Horrible Customer Service. Associates yell at Customers over the phone when Customers inquire about why they haven’t been notified of a PreOrdered game that has arrived, and inquire about why they haven’t been notified. Customers are advised that store inventory keeps the employees from notifying the customers who preordered games. Store Inventory in an almost bare store, shouldn’t keep an Associate from completing their assigned job tasks.
When asking for a Corporate Number to make an official complaint, they deflect and state that they do not give phone numbers for corporate, as it is not their job or required of them. Was told to call another store to obtain Corporate Complaint Number. When calling the other local store, customers are advised that this information can be obtained from Google, but then gave the information. Funny how it can all just be given to the customer without unnecessary comments.
Store inventory is slim to none and the available items are severely overpriced and they price gouge. They lowball you on games and consoles that you want to trade in for store credit. The store associates are never really doing anything for them to treat their customers the way they do.
A corporate complaint has been filed and I was advised that I will receive a follow up call to review all necessary actions that GameStop is to take.

Hi, we bought an Xbox on December 12th and received it January 24th. We had issues the entire time trying to recieve the Xbox and trying to get help through customer service and also emailed GameStop multiple times with no feedback or help. When we did receive the Xbox, it was thrown in a box with paper, it did not work and the controller constantly disconnected from the console. We went into the GameStop in Springfield, IL on Dirksen and they were also no help. They said the computers were down for all the GameStop stores. I asked if we could exchange the console for a different one and they said there was none. So we got back in the car and went to the GameStop store on Veterans parkway. We walked in and asked if the computers were down and they said no, they haven't had any issues with their computers all day. In saying that, the manager at the Dirksen store lied straight to our faces. The two gentlemen that worked at the Veterans store figured out what we needed to do and helped return the defective Xbox.
I have been a member of GameStop for many years and this was very disappointing with having all these issues happen and no one cared to help us out. After 15 years of using GameStop, we will no longer be returning. It's a shame.

Bare shelves, mostly clearance merch - not many games. Lots of things are mispriced, and the 1 employee on staff couldnt correct the price, made 2 calls and still couldnt do it. We went to pick out new games with the kid and left empty handed. We watched another family leave empty handed for the same reason.

Currently 1104 at this location and they are clearly closed! Actually, not the first time I’ve came to this location and they are closed when they are supposed to be open

very helpful even if he had to tell me the other store had the item. but his policy would not allow him to transfer a item to his store for customer convenience which is a miss for the company.

2 stores in Springfield and neither has any physical copies of Star Wars Outlaws to sell on release day. How dumb is that?
I'll just purchase through Microsoft from now on. Tired of giving a company chance after chance.

Staff are nice enough and they have a fair amount of uncommon games, but the organization is just AWFUL. Come on guys it's really not that hard to alphabetize games.

I'll never pre-order from this place again. Never get the "exclusives" with preorders but yet soon as they release, they are out of stock byt available locally on eBay.What a joke.

Not even worth 1 star. Was not very happy. Called last night to verify that an item was in. Told that it was. Got to the store at 10 am when they were supposed to open, they didn't open. Sat there for 20 minutes before leaving. Called at 1030 and was met with rudeness from the employee. I understand that they worked black Friday and had to work late. But put a sign on the door if your gonna make the choice to open an HOUR later! Walked in when they finally opened, was ignored till the employee saw my boyfriend was with me. He was met with rudeness as well when he asked for the item. Got told they sold out last night. When questioned the employee ignored us. Will NOT be going back to this store ever. And will be calling corporate.

On 7/22/23, I visited the gamestop on north Dirksen Parkway. On this visit I was shopping for the eevee evolutions Pokémon box set and some booster packs. I found the eevee evolutions box that I wanted, but the box was damaged, there were at least six more of them on the top shelf. So I kindly asked Cameron to bring me a box down from the top self that was not damaged. He brought one down and put the box and my booster packs in the bag. I never did see them as they were put in the bag, But when I arrived home and took out the eevee evolutions box, I found out that he had picked a box that was more damaged than the one on the floor. As a result I am not to pleased with him, because to me, he purposely picked a more damaged box. A damaged box means that the cards inside could be damaged as well.I paid good money for these items and should be able to get the ones that i wanted and in good condition.

Run of the mill Gamestop, with the exception that this one randomly closes throughout the day with no notice or indication of when it will reopen.Also an indicator of the service to be expected (until it's time for the sales pitch at checkout anyway).Try other locations if possible.
