Too loud for me (70 year old grandmother) and too hot. It was a nice pool for the children receiving instruction there. People at front desk were very nice.

Once at the shark level or higher, the instructors don’t get in the pool with the kids. They only verbally correct the kids (mind you this is while yelling in a pool area that’s loud and echos). I like when they are in the water showing them like the other levels. Also I don’t care for the 5 min playtime which takes away from swim time at this level. Myself and other folks have given this feedback. The instructors change pretty frequently with management hardly at this location anymore. Personally I think the quality has deteriorated.

Monica and the rest of the swim instructors at British Swim School are amazing!! I can not say enough good things about them. They are engaging, they are able to calm the fears of the children in their care. They do survival skills in and around the water every so many weeks and they kids learn so much! If you are looking for somewhere to send your kids too this is a wonderful place to go!

I never got the opportunity to learn to swim as a kid. I've always wanted to learn but life has always gotten in the way. After returning from vacation last year, I made it my goal to learn to swim.I've been going to British Swim School in South Elgin now for about 8 months on and off. In looking for schools, scheduling was my biggest issue. British Swim School has been very accommodating. I am able to reschedule my classes with just a few hours of notice. All the instructors are very friendly, professional, and respectful. Learning to swim as an adult was not an easy thing for me at the beginning because of my age and fitness level but all the instructors see past that and are there to genuinely help you.If you're an adult who never learned to swim, I highly recommend British Swim School, especially their South Elgin location!

The cost for classes has risen by $55 per month in one year. There is no justification to this cost as most of the instructors fail to properly do their jobs. They don't have the kids follow basic swim instructions if there are more than 2 kids in a class. The instructors can't handle multiple children. It took almost a year just to move my child up one level, which is too long. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. We moved swim schools because the price kept raising. The cost is not competitive to the other swim schools around. You're getting ripped off.

They are slowly opening up the pools and although the South elgin is not open , we were given options! I decided to try the pool at the instructors Ms.Monicas residence! The pool was extremely clean and warm and Monica is careful scheduling classes so no other kids were there when we went! Monica was wearing a shield through the class! The kids enjoyed and I am super comfortable continuing this !

My daughter (5 years old at the time) was a screamer when she started. She cried when asked to float or put her face in the water. The instructors were patient and supportive. They built up her confidence and trust. Today at 7 she was just moved to swim team. Wow what a difference. Can't speak highly enough of the instructors we have had. We've had a great experience. They have fun events every 8 weeks or so and other loyalty bonuses. Thanks BSS!
