm, no". I left the store without buying anything as I felt very uncomfortable and disappointed is the terrible customer service. I will not be visiting this jcrew again.
