RUN UNLESS YOU DONT MIND NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE!!!!!!. wish I could give zero stars. i was referred to this credit union by my partner. my chime account was more accurate. it takes up to a week sometimes for things to show pending on my account. STAY AWAY AND FAR AWAY. I've only been a costumer for about 3 months and I HATE IT. I will be canceling my account. no wonder this is a 2 star company..

I've been a member of BCU since 1984. We've enjoyed checking and savings services as well as credit cards. We had our home mortgage with them until we paid it off (yea!) and have had 2-3 home equity loans. My reason for writing this review today is to rejoice that once again BCU has made our lives very easy. Our HELOC was expiring 3/31/2024 and I was dreading having to refinance it and pay points, and/or shop around for another. On 1/9, I received an email with DocuSign links stating that we'd been approved for a 5 year extension on our HELOC and all we needed to do was sign the form. What??? We signed and sent it back. I called BCU this morning 1/12 to inquire of the status, and was told that the loan has been extended until 3/31/2029 and it's all done. Incredible! WE LOVE BCU!!

Great service! Had another auto loan processed through BCU. Again surpassed all my expectations. Norma R. provided excellent service. She answered all my questions & processed my loan very quickly. I highly recommend BCU!

Horrible bank and customer service don’t bother giving them your money there systems suck and they move money out of your account without permission. Also don’t finance a vehicle with them either since they require you to show proof of the insurance or that add on 5,000 or more under CPI insurance just to get more money out of you. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and Attorney generals office for consumer fraud.

UPDATE: CUSTOMER REP Andrew Elterman is the only reason im updating my review from one star to 3.He was very helpful and informative.Although my original loan officer Justin Jaugernauth has horrible customer service skills. He takes over 7 business days to respond to very simple questions, and I have to bug him by phone and email...These questions are very important yet could be answered easily...Such as tracking # for my vehicle title....Extremely unprofessional on Justin's end. Does not fully answer questions, I dont think he is fit for the job.

If you do not have your auto loan account setup on autopay, they will still withdraw the funds from your checking account without permission once past due (and by past due I mean only 10-days and under 30 days, not even reportable to the credit bureau). I do not even understand how this is legal. Definitely will be consulting with a lawyer because no other creditor can just pull money from your checking account without authorization unless it's in court. Why is it that BCU can just transfer themselves money from your personal checking account because you happen to also bank with them. This is crazy to me. I have tried twice to go direct through customer support and both times denied my refund for my money that I had not authorized them to pull.

My debit card expired on October 1st 2023. Today is October 3rd 2023 and still no new debit card. I received an email, about 3-4 weeks ago advising I should receive my new debit card about 1-2 weeks BEFORE it expires. This past Thursday, 09/28/2023, nothing in the mail. I called BCU to check on it, and a very nice female looked into and she spoke with card services and they told her they were packing it up at that moment to send out that day. Less than 72 hours before my current debit card expires! I say ok and go about my day assuming BCU would send my debit card priority mail so it would arrive BEFORE it expires. Well, that is what I get for assuming. Monday, 10/02/2023, gets here and still no debit card. I call BCU again and speak with card services and the nice female advises me it was packed up to be sent out on 09/28/2023 and should arrive in 7-10 business days. BCU knowingly sent it regular mail, knowing it would not arrive on time. You would think that a credit union that claims to give a rip about it's "members" would send it out priority mail to arrive on time given it was their fault it ws delayed, but no. BCU does not care about it's "members", it seems they would rather you have to use a credit card and pay interest on purchases rather than get their act together and send debit cards out on time. I called again today, 10/03/2023, and spoke with memeber relations to see why it was delayed and why they did not take the initiative to send the debit card out priority mail when they didn't pack it up to be sent out until AFTER I called in that Thursday before it expired. The explanation I got was that they were late and send them out in bunches. ZERO explanation as to why this sorry excuse for a credit union didn't take the initiative to send it out priority mail. Just a, "sorry for the inconvenience". I guarantee you that leadership within BCU would not except the explanation I received had the shoe been on the other foot. I'm extremely disappointed in this "credit union".

BCU's inability to provide adequate and knowledgeable customer service during 2021 will end up costing me tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest expense on my mortgage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

the fact we have to at least give it 1 star disgust me ! this bank will get you it should be named "bcu broke causeof us" !! trial and quick error it hasn't even been a week and i closed my account id rather trust the nearest homeless man with my money ! if you over draft $1 your gonna be charged $29 more no matter what you over draft its gonna be -$29 added when i go buy something the money doesnt come off my card right away so youll get excited thinking you have money then the next day its gone and it throws you off i went from -60 to -$200+ because of their fees run if you can

I USED to really like this credit union. But lately I have seen how they really are. I am going to warn you about something DO NOT LET THEM ACCESS ANY OF YOUR ACCOUNTS ANYWHERE!! They went into my account AFTER THEY WERE TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION AND CAUSED ME RO BECOME OVERDRAFT!! They still have not returned the money and I so help me if they are stupid enough to draw next month I am going to a LAWYER!!

If I could give a zero star review I would. This credit union is horrible. I sent them every piece of personal information I had over the last 48hrs in order for them to remove restrictions that they randomly place in my debit account. Only to then receive an email saying the restrictions were lifted, and when I called because the restrictions were in fact not lifted, they told me my account was completely closed and I was not eligible to open up another account. And all of this was due to mistakes that THEY MADE!! And had to nerve to tell me management sent the wrong email saying everything was fine. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. There are way better credit unions in existence, who don't blame and penalize their customers for management's mistakes and who have competent management teams and account specialist.

Terrible. Wife and I moved last year and they still haven’t been able to update our billing address in their system after 8 months of trying. Cards are declined all the time when there’s more than enough to cover transactions. Amateur operation.

Using hacked information, BCU set me up as a Member. Called and had my account flagged 6/5/23 and was told I didn't exist with them anymore. Received a notice that "to avoid collection measures" BCU needed to be paid a $29.00 fee for " a Non-Sufficient Funds" from a $99.99 "payment requester" from Credit Karma through my Powerplus Checking account (I've never had any checks). I've talked to Alexa, Sarab and Jenally from the Account Protection Team about this situation with no resolution and now I'm expecting another threatening letter "in accordance with the BCU Deposit Account Agreement" (which I've never seen).

Gone massively down hill over last few years. Have been a member for over 10 years. New web interface no good, they charge fees everywhere like other big name bank but with much less physical presence, apy is not competitive, internal account payment system stink, external bill pay system stinks, relies on gimmicks if you want to maximize benefits. Just go with the many available online banks.
