Noteworthy details: They sent us to the living side not the hotel side. Room was dirty anything from roaches to hair all over the place. It was a non smoking room and had a ash tray in the room. Got refunded.

My husband and I stayed over the weekend in a Jacuzzi suite for an overnight get away from our crazy lives and it was awesome! Booked this place on a whim and I'm so glad I did. Only con was we couldn't stay longer! The owner was super welcoming, very accommodating, and laid back. Our room was very clean and everything worked well. The diner/bar had a good vibe. Good service, great food, awesome portion size. The breakfast included was amazing. We weren't bothered at all and we're able to play our music loud and a smoking room was a plus for us! This place has so much character and all of the memrobilla is beyond cool! It has a very good location as well. It's not the Ritz Carlton but I would much rather stay in a place with personable service, originality, and history vs a big plain chain hotel. We NEVER get away and this place definitely met all of our expectations and beyond! Hopefully we can get away again soon and we definitely plan on rebooking this place! Saving for 2 nights for next time ? Thanks Route 66 Hotel for a unique and relaxing experience with you!!! You guys rock!

Rooms could use a little bit of TLC but the Nostalgia for the motel and the amazing restaurant in back makeup for any shortcomings of the rooms. Great water pressure in definitely had good hot water. Weather passing through town or staying the night, checking out the restaurant is a must.

Room are terrible. Don't stay there. But if you wanna see the memorabilia that's not too bad. I remember when it was a Holiday Inn South. Back in the late 90s Holiday Inn had something called Great Rates for 44.00. Idk if id even recommend staying at that place. It was good hotel with down and out rooms back then but definitely needs an overhaul. Not worth the 60-100 charge.

Went here with my fiancé for one night. The hotel looks nice when you enter, but when we got to our room (269) the smell was HORRIBLE. There was black mold on the roof between the curtain and window. The air was seriously so bad. We went to let the front check know and the man immediatly said NO WE ARE SOLD OUT. We know that was most likely a lie because he asked us which room we want (one or two beds) and we tried booking online after and could see there were rooms available. I dont know the reason for lying. We DO NOT recommend.Noteworthy details: Disgusting. The only good thing was the food in the diner with the voucher.

My wife and I what day did the route 66 hotel on Joseph Street in Springfield Illinois we booked the room for three nights. But on our staying there on the second morning waking up there my wife complained about bug bites we took care of our daily business. When we got back to the hotel that evening we got some sheets from the front desk. Upon changing our sheets we discovered an infestation of bed bugs my wife was horrified. So I went back to the front desk and toad the front desk personnel what was going on in our room. His response to this was there are no other rooms that I can give you they're all booked. Then he said hold on a minute then went into the office with a big can of bug spray. He then said you can spray the room down. I asked if the manager was there so I can talk to him. He said the manager is gone for the night that I would have to talk to him in the morning. He could not give us a refund he said. I believe I should have a refund for the full amount for the 3 days. Because now I have to treat all my clothes that I had with us and all of our belongings for bed bugs I don't know what's going to happen when I talk to the manager in the morning but I'm sure you already see this post. I put down a rating of one for this place because that's the lowest I could go but I put it out of -5 in my book in the place to be demolition and torn down to the ground with nothing to be built back on its place in fear of the infestation of bed bug being being in a new building built in its placeRooms: The room was dirty. We had to clean the bathroom ourselves because it was dirty. As I posted in my post there was bed bugs be found on the second day. My horrified wife has not let me stop hearing about it. I'm sure it'll still be a topic on her mind in 5 10 15 and 20 years what a fantastic honeymoon!!!!!!!! I hope our marriage makes it through this for the next 20 years and more

Long road trip stop. This place is awesome. Great atmosphere, well designed rooms, affordable luxury options, in house resturaunt, fun game room, easy access parking and really friendly service. We splurged on the jacuzzi room package with dinner/breakfast as well as $50 game room voucher. We went into the game room with $50 voucher and came out with $120 cash. The food was pretty decent and the bar had a great vibe.My fiance and I, loved our stay here. We just wanted a decent hotel at the halfway point of our drive. It was an unexpected surprise with a very memorable experience.Pro tip: read the sign in the jacuzzi room before you start hitting buttons :)

There are giant bed bugs on the smoking side of the hotel. Hotel said it was probably a roach but I will let you all be the judge.

Nigh receptionist was super sweet and very helpful. The hotel was so cute and way nicer than I expected. First impression was that the rooms were beautiful and the hot tub was new…. Everything went down hill from there, the hot tub was DISGUSTINGLY dirty, the led mood lights didn’t work, the main tv didn’t work, the fan that cleared out the hot tub room didn’t work, the heater didn’t work, 1 breakfast voucher for clearly a couples room, there was 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and when we brought our concerns up to the gentlemen at the front desk the next morning he was rude and disrespectful. I have called, emailed and facebooked customer service and have gotten no response. It is heartbreaking because the rooms and hotel are nice and would have loved to stay again in the future…::/ I have mixed emotionsRooms: Potential to be amazing rooms

The room was not cleaned, my sheets had hair and dirt in them, I had to go ask for clean sheets and made my own bed. The shower had mold in it. The toilet seat was broken. The bedspread and curtains were burnt it smelled like weed in and outside the room. On a good note the restaurant and food was good.Food & drinks: The food was delicious and had plenty

Woman at front desk was nice. That’s the only good I can say. Room was not all the way clean. Empty bottle next to the bed. I’m hoping the sheets were washed but I’m pretty sure they were washed with Lysol and that’s it. They used so much Lysol on the pillows it made my eyes water and I couldn’t use them. Looked like at some point someone had thrown up all over the bathroom. There was still some spots next to the toilet right behind the toilet paper and on the front of the bathroom door. Made me not wanna use it. The remote to the ac didn’t go to the wall unit so the room was extremely hot. I travel a lot and I always check for bugs. Didn’t see any, but at some point someone had cut into the mattress also there was so many stains I almost said never mind and slept in the car. Looks like they’re remodeling the rooms and that part looks great but they need new mattress and housekeepers. You’ll get less then what you paid for.
