My wife and I experienced a financial hardship over the summer due to a change in her employment. We were struggling to pay 2-3 months payment of a 30 year mortgage, which we had never been behind on before. Their idea of “working with us” is that our mortgage payment is now doubled over the next 6 months, after they tack on all their fees and penalties. Don’t know how I’m going to feed my family of 3 young boys over the next 6 months, but that’s of no concern to the fine folks at this bank.
When I called Art at CTCB to ask what our payment would be per month to make it current, he couldn’t be bothered to return my call.
These people are monstrous vultures with no concern for working families. Do business anywhere else.

Their online chat disconnects on you. We've had to drive to a location multiple times to try to get access to online banking and it still doesn't work. Clock Tower is incompetent and non-responsive. Do not bank here.

What a horrible bank, trying to close an account for a deceased family member with a will and you still get an incredibly horrible hassle during a very difficult time. I strongly recommend never doing business with this bank!

Used to be the best friendliest bank in springfield. I think new corporate structure makes them lose touch with Key customers. My families done business with the Marine bank name for over 100 years. They have some (few very) wonderful vital employees. I was told they were too busy to review Me for a mortgage on my house. All my businesses and personal accounts are with Marine 4 over 60 years. I've never missed a payment and I purposely had a non-interest-bearing checking account which was stupid of me thinking that it was repayment for good service. I recently asked for some records and was told that I had to pay for them. I finally contacted the president of the bank who explained that was their new policy but he would try to help me like he was doing me a favor. It's a very cold business like bank. On the teller level it's wonderful. I'm thinking about moving my accounts although I don't want to I'm very loyal to the previous owners. But I guess they sold out so it's not like I'm leaving a friend in trouble. Illinois oldest bank is getting ready to lose one of its oldest customers. And I don't think they care.

South sixth street branch is my go-to bank. Everyone I have had contact with has been very nice and helpful. I especially would like to thank Joan for helping me through a very difficult time and keeping me in line.

Always friendly and they are there to answer questions. If they don’t know they go ask. Gotten to know a couple in the South Sixth Street branch and feel Gayle Krueger is a good Asst Branch Mgr and is so good to go talk with or to call. Great people and have no plans of changing.

We have banked with Marine Bank for years! We love the customer service and the pleasant banking experience we have every time we go to any of their locations!! The drive through is great too!! I highly recommend doing your banking at Marine Bank!!

Only thing I didn't like was I had a check signed over from my Grandson and I went to deposit, he wasn't with me and they would only let me put in his. Next time I went to Chase and they let me. Everyone is nice and friendly. Closed inside more than I would think it would need to be

I tried to cash a legit check here and the bank manager refused to even verify its authenticity because of the amount and color of my skin !! Don't bother if your black !!
