Used to go here when I was a kid in the mid '90s. My friends and I lived in the area so we would walk or ride our bikes. I can't remember his name but the guy who worked there everyday would drop handfuls of swedish fish at a time to land into the glass lid of the mason jar he kept them in and he would count them as they fell. My friends and I would get a dollars worth and sit out front eating them always in disbelief that it was exactly 100 every single time. Life was more simple back then and people were happy.

Long since moved to New England, but I lived directly across the river. During the summer, or on nicer weekends, I'd row across, walk up the hill. Got my candy & comic book fix. Picked up things for Mom (back then, a 12-year-old could by cigarettes 'for Mom'-and they really were!)....This was back between 1966 and 1973! And its still there!!!

I've actually never been inside this place since it has been closed every time I stop by, but it makes a nice picture for bikes or cars, hahaha. It says antiques in the window, and has a flip sign for open and closed, but I have never seen it open and wouldn't be surprised if it is permanently closed.
