if you are looking for unique products Joann's may meet your needs, if you are looking for quality and customer service keep driving. I purchased some silly Santa Hat string lights, mind you this set me back a whole six dollars. Opened the package, tossed the package in the trash and when I went to use them I noticed that four hats off the string were missing. I called the Vernon Hills Location and was told even though I had the receipt they would not return a DAMAGED item. Now, it's the principal. I emailed their customer service and after a two week delay I was sent a fifty-percent off coupon for my inconvenience. A big deal they have that promotion all the time. As I said, keep on driving!

I wish there was a JoAnn’s closer to me! The Vernon Hills store is my go to for fabric, tools, and notions. I would be quite remiss if I neglected to mention the custom framing service there. Dora is a true artist. Her color sense is spot on. We’ve worked with her three times to mat and frame seven pieces of art, and she has never disappointed us.

I'm sure all the good reviews are for decor. Years ago, this store was a fabric store. No more. I was there recently and aside from the fabric bolts being in disarray, I couldn't find many types of apparel fabrics that used to be very available. Also, there used to be signs above the fabric types, such as SILKS, LINEN, COTTON, etc. The other thing I noticed is that their sewing machine parts section is skimpy. Too bad.

Huge selection of Fabric and Craft. I was looking for a very specific color of zip which I was able to find in Joann.

I ordered a picture frame in August. The person that took the order was very helpful & I was impressed at the frame we put together.The frame was back ordered & finally arrived in December & it was defective.Again, Dora went way beyond the call of duty to help solve the problem.Unfortunately I have no idea when this will be completed but my sense it it’s not Joann’s fault.

I ordered something online on Cyber Monday for curbside pickup. I had never been to this location before because it's quite a trek, but it was the closest one to me with the specific item. In fact this was only my second time ever in Vernon Hills. Online ordering was easy enough, and my order was ready within about 3 hours (not too bad considering that I'm sure they're swamped given Black Friday weekend/Cyber Monday promos). I don't have the Joann app, so I just clicked on the instructions in my email to let them know I was on my way and then when I was at the store. Unlike most stores, they don't have regular parking spots designated for curbside pickup; instead, it is literally curbside pickup in the firelane out front (It took me a second to realize that). But, it was easy enough. I was there over my lunch hour, and the parking lot wasn't super full but there were definitely a good number of customers in the store. Within 5-10 minutes or so they brought my order out and I was on my way. I had no issues.It seems like a lot of the negative reviews here are from early pandemic curbside pickup when stores were just trying to figure out how to adapt to the situation and get their systems set up, and obviously a smaller niche store like Joann is not going to be as smooth sailing as a store like Target was that has more resources (both human and financial) to make that transition. People need to chill -- you're not picking up anything life-saving at Joann, so waiting a few extra minutes for an order isn't going to kill you. Yes, it may be inconvenient and annoying, but seriously, big picture.

It's not about experience, but the chain in general. Needed some craft supplies to make centerpieces and thete really were no options.No vases. No mirrors. Nothing that stuck out and stated "I can use this." Same, because the chain used to be a staple for me.

Super chill store, staff is always helpful and coupons are always available. I never pay anything full price, I definitely recommend downloading their app.

This store is terrible. Employees that don't care at all or don't know literally where anything is in the store. The lone cashier is extremely slow. Manager is overwhelmed.
