Springfield Memorial Hospital has been a teaching hospital since 1970, affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The hospital offers a range of services, including Memorial Heart and Vascular Services, Emergency Services, Family Maternity, and Regional Cancer Center, with emergency services available 24 hours a day. Patients have reported positive experiences, especially in the emergency room, where staff members have been praised for their kindness and attentiveness during critical situations, such as strokes. Reviewers noted quick responses, with some receiving immediate care upon arrival. Outpatient surgical experiences were also highlighted, with staff being thorough and supportive throughout the processes. While the hospital has received commendations for its clean environment and respectful treatment of patients, some reviews pointed out areas needing improvement, such as coordination of care and facility updates. Despite these concerns, patients felt secure in bringing their families to Springfield Memorial Hospital and would recommend it to others. Overall, the hospital is recognized for its dedicated staff and commitment to patient care, even amidst challenges.
I cannot say enough positive comments on the treatment I received during my stay. EVERYONE with one exception was wonderful, caring & made a difficult time easier. The food was great & staff on the 3rd floor superior. Thank you so much!
