I spent a couple of hours picking out item to purchase from your store. It was great that I was able to find everything that I was looking for only to get to the check out and there was nobody to take my money! THERE WAS NOT EVEN ONE CHECKER ON DUTY! I had to scan, look up my items, bag my items and wait to ask for help when I had issues. It made me mad that you did not even give me a discount for saving you labor!!! The elderly gentleman behind me was in a wheelchair, could not reach the conveyer belt and did not have the skills to scan his own items. I helped him check out. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I can promise you this. I will NEVER walk into another Wal-Mart unless there is no other options. I have cancelled my Sam's card, and many of my friends are following the same. You should be ashamed of yourself..............

I was at the Walmart in Sparta, IL on 3/18/21 with my sister-in-law and we spent about an hour shopping for groceries and stuff for Easter by the time we were both finished we had our carts completely filled and proceeded to check out. None of the checkout lanes were open and everyone was being forced to use the self checkout lanes. I am used to having to do this early in the morning and after 10 PM at night but at 3:00 PM on a Thursday I was surprised. I don't mind using self checkouts if I have just a few items but a shopping cart full of stuff is another story. We were not the only customers standing around complaining. There were six employees manning the self checkouts, 1 employee sitting by the shopping carts counting the number of people coming in and out of the store and two people working the customer service desk. I can't begin to understand why at least 1 regular check out lane was open. I asked one of the customer service workers why none of the check out lanes were open and he said "Because of Covid they had a lot employees out and no one to work the registers." I was shocked and pissed that the front end manager did not pull someone from a self checkout to open a regular register. I estimated that I had over $300.00 in groceries and another $200.00 in Easter items in my cart and there was no way I was going to self checkout after spending that much money. Rather than complain to the customer service rep I simply turned around and pointed to my near overflowing cart and told him they needed to restock the merchandise. If you are planning on shopping at this Walmart I would suggest you call ahead and ask if they are manning the registers. I would also like to suggest to the store manager that they have a sign or an employee at the front doors to alert customers that the only checkout lanes that are open are the self checkouts. Customers need to be alerted before they spend an extended amount of time shopping. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Sparta Walmart.

This place is one of the only Wal-Mart's that I like. A lot of the surrounding towns to Sparta do not have a lot of stores to go to for everyday shopping so this Wal-Mart is very convenient. This Wal-Mart has been a round for many years & Sparta has grown around it. In the years that this Wal-Mart has opened a lot of businesses have opened up either across the street or very close to this Wal-Mart. In terms of selection & price it is Wal-Mart so it is hard to beat. This Wal-Mart was one of the first Supercenters that I have seen. They have everything from clothes, electronics to groceries & an automotive center. The parking lot here is huge so it is pretty easy to get in & out of. Out of all of the Wal-Mart's I have been to this Wal-Mart is one of the only one that I actually thought was a good experience. The selection here is very big & they seem to have more items than a lot of the other Wal-Mart's. Overall this Wal-Mart is very convenient & has a very big selection. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

I needed a few items and I thought I would run into Walmart. I normally don't purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. I found nice looking selection. But since I have gotten home, everyone of the banana's has been rotten on the inside. I was pleased that I could find quinoa and hummus.
