First time, able to select your own clay items to paint and choose your own colors. It can be tedious based on how detailed the item but it’s soothing and satisfying from electronic distractions. Recommend for all, single, couplet or groups. I look forward to seeing the final product after baking. They offer other activities as well.

The pottery is under new ownership and I really had a great time painting pottery with my kids. Some pieces cost more, but I painted some little pieces for around 10 dollars. Their pottery is more unusual and the results are stunning. We painted a plate, a tile and some Halloween decorations and it was a good enough price. We went before the new owners began and it was fine but I like the chill vibe of the current ones even more. Also a shop next store where I found some wonderful earrings.

A mixed bag for us. The first visit was perfect! Nancy was super nice and helpful with extra glaze and more paper towels. Second visit was not as nice - super hot in the corner table near the window. It was hard to stay and finish glazing our pieces - quite uncomfortable. Here’s my reason for 3 stars: when we picked up our pieces a week after our second visit, my plate was chipped! It was chipped either in loading (probably) or unloading the kiln as the glaze was gone and it was a pretty noticeable chip! Who pays $13 plus $8 studio fee (total of $21) for a chipped dessert size plate?!! When I pointed out the chip, John mentioned adding varnish (that was so awkward) if, get this, “the chip bothers me”. Really?? I wouldn’t buy a chipped plate from a retail store, why would I want one from China Towne??? For this reason, I don’t anticipate returning. Sorry, Kim.

I was gonna go to this place it looked like a lovely place. When I called the lady was very rude on the phone and gave me an attitude when I was just asking questions about if they were open and if you put a reservation online.

I took my kids painting a week ago, the worker said next Sunday the ceramics would be ready. I arrive Sunday afternoon, only to have 2 of my items ready, 1 missing. The lady says oh sorry i must have mixed it up with another batch. So she states it won’t even be cooled off today. I said why didn’t someone call me? But i received no explanation! No compensation or anything for the disappointment my 8 yr old son has. He was so excited to get this today. Now I’m told it’ll be ready tomorrow (Monday), but i work all week and can’t make it in during their open hours. I also told her i don’t even live close to this area, did she offer to meet me somewhere to bring it? No of course not. I at least would have expected a call if my items were not ready, that way i wouldn’t have wasted the time driving out there. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We won’t be returning!
