Some of the domestic flight planes are a little older but there haven't been any major issues. Service has been fine and the food has been really good for the transatlantic flights. They've been really timely with all of my recent flights and I'm very happy about them serving the stroop waffles - I know, I'm easy to please. I do like their hot meal selection and they have quite an assortment of wine and beer. This last flight out to DC, I was stuck in a middle seat (I was probably in Group 8 for boarding), we were about to take off and the flight attendant comes up to me and offers an aisle seat, out of the blue so I said, yes please!!! I really don't know why I got that option - but it's stuff like that, that makes this a 4 star review. We've also been arriving early for every flight, it's just unbelievable.

I'm starting off with my experience from LAX to Chicago. I don't fly often, 2 years ago to NY. I don't remember it being so bad. I can't remember what airlines we used at that time. The agents at the check in desk at LAX looked irritated and were very short, definitely no smiles. I got basic economy and got a lesson from a fellow flyer about why you should avoid basic economy at all cost. Lesson learned, boarding the flight was first class and of course they have leg room. I get back to 26c and two people are already sitting in the row of three. I have the isle, I only have a purse because I was told carry on was not allowed. I tried to sit down with people pushing in the isle and I couldn't believe how close we are to each other and the seat in front of us. I was so close the tv screen it was so blurry I couldn't watch it. The person next to me had their arm on the arm rest, so my arms were squished to my side. I get the isle the few times I have flown so I have room. Every time the flight attendants walked down the isle they bumped me, along with other passengers. I was getting so angry, then to make matters worse somebody in my vicinity had major gas issues. So the plane stunk so bad, also sounded like everyone was sick. Coughing and sneezing, thank god for my DÅŒTERRA oils. Maybe on guard will keep me from getting sick. That part is not United's fault. So now I'm in Chicago with a sore neck and back and this is how I start my vacation. Let's hope this next flight is better. Flight from Chicago to Ohio was definitely a lot better. When you board the plane it is one seat to the right and the left has two seats next to each other. Way more leg room. Smaller plane, awesome flight attendant. I was giving United one star but this last flight bumped it up. I actually fell asleep which I don't usually do. Woke up refreshed to see my grandkids.

I travelled light. Very light. Single back pack that fits under the seat in front of me. I go to check in for my flight and am informed, if traveling with only a personal item, I must stand in line at the United Ticketing in O'Hare or pay to check a bag (when I'm not going to check one). United won. I paid. And they'll continue to be my airline of last resort. I hope United goes bankrupt (again).

Ugggh. Every flight delayed. No electronic hookups that work. I didn't ever get the seat I picked out at purchase. Just a horrible experience. I never get this when flying Alaska. If you really want to hear specifics I hope to hear from a customer service rep. Unacceptable flights from start to finish.

How is United still in business is beyond me. I get the weather related delays. There is nothing one can do about weather. Got on a flight in Indianapolis over Chicago to Milwaukee. In Indy they were like we are going to be late but no explanation why. They ended up being on time. Get to Chicago and the times changed 4 times. Yes ladies and gentlemen 4 times. Explanation: something wrong with the plane. Ok understandable but no one was fixing anything. Got on the plane just to be kicked off and told to wait for an update. Finally hours later: canceled flight I ask the lady what is one to do now. She advised me to go to the customer service desk. I got there and there is over 100 people in line. Update: while at the United desk I was given a paper that provided other travel options. I followed the instructions and I got a rental car with Hertz that was $209.00. I came home and then filed out out a request for a refund. Today i received an email that they will credit me $59.00. I then went online and checked a one way flight to Chicago and cheapest with United was about $140. United will not get a penny of my money ever again. Only United can sell you something and not deliver and get away with it.

They need to enforce the carry on size limit, there should be no reason 30+ passengers who paid for the upgraded carru on ticket... to have to check their bag. Last time I checked my bag with United you guys sent it to El Paso, destroyed it, then gave me the run around about compensating me for it.

The flight was delayed over 3 hours due to mechanical issues. When the flight is delayed due to the companies expense, not natural weather circumstances, the airline is responsible to compensate for their mistakes. United Airline did not do anything for such mistake, they barely apologized. After the 3 hours of continuous announcements to stay tuned, we were asked to move to another aircraft. the flight attendants did not even make eye contacts with the customers when they were asked to move to another aircraft. It was very late at night, and the aircraft was freezing. I turned on the service request light on and waited for very long time. Then I realized that the person next to me also has been had the service request light on for sometime now. The flight attendant finally came over and this is how our conversation went: Me: "May I ask for a blanket? It's very cold in the aircraft." Flight attendant: "I am sorry, Maam. We don't provide blankets for flights less than 5 hours." Me: "Do you have any spare or anything else I could use? I don't feel very well." Flight attendant: "You asked for a blanket, right?" Me: "Yes." Flight attendant: "I am sorry, Maam. We don't provide blankets for flights less than 5 hours." It was as if they were trained to be unaccommodating and unapologetic to the customers. This is the exact airline which the Dr. Dao's incident occurred in April 2017. I wonder the same staff still work there, it made me feel very uneasy. I also discussed with my colleague and learned that the United Airline has the unusually high number of animal death. The way that the United Airline treat humans as well as animals has tons of room for improvements. I certainly felt that way. Conclusion: I am advising my corporate to no longer book any flights with United Airline. We have 300,000 employees at our company. That would be a lot of inconveniences, dissatisfaction, time & resources loss I will be saving for my company.

Worst flying experience ever. Everybody I've talked to has been trying to get a flight for 24 hours and they keep switching Gates every 30 minutes switching from side to side. So I'm not going to make it home or to work tomorrow they cancelled half the flights. Everybody I talk to is been desperate to get on a flight they keep bumping off for five flights. You stand in line to try to ask him a question and the staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful they won't give me any information. We travel a lot and this is really the worst situation we've ever been in travel-wise. Even though they canceled all those flights they didn't put anybody up in a hotel. They claim because of severe weather but this is August ... how severe could the weather be for 2 days. This is just been awful. So many international people who struggled to speak English and figure out ... they changed gates 6 times ... back and forth. I am angry.

I flew with United on their Polaris business class. Here is my detailed video log of it. All in all, my experience was okay. Nothing amazing nor terrible. But it will not be a memorable one. Food was below average compared to business class of other airlines, especially Asian or Middle Eastern airlines.

This company gets one star because I have to give them one star. I have been traveling with them for over 10 years. I am a credit card holder and the United club member. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Old planes, inflated prices, and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have over 300,000 points with this company and I would rather throw those points away than fly with them one more time. I am currently stranded in Chicago. On a first class flight. And not a single person has even the decency to have a conversation with me. I just spent $700 on a flight that they will not refund, exchange, or re-route. I instead spent $120 to get home with JetBlue on a new airplane and it was fantastic. United you were once great but in 2019 you are terrible! Save yourself the frustration, the money, and the hassle and fly with any other airline

I make a point of it not to fly United. I've had much better luck with other airlines. As with any airline, I've given them a fair shot on multiple occasions but there have been more misses than hits for them in my experience--especially in the ways of major flight delays due to planes not functioning properly.

Time for my annual update. I would give my flight a solid 3 stars. I flew United on my way out to a business trip to San Francisco. It was a very full flight, so I gave them my bag to check in at the gate. This saved me from paying for a baggage fee, and they were more than thrilled because it provided more room for overhead space. The flight itself was A-OK. I had plenty of leg room, but it was an older plane, and I couldn't figure out how and where to charge my phone or laptop, and I'm fairly certain my aisle seat didn't have the capability. The customer service was great, but the minus was the inability to get on WiFi due to too many people actually using it. Top tip: earlier flights will get you a better chance at getting WiFi access. 10+ stars for the United app. I'm oddly obsessed with the app, because it just makes travel so easy! My boarding pass was loaded and ready to rock. That was a huge bonus, because my printer was on the brink for any hard copy boarding pass prints. Though I can always print my pass at the airport, I'm one of those travelers obsessed with having everything ready and at my fingertips. Flight was on time and travel was a breeze.

Been traveling 20 plus years, To more than 50 countries but my home City of Chicago Based Airlines, United Airlines "aka" the Friendly Skies". Well Apparently not so Friendly. Today travel to Hong Kong experienced the worst counter representative so rude disrespectful unwilling to assist or even answer basic questions. The worst airlines what a disappointment. Never fly with them again. Warning should you have no other choice and fly out of Terminal 1 United Airlines Avoid Sonia at check in counter #2

I booked a flight with Air Brussels to Porto, Portugal via Brussels, Belgium on flight number SN8804 on June 30, 2019. What I didn't immediately realize is that Air Brussels put me on a United flight for the first leg of my journey. Personally I try to avoid United now because of their low level of customer service. (If you have the time please read my prior review of the airline.) Well I realized just prior to departure that I was not flying Air Brussels, who I have never flown before. Well actually everything overall was not bad. I mean, they had a decent selection of movies and they fed me. Most of the flight attendants were nice except a brunette female that was crabby 100% of the flight.
