Had 2023 taxes done here. Our tax "professional" was completely incompetent. She wouldn't let us claim our 6 month old, until I started asking questions which is when the manager got involved and we we able to claim him as a dependent. Fast forward to 2024 tax season and the state of Illinois never received our filing. After getting the run around for 3 weeks at this location I was told it's not their problem. I have to file again myself. USELESS!

On 4/11/23 I dropped my tax documents at this location in order to file my taxes,no indication of any issues was I given at that time.After few days went by without any calls or any updates I stopped by just to be told "we are working on it,you will get a call before the day is over". (I fail to ask what day?) **My fault**, several more days and I call them,"same response I got". Today is 5/23/23 and nobody has ever call or text or email or anything.what kind of trashy customer service is that?.

I called the 1-800 number given in your response, the "tax specialist" who answered the phone had no idea how to help me. You need to do a better job when hiring people who are supposed to know tax information!! She told me to find a tax specialist who could help me. I suppose that means I'll be getting a refund since no one knows how to do their job at H&R Block!If I could give this place a zero I would. They always give me a newbie, when I called this year to make my appointment I asked whoever took the call to NOT give me someone new. I had medical expense, and the last person did not seem sure of what they were doing. After I was finished, I realized I forgot to include the expense for a new furnace (totally my fault), when I notified my “tax specialist” of this, she told me that after the submitted taxes are approved we could not file an amended return. So Wrong!And to top it off they messed up my payment, I had to go back several times to get it straightened out.Then I received a letter from the state, something about my property taxes they would need to verify. I called and they said they would look into the letter, so I dropped off the letter and a copy of my property taxes and waited for a call. And I and waited, and waited, and no call, even after I called the office several times and left messages for them to call me back regarding the letter, a big nothing!! I only had 30 days to respond to this letter. So I’m on my own, with only a couple of days left to figure out what papers I need to send in.Horrible, horrible customer service! Would NOT ever go back!

We scheduled an appointment and showed up and was told there was no appointment set for us. We then scheduled an appointment and attended on time. We waited for 45 minutes and ended up doing a drop off service because the tax agent was still with another customer. We then were unable to access our return online and had to schedule another appointment to return to sign the paperwork. We ended up owing instead of receiving a refund and was told to go to the IRS website and fill out our own paperwork. Unable to figure it out I am also unable to get a call or email back from the tax agent. Not sure what I paid service for as I could put numbers into software as well. Will not return.

My wife used to do our taxes and she passed away this year. I knew little or nothing about filing for taxes and this HR Block office made it simple, easy and completed it quickly. Their price was a little less than I thought it would be. And, my tax professional Beata was wonderful.

Come to this place if you are looking for lack of communication and someone to take a long time to file your taxes. I get that this place is busy because it is tax season but a month with taxes still not filed and no communication about anything, just isn't okay. I did call the corporate number to see what their policy is for drop off turn-around and received no answers, only offered to make an appointment for a phone call from the man that is supposed to be doing my taxes. Definitely the one and only time that I will be using H&R Block for taxes.

Best place ever, I have been going here I think 3 years now and the woman who helps me is the best I have ever had. I'm 32 have filed my taxes several times and she always makes it as easy as can be. She quick, efficient and kind. If there is something I don't understand she explains it and never makes me feel d****

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They didn't want our business, clearly. We went to a different location, and had no issue whatsoever filing our taxes. Staff here needs to be retrained and learn how to listen.
