Overall a good experience in getting my problem fixed, flexible with the pricing and overall pretty honest. Only bad thing was that I waited for about 6 hours-which not very ideal.

I took my car to Firestone to check out a squealing noise from one of the belts. After the inspection, I noticed my car's idle was acting up, rising and falling while I was driving home. This wasn’t a problem before. I went back to Firestone to let them know, but the guy at the desk kept saying they didn’t touch the engine.
I then took it to Hiller Auto, where the technician found that two spark plugs had been removed and weren’t tightened back up, which caused oil to leak into the chambers and made the idle go crazy. I called Firestone later to explain what they found wrong, but the guy there still insisted they hadn’t gone inside the engine. Even though they said it was just an inspection, the issue clearly involved something in the engine, which is where they said the problem was coming from.

If I could give no stars I would. I booked an appointment which in my opinion should always be honored, why have appointments if you’re going to tell people you can’t do it. They also told me the services I requested weren’t even able to be done by staff, why offer the service for the vehicle if you can’t do it. Will gladly drive an hour and a half back to my home town to get my car worked on. Tried for two weeks to get a flat and breaks done at this location to be told no it’s too late every single time with an appointment. Mind blowingly horrible customer service. Will never recommend someone to come here, nor will I ever be booking with them again. Good thing I never even got a chance to pay for a service, I’d be asking for my money back.
Update, after telling them on the phone yesterday that this is not the first or second time they’ve ignored my appointment, I woke up this morning to them scheduling an appointment MORE THAN A MONTH OUT. They told me on the phone yesterday “we can see you tomorrow if you bring it in early.” I said no I’ll drive back to my home town and have it repaired where I’ve always had it done and never had any issues. (Got an appointment for 3 days later with my favorite shop) the email I received this morning from Firestone was scheduling me an appointment for September 5th! All I have is a slow leak in a tire that needs repaired that any other shop can do in 30mins and you’re telling me to see someone local here in Springfield I have to wait almost 4 weeks to the DAY. HELL NO.

Wheel fell off my truck about half a mile from the store after getting the tires rotated. I’m pretty sure they didn’t tighten down the lug nuts on that wheel at all. Fortunately I didn’t hit anything or anyone. The workers were apathetic at best, and the manager referred me to corporate. Corporate usually took 3-5 days and multiple calls/emails to get a response, but lawyers and insurance were answered almost immediately. Worst part is that I received zero compensation from Firestone outside of the payment made to my insurance company for the vehicle damages ($6500) and rental ($900) because I had to file my own claim because they were so difficult to deal with on my own. Still ended up $700 in the hole because insurance/Firestone wouldn’t pay for a wheel bearing that was determined to be “not accident related”. Took about 5 months from incident to claim closure. I’d recommend you find a local shop so in the unfortunate event you have an issue they have more of an incentive to make it right.

So I like to review businesses because people need to know who they can go to and really understand experiences both good and bad! I like Firestone but they tend to have some not so good workers and some extremely good workers. Depending on what store or manager you get. The store I went to this time in Springfield il on Wabash Ave was the Bomb! They really got my car in and out told me what it needed even without an appointment which I just happened and lucked up on.. grateful! Because my friend was getting their car worked on and they asked about mine. Some businesses really do extreme care business and go above and beyond for customers care service because they are in business for business. I don't know why other people are in business for ... because without people customers you have no business...

I called Firestone explaining I wasn’t from around the area and my car was making a weird whistling noise when I accelerated. I asked them if I brought it by if someone could look at it since I’m from out of town and trying to drive home the next day. The man on the phone was careless. Said he had no available techs to look at it and I could drop it off and MAYBE they could look at it at 10 or 11am the next day. As I’m explaining that my car won’t accelerate and it’s dangerous to drive. They did not care. Thank GOD Hiller automotive cared enough to help me out. I would NEVER go to Firestone. However! I would recommend everyone looking for assistance go to Hiller Automotive. It’s not too far away and the man that works there, Greg, heard the panic in my voice and told me to bring it in right away and they could at least look at it and tell me what was wrong and we would see if I had to leave the car or not. Hiller Automotive fixed my car issue in less than 10 minutes. Firestone didn’t care. No one should go here. Go to Hiller!

The events of the last 48 hours compel me to leave a terrible review for Firestone on MacArthur. I went in a couple days ago with an overheating issue, and they identified nearly $2,000 in unrelated suspension work that they claimed posed a grave safety hazard. Regarding the overheating, they wanted to install a new compressor, a new radiator, do an AC evac recharge, and replace the serpentine belt. All in cost, cooling plus suspension, $4,500. I said no, took the car to Jack Stoldt's, where they identified a bad water pump and the need to replace the serpentine belt (the only thing Firestone got right in their estimate). Stoldt's said none of the suspension work that Firestone identified was necessary. Had I followed Firestone's advice, I'd have paid almost $5k and the main problem wouldn't even have been fixed. I strongly advise my fellow consumers to avoid this establishment at all costs. There are better options in town.

Friendly, professional service, and one of the very few such businesses in town that was open for business on a Sunday- Mother's day no less. Too, the price for an oil change was a real bargain.

Very friendly service technician and making sure that I could choose payment options because I’ve personally had issues with the 6th st branch charging the wrong card because they simply charged the card on file but it’s not mine it’s my husband’s credit card so I’m extremely grateful that they didn’t charge the card on file automatically and confirmed that they had heard the same issues from other customers like myself which was amazing because I knew I wasn’t alone in bad experiences at the other branch I will only use this location from now on because the customer service was sooo much better and I actually got what I wanted as a customer and was able to pay with my credit card instead of my husband’s card on my file for one previous authorized payment the downtown location charged his card 3other times even though I had my own Firestone card and assured me that they were charging my card not his but still charged his. But the MacArthur location doesn’t do that they only charge what you swipe vs on file ?

I called about getting a tire and the only thing the guy who answered asked what was the tire size and since I didn't know that he couldn't help me. I know he could put my car information in his system to find the tire size. I've called multiple places that were able to give me quotes.
