I bought a computer for school right before the holidays for my class that started mid-January. It was glitchy. It would freeze up. Restart. I lost essays. Had only been using it for about a week. I spoke with my boss and she agreed to let me use my work computer from for school instead. As a working single mom who is trying to finish her degree, and with all of the weather related issues, and the fact that I didn’t use it until the course started over a month after I bought it, I missed the return window by ten days. The store manager refused to let me get my money back. He said I could take a store credit or he would “prefer to get me into a new computer that better suited my needs.” I explained I didn’t need a new one.I’ve done management. I get it that there are numbers you need to hit but I really needed this money back. I went to Best Buy instead of Amazon because I figured I’d support the last of the brick and mortar stores and if I had an issue I could talk to a live person who would understand. I should have went online instead. I asked if he could please make an exception and ask corporate office and he said “all they will tell you is to come to the store and we will take care of you and this is the best I can do for you.” It stinks that we can’t stick together right now.

Keep your receipt, or otherwise you're screwed. Pair of Sony headphones I've had under a year are now a waste of $150 because their system has zero record of my purchase, and I was told there's absolutely nothing they can do about it.Absolute joke of a company, always has been and always will be.

I had an employee immediately greet me at the door and ask if I needed anything, which I was really hoping for because I was incredibly nervous. Had no idea how pickup worked. I had to wait a while, there were 2 employees working for geek squad, but none for pick up for about 5 minutes. Someone helped me and they were so kind :)

Very rude door man. Name started with a J or G. They made me wait for an hour before I could get someone to help me and I am not exaggerating. Not sure I'm going to do my business with them anymore and I have been doing it there since they opened. They are not about the customer anymore nor are their products a best buy.

Giovanny from the geek squad is incredibly helpful!! Went above and beyond for me to help me find a receipt, went as far as looking through their sale log from 2 weeks to make sure he found it. Great customer service!

Better off ordering off Amazon, less money for same product, I stood at the surround sound area for at least 15 minutes and no one even inquired if we needed help. Asked some guy with a Best Buy shirt and he said he would send someone over. After yet another 15 minutes never saw a single person, not even helping other customers. I mentioned ordering off Amazon for their complete lack of service and failure to help customers and the guy didn't even care he just said well have a nice day and turned away.

As a Christmas present I was gifted a Samsung flat screen TV. The tv was purchased a week before Christmas and not opened to be installed until after new years. When we finally got the chance to install this tv there was a scratch on the screen and only half of the tv screen displayed an image. The very next day we headed over to Best Buy in south Elgin and spoke to the manager Giovanny. He stated that they could not exchange this tv because it had been past two weeks. Mind you, on the original recipe that we had stated that we COULD exchange the item until January 15th. He then directed us to Best Buy corporate in hopes that they would resolve our no issue. We then called Best Buy corporate and they confirmed that they indeed had to exchange this product for a new undamaged one. He still refused to accept the exchange even after having had spoken to the lady from corporate that we were on the phone with . He stated that the information she had Given us was false. Varies times we asked if we could speak to the general manager over the course of 2 1/2 hours and he refused to come out. They kept arguing that since the box was in perfect condition that they were not liable for exchanging the product. However, when the product was packaged could have been the underlying caused damaged. The general manager had giovanny(manager) call the breach’s team to verify the information. Where they told him that the information from corporate was indeed correct.This situation was dealt in a very unprofessional manner as we never received an apology nor got a chance to speak with the general manager after having been there for several hours. I recommend to not purchase any electronics from this location as they will not care to solve any of your issues. Terrible customer service.
