I lived there for a year and had no problems with the neighbors they were good. The office manager Nancy or whatever was so rude. She claimed I had rodents when I was out of town but there was no proof. She tried to charge me a pest fee. When I asked for proof they had none and she dropped it. My upstairs neighbors bathtub leaked and I had to call 6 times before they sent someone. Also he had to come 3 times because it wasn’t fixed. Only rent here if you have no other options.

I would like to thank Haley for helping me get approved for my apartment. She was very helpful, generous and patient with me during my moving process. When I had questions or concerns she was always there to assist me.I’ve been living here for almost 3 months now, it’s a nice place to live and the apartments are very nice.Again, thank you Haley, I’m very grateful!

I’m trying to move into this apartment and I’ve called several times for information, no matter the time of day they’re supposedly open no one ever picks up, I drive by to the office 4 times knocked and no one opens up. But for some reason there’s always cars in front of office. After reading people’s comments here and that experience yea... NO THANK YOU!!!!

Over the past year of me living at Pinewoods Apartments the experience was awful. Nancy the property manager was rude and passive aggressive every time I spoke with her. The leasing office was was also locked and closed most of the time during the day even though her car was parked outside so I couldn’t even go inside to address issues with my unit. My AC unit went out on two separate occasions. The first time it went out I barely got ahold of Nancy to schedule someone to come out and inspect it. The second time it happened(during the summer) I couldn’t get ahold of Nancy at all. Luckily the AC technician was working on another building so I had personally had to flag him down and ask him to check my unit(on the other side of the apartment complex). Also, on the lease you get charged for pest control but in the doorway and staircase the units never get sprayed or cleaned out. Lastly, the worst part about my experience with Nancy and “Slum Woods” was the leak in the ceiling of my bathroom from the unit above me. The leak was so bad that the units ceiling almost fell into my bathroom. There was a lot of water damage to my ceiling as well in the bathroom that also leaked over to my laundry room. The water damage produced green and black mold in my laundry room and in my bathroom. After finally getting a hold of Nancy about the issue(which took a week). She sent a ceiling/dry wall guy out to my unit and let him into my unit without me being home while I was at work. I never once gave her permission to send someone into my unit while I wasn’t home and she never asked. When I confronted and questioned Nancy about it she said it was in the leasing agreement that I signed which was false. I read my leasing agreement front to back and never found anything stating that she could send a service technician into a unit without the permission of the tenant.I asked her about this a second time as well as the total amount of compensation for my unit. The overall repair time took a total of 50 days which was the equivalent of two months of rent($1,470). I was only compensated for one month worth of rent. When asked about the rest of my compensation for rent I was told that I wouldn’t be receiving anymore compensation. In the middle of me expressing my frustration Nancy told me “I’ll be waiting for you to send me your 30 day notice (She was waiting for me to let her know when I would be leaving the property for good because she was tired of dealing with my apartment issues).” Instead of fixing the issue and making it right she was more concerned about giving the unit a “slap job” and still trying to charge me an extra month that I should’ve been compensated for. I lived in that unit for a total of 50 days with green and black mold in my unit and she wouldn’t even give me an extra months worth of rent or talk to me about the apartment complex compensating to see a healthcare provider to make sure I didn’t contract anything from the mold. Leaving this apartment complex was by far the best and easiest decision I have ever made. I strongly urge every one thinking about living at Pinewoods Apartments to read this post before you sign that contract because what I experienced is not how someone should be treated and YOU shouldn’t be treated that way either!!!

Keep looking. These apartments and the manager Nancy are on the fast path to slums. In six weeks, my car had been broken into twice...windows smashed. They are currently boasting of a 2 million dollar investment that I am doubtful even exists. There are bugs in some of the units. There are wasps everywhere and they are aggressive. The balcony frame has separated and the screen door will no longer stay attached. There is termite damage on all the stairs and balconies. Don't live here. Save your money.

I have lived here for over 10 years and it was ok in the beginning, but with the change of property manager a few years ago, I've not had the issues I had before. Previously there was literally 1 maintenance guy on call after hours and that poor man was coming back from chemo treatment and he was older, so things didn't get done as fast as they could have, but with the newer management, I've not had many issues at all. Most of the time, the appliances were already old when I moved in and I literally used them until they had nothing left in them. Ms. Nancy had another stove within a week and the following year when my fridge went out, a new one was delivered and set up directly from the store. My building is fairly quiet and the majority of my neighbors know each other. I've had a good experience.

nightmare of a place to live. my husband hasn't lived here for nearly two years now and they are STILL screwing him over. do yourself a favor and go across the street to a better managed place--unless you have hundreds of dollars to blow and enjoy being disrespected.

For anyone wanting to sign a lease at Pine Wood Apartments, don't do it until Sugar Creek Realty, LLC (314) 968-2205 replaces Nancy, the current property manager. If you live here, you've no doubt run into an issue with her not doing her job, actually not doing much of anything. She's never in the office and never answers the phone. Residents have gone over a month without working dishwashers, or weeks with no hot water. She says she will put a work order in, but the maintenance people never get these work orders. Just today, over 20 people had cars towed and she refused to give anyone Sugar Creek's phone number when they had enough and wanted to complain about her. It's sad such a fabulous place to live has gown down hill because of Nancy. Save yourself the headache and choose somewhere else to live.
