Its a Walmart, if you know, you know. If you dont know, count yourself lucky! Walmart, where the very best of the very worst go to display their All-American brand of crazy to try and out Bipolar the rest for Miss Mental Health Crisis 2025. Oddly enough, the winner is usually a shoe in for Miss Meth Mouth 2025, and Miss Antivax 2025. Seems stupidity is the greatest cure of them all.

Cleaner looking than others in area.
Updated 3/11/2025 - never mind previous review - this store is going downhill fast. Super messy - in store shoppers are in the way CONSTANTLY of real shoppers. Store looks dirty and unkept.

Worst customer sevice ever. Ranting and raving the whole time while picking up a pick up order for my parents. Got upset we didn't pull up to the door they have to come out of to bring the groceries out to the designated parking spots. Then got upset he didn't listen when asked to put in the back of the passenger seat and thought I meant passenger seat where my partner was sitting and told us we needed to get our lives together and threw the groceries in my vehicle. Completely ignorant!

I shopped Walmart groceries for years now. Not my favorite but until recently has had the items I was looking for. Recently they keep taking the products I buy off the shelf and replacing it with their Great value items. Some of the Great value brand have been okay some have not. I don't know why but this local Walmart supercenter on dirksen avenue Springfield Illinois can't seem to keep products in stock. I don't think I have shopped there one time that I have been able to find everything I'm looking for. Last winter they were out of canned corn for over 2 months! Here in the heart of corn country! The employees have been very nice and polite no complaints there. The young people they have filling the online orders need to learn how to park their big blue carts out of the way and stop blocking the aisles. It always ticks me off when they Park their big blue card on one side and start pulling products from the other one completely blocking the aisle. Save me a lot of them have an attitude that they are the most important thing filling orders and the people that actually do their own shopping need to wait for them to do their job. I don't know if it's an inventory issue or ordering issue but they need to quit running out of everyday items on a regular basis. Beef stroganoff mixes one item that is out all the time. I buy a handful every time I find it because I know the next time I come it won't be there. I had a hell of a time finding turkey gravy during Thanksgiving. Somebody needs to get it together.

Today, I took another disabled veteran and myself to the Walmart store on North Dirksen Ave here in Springfield, Illinois... It was a short wait for both of us to get 2 scooter carts for us to do our shopping, but we have gotten use to that happening sometimes... We were able to finally get a cart for my friend, but I had to enlist the help of the guys who gather the carts from the parking lot to get one for myself, as the one I was using, had been way out back of the parking lot near the gas station inside of the bus stop shelter... I was in the store doing my shopping and for some reason, the cart alarm kept going off indicating that I was past some type of border, and I needed to go back to the store--- but I was already inside the store, and not wherever the cart thought I was-- and I have no idea why it kept beeping and telling me to get back to the store... I had been shopping for approximately only a lil bit of time like 15 minutes(maybe less)... Suddenly the cart's battery alarm went from 85% to 50% to 30% to 15% to dead stop in less than 2 minutes... Now, I'm stuck in the middle of the aisle by the frozen hams bin unable to move any further, and I'm now blocking ppl that are shopping, but are unaware of my situation... Eventually I hollered out to a Walmart employee(Mark) that was a short distance from me, I hollered that my cart stopped working for me, and it wouldn't move... He nodded his head as if he understood me, and disappeared... A short time later, he reappears and says that they were out of carts, and he had passed the information on to someone... As he said this, another Walmart employee in a vest came from out the side doors, and Mark said to him, that I was having trouble with my scooter, and the(same) employee that later I found out was named Xavier, looked at me and almost with a laugh said "What do you want me to do about it" and I looked at him and he still had a smile oh his face as if it was still funny to him that the cart full of food, had broken down on me---- now I'm a disabled veteran(I was wearing a disabled veteran ball cap also) I'm unable to walk or do any shopping throughout Walmart's vast areas without the use of a scooter, and I immediately felt hurt, humiliated, ignored, disrespected, and then I got angry.. I stopped Xavier and I asked him--- what did he mean, by what he just said--- he just shrugged his shoulders and tried to apologize, it wasn't a heartfelt one, and 2 ladies stopped and said they saw and overheard what had transpired, one of the ladies left and returned a few minutes later with a cart and I transferred from the broken down cart to the one she rode back with... The other lady said she would help transfer my groceries to the other cart, but I told her that I didn't want any of it and I just wanted to go home... I located the other disabled veteran that was with me, and I told him let's go home... He fortunately had gotten all of his shopping done and wasn't aware of the incident---
As we were leaving the store I asked to speak with a store manager, and a lady and another guy spoke to me, and they gave me enough time to speak on the matter and explain what had happened, but at this point I was shaking, nervous, my blood pressure was going up, I was humiliated, angry, and wanted to get out of the store... Now I no longer want to go back shopping at any Walmart, and will tell, all of my disabled veterans and friends about my experience there... Totally bad experience...

Typical Walmart. Don't be surprised if you see people wearing pajamas, a burka, daisy dukes, or even a tutu. People just don't care.

A police officer was in their vehicle next to the doors. I pulled over behind the police since I also needed to keep my car on and stay in it. I was waiting for my Uber passenger where I can be easily seen. Right before the passenger came back the police officer gave me a ticket. I called the store and didn't get to talk to anyone. Terrible.
