Five stars for going postal: Over one month ago I moved from San Diego to another city in California. Two weeks before moving, at the local post office (San Diego's Ocean Beach USPS branch)) I handed a postal worker my address change info. I have yet to see one piece of mail forwarded to me. This failure from USPS has resulted in numerous complaints from both business contacts and personal correspondents, and in loss of subscription services (which I included in my forwarding info. Neither the Ocean Beach branch or the main branch of USPS San Diego answers their phone. Amazing what incompetence exists in a US government agency. Or perhaps not so amazing but to be expected. The buck ends with the Postmaster General. Is he/she/they reading Yelp

A woman assisted me when sending out my Mother's Day gift and it never made it to my mother. I thought it was coincidental. Then a few months later the same lady assisted me with send my Father's Day card which also never made it to my father. This USPS is in need of a postal inspection and to terminate any employees participating in criminal activities such a stealing mail (which is a federal offense). It's a shame because I know this post office has hard working employees. It's the valueless and thieving employee that make their jobs harder.

I had a great experience at this post office. Very helpful and friendly. I had 138 padded boxes to mail and they spent over an hour helping me with stamping each item. They made this experience fun and not as stressful as it would have been. I will def recommend going back.

Not recommended, they "lost my PlayStation 5"The lady who helped me asked if it had any batteries and I said maybe it's a PlayStation 5, she got super exited and said they are hard to find, I left regretting telling her what it was cause I had a bad feeling!! Yup!!! A month later eBay took the money out of my account because the buyer never got it. I have a tracking number it shows it never left!!! They don't want to help me and I get the same person when I call. 2 months later no one is helping me!! They just tell me i can't do anything with out insurance!!!

I called to ask the price of a small Flat Rate box. The man was very rude. He told me that it was over $20 to ship a small Flat Rate box . The other post offices charge around $5.

This post office doesn't get enough credit. The scene outside isn't the most glamorous but the workers inside are always helpful. One woman in particular is truly super helpful. Her name is Christy. I've been lucky enough to have been helped by Christy a few times. She is always extremely patient and kind and knows everything about the business. The postal service is lucky to have her and she is one of the main reasons why I favor this location. Thank you for all of your hard work Christy!

This station is so amazing! Ms. Christy helped me to find my lost boxes from Japan. It was hard task but she did not say anything, and kept my whole five boxes to be arrive at this station, then she called me for each box has arrived. I have never recieved such a warm, great service in any other postal office. I am from Japan so level of service is very high (not a corky way), but I have never met such a wonderful person who really cares about customer. Absolutely wonderful person! Other staff members are very kind and thoughtfull, too. I wish all other post ofiices are same as here. I am so proud to have such a great post office in San Diego!!!!!!!!!!!

Walked in there was a line but moved fairly fast, customer service was great. I just needed a change of address I was in and out. They were fully stocked with boxes, and other shipping supplies.

Waiting in line here is a tiny bit more pleasant than other USPS locations. The design is vintage and interesting to look at. It's also huge inside so with social distancing, the usual vibe of discontent among patrons is almost indetectible! Employeees here seem to either be jolly or hate life completely but they are always helpful and get the job done. Yes there are many homeless people near here but I've never had an issue in the 10+ times I've walked here.

If you're up to having about 50% of your packages lost or you like dealing with a rude unprofessional manager; she didn't know the proper paperwork to fill out & doesn't understand customer service, this is the place for you. I actually thought I was being punked. They couldn't deliver my envelope to my high rise building because they couldn't find the entrance that they walk through daily to deliver our buildings' mail. No notice sent to me, but 9 days later the envelope was found at the post office. Long lines, long wait. I use UPS since UPS has a professional tracking system, true customer service since it's a business, and best if all they don't lose packages. Prices same as post office.

This location is sketchy af!!! You already know it is when the drop off has to be at the counter because the drop boxes can't be trusted to not get tampered with. Plus, it smells like human urine because all the homeless hang out nearby. Thankfully, the package that I shipped made it safely. Hence the 2 star. Do not recommend. Only went because I was in a rush and it's downtown. Parking can be iffy too depending on the time and day.

I hate the area of this post office since it can be so busy and parking sucks, however the staff is great and I couldn't ask for more at a post office.

We have a PO Box here. We send out a monthly newsletter along with a self addressed return envelope. We have had the same PO Box for at least 15 years. I am puzzled as to why I recieve mail a month later that the postmark with a yellow sticker that states UNABLE TO FORWARD/FOR REVIEW The staff is friendly and courteous. The manager did address the problem. He said that it's been happening lately and that this is not the first time

This post office was built around the New Deal Era like many grand high ceiling mainpost offices, which is cool & patriotic. The staff is very helpful and they pride themselves on providing excellent service, including answering their phones to help out customers. You wouldn't expect a post office to answer phones in any jurisdiction or state. Whatever shortcomings may be seen or felt, by either customer or staff, we give leeway / flexibility because we're in the middle of a stressful, once in a 100 yr pandemic. Alberto, 1 of the managers, is very helpful and thorough and confident. 1 of the clerks on 3/10/2021 offered to remove some large stamps that I put on a USPS Priority mail envelope which was super nice of him, considering it takes a lot of work. I declined to keep the line moving. Thank you so much. You all are appreciated during these times.
