John's Elgin Market is a premier and ancient go-to spot for game-meat processing, with a history in the area stemming back to the post-civil-war era. It is about as American as it gets for the outdoors. Conveniently located just off Route 20, it takes care of local processing for many hunters across Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The team provides great service and are great people, known for making experiences special. Reviewers consistently report the best experiences, with fast processing often completed in less than a week. The quality of the final product is regularly praised as fantastic and perfect. This includes the best chops ever, a perfect grind on burger, amazing jerky, and the best snack sticks. The seasoning in brats and sausage and the smoke on hams are also highlighted. All products are packaged nicely, wrapped twice in butcher paper, and neatly taped for long freezer storage. The price is noted as being on point. This amazing family-owned business receives the highest recommendations. Customers state they will definitely be back, will bring their entire family, and will recommend it to all fellow local hunters. It is a wonderful place with a team that provides a blessing of service.
Small place, but has a good variety. I think this is the first time I went there. It is in a more of an industrial district, but easy to find. It is frozen items beside the jerky. Very pleasant staff.

There butchering is very good. The sticks they make are the best. No tough plastic skin. Just meat. Second to none. Jalopeno Cheddar are my favorite.
