After shopping at Macy's , previously Marshall Field, I will no longer be a customer at this store. The service has become so poor. I will be closing my store card after having been a customer for over 35 years. Today I went to make a return and the item was 7 days past the 30 day return window., I had the receipt and the tags were still on the item. Because the item had been discounted I was not eligible for the full refund. It was lower by $5. Not a lot but it was my money and they still have it. I spoke with a manager who offered me Macy's money (whatever that is) and I said no thank you. This was all it took for me to make a decision. They lost a long time customer over $5.00. That is truly so sad. Based on these reviews, they need to do better to retain what customers they have. I won't be a part of that however, Not ever again.

I was basically accused of stealing a purse I brought in with a receipt for a refund the manager Cindy was so rude.I took the tags off had only been 3 days plastic still on zippers. I have a health condition she laughed when she saw a mask in my bag. made me go all the way home to look for tags. before I left I browsed the purse department she didn't ask if I needed help she was thinking I was to steal a purse. She just watched me.I called to speak to another manager. she said call Cindy had been there 25 years. She gives excellent guest service.. the minute I walked up to the jewelry to get a refun It. She scolded me like a child there's a refund counter. iso Cindy lied to her manager and said that I came in with no receipt this will be the last time that I ever shop at Macy's again..Cindy had to be the rudest most unprofessional manager I have come across in quite some time..I have a lung condition to make me go back home in the heat and look for the tags when I had the receipt 3 days old zippers still had plastic. Discrimination against didabled people. And laugh about my mask in the bag. I was going to turn around and by a $150 cross necklace.Cindy blew that's sale and any other. I canceled my credit card also.Thats why I will only by from Amazon hassle-free. That's why I took my purse back!. I will reach out to cooperate. I know you have to email God forbid get a live person

I agree with most reviewers here this is one of few anchor stores at this mall. It is good to have I hope they stay. Their hours are longer than other anchor at this mall which is nice. Went recently for dress it was picked over and some look so old I can't believe there is not better made fashion but if you have time you might luck out as we did. But I also agree staffing is lately a problem. And then the woman I spoke to wasn't all that friendly but I think she ok. It used to be a given Macy's would have what you looking for. They need a redesign and a supply upgrade but overall I appreciate still the value.

Macys Customer service says we cant get our chair repaired by them if we haven't purchased an extended warranty. We told them WE WILL PAY for the repair and they refuse to help us. $1400 chair now worthless, but could be fixed if they would let us PAY for repair. OR even if we could order the part. But they told us they don't do that.I really am shocked!

Disgustingly unprofessional. After being hired and with my loss of vision promised accommodations; they completely retracted all of their accommodations they promised, significantly cut my hours, employing me for a total of three weeks totaling six hours a week, three hour shifts twice a week; and then unofficially firing me by not returning my phone calls or text messages or supplying me with more shifts. Disgustingly unprofessional

So sad. We went in too look for a men's suit. NOBODY works in that department and there is sadly no staff to assist. We wondered around for 20 minutes.

I would give negative stars if I could. Macy's said I couldn't earn points unless I got a different/new number since the old one was linked to an inactivated credit card. So after a few times talking to customer service I said ok, no points. Then in the past month things I have been returning I have been getting less than I paid for. All of a sudden I'm accruing points and when I purchase online, points are automatically being used. When you return they don't take away points, they convert points to cash so you get less then you paid for. Sneaky. Plenty of places to shop, go elsewhere

Macy's is truly one of a kind. You can always find anything home related in one trip. The products are usually of a high quality, so you don't need to worry that you're getting some fake product on Amazon. Even if you're not buying anything, just browsing around Macy's is fun, especially if you're with a good friend or significant other. Plus there's food right in the same building so you could make a day trip out of it. Get in some good exercise while shopping, and eat to recover your energy. You can get all you need in one place. Very loyalty return policy. Stuff is friendly and helpful especially on customer service but some cashiers are rude. A lot of discounts and sales. I love the cosmetic department, recently I bought the parfume Dior's J'adore, and I very satisfied with this product. Squeeze several drops into your bath and enjoy the aroma of delicate scent. You can feel the silkiness on your skin and emerge feeling beautifully cleansed and embraced with the fragrance of J'adore. But one time I had a not so friendly cashier, and why I give them 4 out of 5, but all in all this Macy's is a great place to have a fun day shopping.

Every experience at the Hawthorn Macy's has been so pleasant. Zoran, who's over the Men's Department, is absolutely an outstanding person and he is so knowledgeable, and personable. He is the reason my husband and I shop here and we have been coming to him for ten years now. Can't thank him enough for his expertise!

Bad customer's service. I am not satisfied at all. I went to buy my husband's perfume but I had to wait so long for someone to come and help me. No one was there, so I was just looking some of the colognes, and perfumes with my husband especially the sign said that we better not touch for the protection from COVID 19, and we really wanted to try some samples, but no one showed up for 10 minutes. So we walked around to find someone who can help us. Finally, we found a lady who works there and asked, but she said that we have to go to the other side to look for someone else who works at the men's perfume section. I was so mad but my husband asked her again where we can find someone who can help, but she just told us to walk to the opposite side and look for one. We finally found one who works there after walking this way and that way, but we really didn't feel happy because we already spent like 30 minutes for waiting, and looking for someone just to buy a perfume which I am pretty sure that we deserve better. We bought the perfume anyway because we didn't feel like go to the other places because we were there for so long already. I know I bought it here, but not anymore. I think customers satisfaction is the most important matter!!

I have been shopping at this store since it was Marshall Fields so going back around 20 years. When it was Fields it was a great store in that it had upscale ladies clothes, service was great and the store kept its appearance up. Since it became a Macy's store about 10 years ago it has gone straight down hill in every way. The store has not seen a bit of moderrnization in all that time. The same tile, carpeting, pictures on the walls, etc, is still there. Its become ratty looking and dumpy. The store is always a mess because they have cut the employees. Now the clothes are getting cheap and service is non existent. I miss the old days when this was not the case. I have recently decided that I deserve better and I will no longer shop there. I am now going to Lord & Taylor, Saks and Nordstroms where customer satisfaction matters.
