We had a jacuzzi suite and the curtains in the room weren't big enough for the window so anyone could see in. Bandaid on the peephole and pinning the curtains back. Carpets are stained. Over all not a good

I was in my room for not even a couple of hours at absolute max and discovered a bedbug on the bed and I informed the front desk with my finding with pictures as proof and explained that I wanted refunded my room cost so that I could get another room elsewhere and she absolutely by all means completely refused to give my cash back that I gave her shortly beforehand. I explained I was honestly terrified the other rooms would have them as well and that I couldn't stay knowing the fact of what I found and that I didn't have enough money to rent a night at a different place w/o at the very least half of my cost back. She wouldn't budge, NO,NO,NO she didn't wanna see my pictures of it nor even hear me once I said the word refund it was in evey way pure refusal. I felt and still feel completely robbed. She even threatened to call the police and have me removed if I continue with my complaints. I left and will never be back for any reason.

DANGEROUS place to stay.Drug deals get done in the parking lot. And, cars get broken into here. It's a place to stay. Needs a makeover. It is literally across from the governors' mansion; where the governor of Illinois is supposed to live during their time in office.

The train horn will wake you up from a sound sleep. This should be taken into consideration when booking. Staff very friendly. The price was good. But I didn't like the train.Nearby activities: State fair was closethat's why we stayed

Had to take roof rack off my van to get in the parking lot. Carpet is stained and smells like cat piss. No fridge or microwave in room. Like 30 channels on TV and half don't work. And safety latch on the door is held on with duct tape. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at, will never stay

It was a bait and switch. I took the 58$ room advertised and it turned out that is a smoking room which smells like an ashtray. Had to pay more to get a clean room. The woman at the counter was nice.

My family and I were suppose to stay at another hotel. I messed the dates up and this was the only hotel that had a room. We ended up staying one night. When we first got there the hotel entrance smelt old and mothy. I was thinking what did I get us into. We checked in the lady that checked us in was nice. We took the stairs ( no elevator) stairs were dirty and looks like a horror movie lol. We were greeted by housekeeping. She was super nice. When we entered our room it was definitely outdated. There were two iron burn stains from an iron being left on the floor. Our shower barely gave us any water. The lamp by our bed did not work. We only found one electric socket by the bed. The beds are not horrible. I slept pretty good. It's definitely not meant for two adults to sleep in one bed. The only thing that made me uncomfortable. Is when we went to check out the lady at the front desk had to go check her room to make sure that we didn't even. I guess it's fine we just travel a lot and I've never had anybody do that. We did get our $50 refunded

Staff was friendly and parking was off street. The room seemed nice at first, but there were some small blood (?) stains on the sheets and the towels were either dirty or stained or both. Several burn marks on the carpet from the iron. Overall, not very clean but it was a bed to sleep in for one night. Also, be warned it's near some train tracks so there are trains rolling nearby early in the morning until at least 10 at night.

Yeah, so i booked 2 nights here and went to check in. I asked to see the room first and was absolutely disgusted by the room. I immediately went to cancel and was refunded only for one night. So i lost 80 bucks to walk into a room and walk out immediately. Highly would advise against staying here. It's just not how you run a business, if someone wants a refund, give it to them. Especially when the room was an absolute mess...

Front desk is friendly and professional. Let me see room before I registered. The place is a bit worn but room is clean, comfortable, and bed is ok. Railroad tracks with regular running trains and whistles is a bit like the My Cousin Vinny scene Very inexpensive. Right across the street from Governor's Mansion. Within walking of many downtown attractions.

The older lady who was managing the front desk was very rude. I stayed 3 nights and was accused of breaking a bed in the room I had the first 2 nights. The microwave didn't work the first 2 nights and when I asked for a new one she was very rude and told me there was no one there who could replace the microwave for me. She acted as if my business was an inconvenience. Then when I came back for the final night I stayed she accused me of breaking a bed from the room I used the first 2 nights. The room had 2 beds and I slept in one bed and I know for certain the bed I slept in wasn't broken so the other bed might have been broke but it had to have been that way before I stayed cause I never used that bed.The last night I stayed I booked through Expedia and didn't get the room that I booked on the website and when I asked why she was giving me a different room I hadn't booked she got an attitude with me and threatened to not let me stay. Both rooms were gross especially the bathrooms. A friend and his wife arrived at 7am Tuesday morning 3/22/21 to pick me up and hungout in the room until it was time to checkout which was 11am, I checked out at around 10:30am. When I went to check out I was told that I wouldn't get the $20 deposit back, when I asked why she informed me that since my friend and his wife had come to me room at 7am that morning I had broken the visiting hours rules (there was nothing mentioned to me nor was there anything posted about visiting hours.) I tried to explain that the visitors were my ride but she continuously interrupted me and when I asked why I wasn't told about the "visiting hours" rule she told me that they didn't have to let me know about the rule and that they didn't have to have the rule posted for customers to see??? So I was denied both refunds $40 total which I would have had no problem with if there would have been a logical reason. The unprofessionalism by management was enough that I will never stay another night at the Mansion View.

I'm giving them a 5 Star rating because it's affordable and everything is walking distance,, and the lady at front desk was so nice, she watched our bags when my sister and I checked out of the Hotel so we could Finish sightseeing around town. I'm definitely coming back to this Hotel when I'm visiting Springfield..?❤️? also the rooms aren't the Best,,I wish we would've had a non-smoking room, rooms need to be remolded but like I said, I give them 5 Stars due because everywhere we needed to go is walking distance

I am unhappy to report that this filthier than filthy poor excuse for refuge is still in business. If you are able get thru the child-sized pothole obstacle course that is their parking lot you will find your way to their less than helpful service desk. I asked for a 1st fl room due to an injury and was told they were booked .. my car was only the 2nd car in the entire lot! Once I get to my "luxury suite" and open the door I was met with the stench of the carpet that had once belonged to Lincoln and had also not been cleaned since. Once I got past the odor and found my way inside to actually find a working light (1 out of the 4 worked) I saw the equally unclean easy chair which was next to the end table which held another non working lamp & that was next to the "doll size" refrigerator that was stuffed into a corner on the floor and the door could barely open so it was useless. Finding it was extremely late i decided to shower & stay the night. The water from the sink linked out more onto the warped formica countertop than it did into the basin. I turned on the shower only to discover I should have bathed on the bathroom floor since that is where all the water was going. Frustrated i turned on the 15" 10 channel television & tried to sleep. Their advertisement states the Politicos have been known to frequent these premises when in town...hmm, im guessing that is only for the shadiest of deals. The young night attendant stated she lived there with her child & not to be concerned that it was safe.... for the sake of that child someone needs to call DCFS !!
